Yes all the situations you raise are not 100 % awesome or ideal. But Ayeshas performance makes them ok and not glaringly horrible imo. Thats why I think actors can elevate a dumb script to some degree.
1. Taunting aunties- unlike chavannis who say stuff on purpose she was only pointing out hypocrisy. She wanted to show that every fanily has some drama but it doesn't need to be amplified and its an internal matter. Sai did it in a manner where everyone shut up for good. Not in a ZA manner of sadistic pleasure. Ayesha's body language and dialogue delivery makes that scene ok- because shes merely shutting them up effectively but not in a ZA way.
2. Shivanis letter- she opened to see ki aisa kya tha ki box fek diya gusse mein. Then letter bhi tha usmein toh she obviously read it. I dont think anyone in that situation would have been able to curb themselves and not read the letter. I think it'd be different and completely unacceptable if she opened a sealed envelope addressed to someone without their knowledge that came as post. But here it was a random dubba plus she saw it being thrown by Shivani in anger only to realize its a gift box with pretty cupcakes- so obviously her curiosity is triggered.. Plus here she directly asks Shivani who is Rajeev and tells her how she learned of him from the letter addressed to her. So she is direct, truthful about it. Unlike chavannis who would have lied or again used info negatively.
3. Virat is clearly not on any medication from what they are showing. He is literally only wearing a sling and is having purely mechanical issues like joint/muscle pain. So aise medical aspects toh hai hi nahi in consideration that the bhang may interact with meds. Also bhang is basically cannabis so actually its not such a bad thing for pain - because medical marijuana is used fror chronic pain management. Plus i think Sai's intention was to only give him 1 or 2 mithais only to lighten him up, not to full on spike him into completely losing control so that part seems too much and essentially just itv exaggeration.so while I dont approve of her spiking someone against their will, again here Ayeshas performance and Sais intention still makes it palatable to watch. What ideally is more of an issue is that she didn't prevent V from over exerting himself in his inebriation because she was sober. Sling phek hai aise dance kiya hai that nect day he was in sever pain. That was avoidable. I think Sai knew he'd be upset about getting drunk but didn't realize he'd blame Ashwini. When that happens she immediately speaks up. I think she was anyway prepared to face an angry V in private as soon as he woke up and would have confessed anyway. Ashwini overreacting is ridiculous. She clearly said she was happy to see V shedding his inhibitons and even blesseing whoever got V to smile, laugh even if by intoxication but now shes flipped and blamed Sai. Sai genuinely wanted Aai-V to share a moment where he ate from her hands. It wasnt to make Ashwini the person to feed him spiked food/drink. If Sunny hadnt shown up with pudiya and put the idea in her head, she'd have come up with some other plan but Sunny coaxed her into this dumb idea of intoxication. Also I believe she'd have still encouraged Ashwini to take a plate of gujiya for V.
Sai is not without flaws. Ideally she shouldn't be meddling in Shivanis matter at all. But Sai is the type to be curioys, get involved only to do good. Theres a distinct difference in the way she meddles vs chavannis. The beauty of Sai is in how she makes you love her despite her stubbornness and flaws. Ayesha delivers as an actor. I also feel like Sai is better off away from drama but when Sai involves herself in the drama- because itv hai toh drama toh hoga -she makes me root for her as audience because you see her intentions and her dilemma, her motivations very very clearly. Ayesha excels in portraying more than one emotion.
Thats where NB failed. His intentions during Shruti kaamd were good but he failed to show his dilemma or his guilt or pain for hurting Sai. Initially he did a little- and that time V was tolerable but eventually he flipped and became unacceptable. He literally ignored Sais pain with zero acknowledgement. And NB as actor gloriously failed at bringing any softness, any longing. All he showed was anger and disgust. All the instances of him "missing Sai" or being concerned for her felt forced and poorly performed by him and poorly written/directed. And till date they have messed up V without giving him enough monologues for audience to feel his pov. And actor who used to elevate the material is now looking bored.
