It's a protective instinct to cover up hurt and turn it into a joke so that the real emotions don't come out. She is alone with no one to support her and this seems like a defence mechanism. 😭

One of my predictions was that Sai will ask for V's help in patching up Shivani-Rajeev. In the process, she will spend more time with V. He will get to know her changed emotions and probably with this final year exam looming on... It will be a confession on wedding day.
Also today devi-Shivani seemed to have patched up and most importantly Shivani was happy knowing that Sai loves V. So they may act as catalyst once Shivani knows that SaiRat are helping with her wedding.

KD didn't have any story arc..But Leena beautifully has shown two distinctive individuals who are professionally successful but failed resolving marital discord..
The amount of passion and intensity it had till now it is no where to be seen...
They seriously needs to give some character arc.
