I like such analogies! feels good.
The other day I have drawn parralles with Ram and sita. Virat being mahan staking his wife and sai fighiting for love without comprimising self respect.
Shiv-Parvati fits well too, both are passionate to each other but are very independent in their mindset. Sai doesnt depend on him for her decisions neither will Virat. They just need eachother's presence in their life to make it joyful. Otherwise they are both capable humanbeings who can lead life as they desire but with commitment to each other. Shiv-Parvati I felt is the meaning of any modern couple's end goal 👍🏼. Independent yet committed.!
Why dont you post it in separate thread yaar! people would love to read it.
Here it would get lost.

Great suggestion!
Will do that.

An addition -
I know it is ITV and we are in 2022.
But still....
For Sairat there have been frequent references to Shiv Parvati. That's one reason I want to bash the makers for not including Hartalika. Well that's for another day.
But yes, Shiv Parvati is an ideal match. In Hindu Mythology, out of the three Gods only Shiv ji lived a complete married life - with kids. Vishnu ji on the other hand had kids in his incarnations and not in his real avatar.
Though Shiv Parvati is an ideal match it's definitely not a rosy match. They experienced frequent phases of separation. Shiv Sati, then Shiv Parvati. There's waiting, longing, yearning, patience, and assurance in them. Parvati's tapasya is famous. But as Parvati did her tapasya, even Shiv ji waited for her patiently. He never gave access to any other lady in his life - except Parvati. So it becomes a tapasya for both. Both are waiting, longing, yearning, and are assured that no matter what they'll find other again. It's poetic and poignant.
Parvati was kidnapped by Jalandhar. Shiv ji saves her. But Mahadev alone couldn't kill Jalandhar (as he was his own ansh) . He needed Parvati's support to kill him.
Sairat's storyline by far has followed this analogy.
Since Devkit married on Mahashivratri. This reference applies to them as well. Both in separation for years. Pulkit waiting patiently and Devi toh lost herself.
Also, only Parvati can pacify Shiv and only Shiv can calm down Kali. Haven't we seen that with Sairat already? No matter what, they are stuck together.
Shiv-Parvati as a couple is meant to take up and overcome challenges and do something for the world. To a great extent CVs have followed this with Sai and V. They both have done quite a lot for others without expecting anything in return. It's idealistic but I like the purity in this characterisation.
Another scene that touches this analogy is post their wedding when Sai has to serve everyone food. Parvati is also known as annapoorna. That day Sai made sure that everyone has eaten properly. It was her second day in the house but she fulfilled her duty. Before they leave for the dining table Sai asks V to wait "Virat Sir ek minute". And when everyone sits at the table, V is still standing in the corner. When asked he tells her that she only told him to wait. This scene was so symbolic! It was almost like Shiv brought his Parvati home and now feeding everyone is her part of the job and he let her take the lead. Beautiful it was!
Another similar scene was when Sai fed Mohit. Here also V intervenes till Sai's path is clear. He stands behind when she feeds Mohit. He convinced Mohit to sit down and then he stepped back. It's like "nourishing" is your job, I brought what was needed. Beautiful scene!
When V stops Sai from eating anything after she returns from Pulkit's house, he starts to see sense only after Ashwini counts all the good things about Sai. Only Sai Or anything related to her can pacify V. His track changes whenever Sai is in picture.
After Sai's second accident, she wanted to see only V. Whatever the situation between them, it was only V. The only person who can make her eat, take medicines is V.
Always loved Shiv-Parvati reference with Sairat! And I want more such scenes. Poetic yet poignant.
They are a walking paradox - Separate yet inseparable.
This analogy is actually a great screenwriting element for future plot building.
Coming to third angle - well there's no comparison to the cringe but still.
Parvati was furious with Mahadev as he's called "Gangadhar". And she leaves him only to reincarnate as Mahalsa. And Mahadev shows up as Martand. This is related to Khandoba Mahadev (there are multiple stories about this. Some say the third angle is related to Ganga, others say it is related to Parvati's friend).
There's another reference to "Gangadhar" -
Like Parvati being jealous is futile as "Gangadhar" means Ganga ko dhaaran karne wala. And anything that is held doesn't belong in your heart. And what belongs to you needn't be held.
This has been the dynamics of Sai V Pakhi. Though V blundered right in the beginning by calling the marriage a deal, he realises soon after that what is held doesn't belong - his promise to Pakhi. Pakhi never belonged to V and he acts out of courtesy with her. So he only holds the relationship of friend with her. But Sai eventually became a part of his heart and what belongs to your heart needn't be held for long. So the "deal" got erased from his life.
Now he's unable to explain the same to Sai - hence the confusion. He feels she'll read his gestures. She tries to, she does but Pakhi knocks the door every damn time.
Till Shruthi's track, V has been very patient when it comes to this shitty triangle. He never explained to Sai bcz he knew unless and until it doesn't come naturally to Sai, she's never gonna understand it.
This is quite similar to Mahalsa Martand Bano. Mahalsa suffered a great deal here. Martand kept his patience till Mahalsa recalled what really happened before the incarnation. It's basically to give her space to purge out her residual feelings of jealousy, anger, and hatred.
Another POV is from Shiv Sati story
Shiv ji stops Sati from going to her father's havan puja. She doesn't listen. She goes, gets insulted, and burns herself to death.
V requests Sai to keep patience during Shruthi's track. She doesn't listen. She fights, leaves, and when she comes back to the real reality she has already burnt the rope halfway.
After Sati's death, Shiv ji breaks all his ties with the world and lives in seclusion. Same happened with V post his homecoming.
Sati reincarnates as Parvati and now Parvati won't repeat the mistakes that Sati has committed.
Same is happening with Sai. She has burnt down her old impulsive self (which is good if one wants to achieve some stability in life) and now is moulding herself at every step.
Sati married Shiv by going against her father. Sai has done many things by going against CN wasis and V. Parvati rectified her mistake and married only with her parents' blessings. Sai is now doing the same. She's going against CN wasis but she'll make sure V gives her the consent for Rajiv Shivi wedding. V still feels that she hasn't gotten over her impulse. Hence the dialogue "iska kuch nahi ho sakta". Let him realize how much her method has changed. He'll melt. Separation/No separation.
Through and through, V was trying to explain Sai how important it was to tame down her impulsive self. He knew she'll get it only after it comes naturally to her. Her insecurities propelled her impulsive nature in Shruthi's track. (This track was badly executed no doubt. But my focus is purely on analogy and screenwriting parallels)
Now they have reached a point where Sai is in tapasya mode and V too is suffering out of this whole thing.
They'll rise like Phoenix when the fire has burnt down all the impurities. Waise it also burns jealousy, anger, hatred, insecurity, and doubt. 😉
Feel free to spam the below thread on Sairat's analogy.
I very respectfully disagree!
Usually silent reader but couldn’t stop my self from commenting here! Please please please leave gods out of this! A problematic n toxic character like Virat who is not acting as decent man is being compared to Shiv! 😳🥺
Even if they started with such reference in their mind, at this point the execution is so bad that we must refrain from bringing in references of Shiv Parvaati and n Ram Sita or any religious character for that matter! Comparing Sai Rat to Any of them is huge disrespect to these gods!
So the day we all, or at least some of us had been waiting for has finally come... Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin finally ended and with that it...
