Why it truly deserves some appreciation? (Episode and Viewer Analysis)

Warning: Might be exasperating for those who are sensitive to such contents. Also, long post.

Hello! So, I have already given a critique kinda review in the morning just after watching today’s episode. But this is a bit more analytical one for both the episode and the fans. I couldn’t help but feel like all these trolling are a bit too harsh, and at the same time I understand how the fans feel after watching today’s episode.

Now, in my opinion there were loads of mistakes and poor editing in today’s episode, but some things felt bad too because they are a bit realistic and majority of times these things can only be understood when you have actually witnessed them (this is not related to the accident).

Let me start from the very beginning. The SaiRat fight. The fight was rushed, the dialogues were repetitive, and there was no flow or continuity in the dialogues. Virat continuously asked, “Sai mujhe janna hai ki tum kya kar rhi thi” even though Ajinkya had already told him. Virat’s reacting was a bit extreme given the situation too. Then what was it that made me feel that even though there were so many problems, it still deserve a bit appreciation. It was the way they fought, which was mainly the work of actors. If you have noticed, during the fight Virat and Sai continuously tried to raise their voice higher than the other. Suddenly for few sentences their voice got really high, then they again came back (almost) to the normal pitch. And that is exactly how it happened. This is why I said that these little things would only be noticed by those who have witnessed it. When I was little, there was a brief time (1-2years) where my parents had similar kind of misunderstanding and they used to fight frequently. And even though it has been quite some time, and I have mostly forgotten about t, when I was watching Sai and Virat’s fight and that shout scene came, the memories resurfaced. This is what made me realise that even with such poor dialogues, Neil and Ayesha still gave as good performance as they could have.

This was a very subtle thing so I understand if most people didn’t notice it, and tbh I can’t blame them either because we don’t watch tv to catch the details, but just to live the stories, and the dialogues and editing were enough to make anyone feel detached and if you have read my morning post, I got detached too.

Second and the main thing, the accident. In my opinion it was brilliantly shown. I am not taking into account Virat shouting and chasing Sai on the bloody road, screaming, “Sai mujhe sach janna hai” like a creep…because that was way too cringy to be excused. Nor am I taking into account Sai’s weird fall. I am just talking about Virat’s reaction to Sai’s accident and everything else.

In my opinion, that part of the accident was brilliantly portrayed, and (unpopular opinion), one of the best accident scenes I have ever watched. It was as sudden as it gets and Neil’s acting was spot on. The reason majority of people don’t truly feel so is because it wasn’t sugar coated at all. This is why in my morning post I gave a sensitive content warning for the episode and one even in this post just to be on the safe side. What do we usually see in the serials whenever there is an accident? The girl is hurt and the hero tries to save her, with her blood all over his hands and clothes, but his spine is still tall and hand still firm. However, if you remember those scenes and just think, would this truly happen in real life? If we are in such situation (god forbid) would we truly react the way it was shown? The answer is simple. No. Every such scenes are shown in a way that is, even with such content, beautiful. So, it is easier for us to feel it. It is easier to shed some tears. By beautiful what I mean is, a bit…nice and light to look at as compared to what we saw today. When such scenes happen in other serials, what we feel is not the fear, but the love. Our thoughts are not how they would be if something like this happened in real life, but more about, “He truly loves her”, “He don’t want to lose her”, and “He cares so much about her.”

But if we saw this in real life, all we see and feel is pain if it happens to us, and if it happens to others, we feel pity. And contrary to how it is usually shown pity and pain are not beautiful. They are some of the most gruesome feelings. We all must have heard of this statement “Mujhe to rona aa raha tha” and then there is this statement, “Dekh kar man kharaab ho gya”. Think of both of these expressions being used in such scenario. Which hits closest to reality? Today’s episode was more of the latter. We usually say, I could feel his pain, when in reality we truly can’t, but in today’s episode if you let yourself just focus on the part when Virat held Sai, you will realise that you can truly feel his pain.

When a person see someone they love dying in front of them, the first thought is not how much they love them, it is the fear, the mind-numbing, heart-wrenching fear, which makes our hand shake. That fear was evident in Virat today. There was no beauty there. No place where we can even say, “Ab Virat ko samajh aayega” or “Ab ye dono aur kareeb aayenge” because we can see that for those few minutes all Virat could think was , “Please just undo it. I will do anything to make it all right again.”

That part when Virat slapped his forehead in regret was heartbreaking. When Virat held Sai’s hand and kissed it, it was all so real that right now just thinking about it makes me uncomfortable. The rain made it all so messy, just the way it does in real life. Sach batao, sirf films aur serial mein hi dekha hai ki bearish kitni khoobusurat hoti hai. Real life mein aise conjusted jagah mein cheechaledar hojaata hai. And that was just how it was shown.

Everything was wet and messy, and Sai was dying, her blood on his hands, and he could feel the regret that why did he let her come out in the roads. Can you imagine the fear? The excruciating pain which Virat must be feeling? The ACP brought down on his knees, begging to the doctor to save her wife’s life. He looked pathetic and vulnerable, and someone who can only get stranger’s pity, not their admiration. Everything was hit too close to reality. And personally, I really appreciate the team for doing so.

But the thing is, which kind of happened to me too, when we see something so real, we getkind of uncomfortable. We are not used to seeing the main lead so pathetic, and so vulnerable no matter what situation as we saw today. And when we are uncomfortable it gets all that easy for our minds to detach ourselves from the scenario. There were moments when we wanted to skip scenes, not because they were truly bad, but because we were uncomfortable. Our mind was looking for things it could rather focus upon than the sheer truth that was forced on it. We needed a distraction and it felt like the makers were more than willing to provide us with one. What with their poor editing and dialogues. This is why in today’s episode everything felt all that more weird and irritating and even funny.

I am not saying that there were no mistakes. There were loads of them, which truly deserve the negative remarks they are getting, because these mistakes were made at a time when it was all more crucial to not make them, at a time when everyone would be so focused on everyone’s reaction that every mistake would further be highlighted. But What I am saying is that those few minutes of accident, those were really well showed and deserves appreciation.

This is why I think that we should applaud the actors for their performance because it couldn’t have been easy to portray everything the way they did.

I am sorry if there were any grammatical mistakes. Please ignore them. And if you have any other counter-opinions, or any opinions at all then please comment them. I would love to know about them.

For me your description is very real. I haven’t watched the episode and won’t be doing so.

I didn’t want a suicide track but I also didn’t want a car accident it’s too real for me.

I felt Virat acted exactly as one who is numb and in shock would do. As someone who has experienced such loss…you freeze or do the wrong thing. You just want someone to take over but when thinking rationally the only people who care about the accident victims are their families.

I’ve read the reviews and OTT acting of Virat but when in pain and loss of control everything is OTT.

Im not ready to watch actual events which I relate to my real life but I am glad that the harsh reality was shown. In comparison to the ML running along with the FL in his arms.

just my personal experience which I wanted to share

The main reason why I understood these things were also because of my personal experience. This is why I warned the people regarding the episode.

I too think that it's best for you to not watch the episode if you feel uncomfortable. ❤️

You have written so well and perfect. I loved Neil, he was outstanding as usual. We could feel his pain. And, yes the accident was so natural. Both Neil and Ayesha had done a great job.
