Wonderful updates 6-7...very well written... maan was already in love with Rajkumari geet.. Everything about her pleased him...wow his sword fighting competitor was his geet herself only... one moment geet's embarrassment notice by royal family only so he saved her from others ... loved All pics...maan won the competition still he was restless... OMG, geet was unknowingly shot by kamla's husband who was threatened to kill kamla & her baby girl... when king & queen came to know the incident both rushed to geet and got some relief to know her wound was not deep would heal in a week as they were tense about her marriage ... All wanted to declare maan as winner without pistol competition but maan wanted to win fairly...awe with left hand maan's 1st shot was ok but for yash's demand with right hand he was perfect... King & others congrats maan for winning the competitions...excited for next...!!

CHAPTER 8

ALL THE NAMES & PLACES ARE FICTITIOUS. Any royal titles, MEDICAL PROCEDURES, MEDICAL TERMS, MILITARY PROCEDURES, MILITARY TERMS, Punjabi terms, architectural terms, IT terms & programs, office hierachy, wedding rituals, etc. There also maybe some HINDU MYTHOLOGICAL references but they all are from my imagination hence THEY ARE NOT TRUE. If any resemblance to persons, places, events and stories it is purely coincidental! It has FANTASY (totally untrue) undertones to it. KINDLY READ IF ONLY COMFORTABLE!!!

Rudra as usual was not disappointed by seeing Maan’s true prowess i.e. with his right hand Maan aimed from the side of one board and all the boards collapsed with his single bullet!!

Sound of applause drew Maan and Rudra’s attention towards Maharaj Gajendra and Diwan Vidyasagar. “Yuvraj, iss shann se aap Kshitija ke bade “jawai-sa” hain. Humara abhinandan sweekar kariye Rajkumari Rajeshwari ke Swayamvar mein vijayeta hone ke liye!” (Crown Prince, from this moment you are Kshitija’s eldest “son-in-law”. Please accept my Congratulations on your winning Princess (Rajkumari) Rajeshwari’s Swayamvar!) Maharaj Gajendra said with folded hands.

Then there was an announcement on the speakers of Sports arena, “Kshitija ke Maharaj Gajendra Singh Ranawat aap sab pratiyogiyon se vinamr viniti karte hain ki saaiyen kaal saath baje (07:00p.m.) Rajya Sabha mein padharein “Swayamvar Samaroh” (Swayamvar Ceremony) mein upasthith hone athva “Rajkumari Rajeshwari ke Swayamvar ke vijayeta” ghoshit karne ke liye.” (Kshitija’s King (Maharaj) Gajendra Singh Ranawat, requests the pleasure of company of all our royal guests at 07:00p.m. in the evening for “Swayamvar Ceremony” as well as announcing the “Winner of Princess (Rajkumari) Rajeshwari’s Swayamvar!” at Palace’s Rajya Sabha.)

“Maharaj, Vijayeta ghoshit karne se poorv humari aapse ek vinamr viniti hai.” (Your Majesty, before announcing the winner, I have a humble request to make.)

“Aap viniti kyun kar hain jawai-sa? Aap toh aadesh dene ke adhikaari hain.” (Why are you requesting Crown Prince? You can give us order.)

“Maharaj, “SWAYAMVAR” ka artha hai “kanya ka swiccha se var chunne ka adhikaar”. Humari dhirishta (lack of manners) kshama kijiyega kintu inn do dino mein jo yahaan hua woh “Swayamvar nahi ek pratispradha thee”. Iss liye humari iccha hai ki aap vijeyta ghoshit karne se poorv, Rajkumari Rajlakshmi ki iccha avashiye pooch lein. Kya woh humse vivaah karna bhi chahteen hain ki nahi? Ek aur viniti hai aapse Maharaj.” (Your Majesty, “SWAYAMVAR” means “the bride’s choice of husband”. Forgive my impertinence, but for past few days it felt like a competition was going on and not Princess (Rajkumari) Rajlakshmi’s choosing of her husband (Swayamvar). Therefore, before you announce the winner, please ask Princess Rajlakshmi’s if she would like to marry me or not? There also one more request.) Maharaj Gajendra nodded in affirmative. “Maharaj, jab tak Rajkumari Rajlakshmi ka nirnaye nahi aata tab tak aap aur Ranawat rajparivaar kripya hummein “jawai-sa” keh kar naa sambodhit karen.” (Your Majesty, as long as Princess Rajlakshmi does not tell her decision, please don’t address me as your “son-in-law”.)

“Kintu.....Theek hai jaisi aapki iccha, Yuvraj.” (But....Alright as you wish Yuvraj.) Maharaj Gajendra left towards his residential area of the palace whereas Diwan Vidyasagar very respectfully guided Maan and Rudra to their residential area.

Maharaj Gajendra at 12:00p.m. strolled in Rajkumari Rajlakshmi’s bed chamber as if on a war-path. “Hummein Raj se akele mein vratalaap karna hai. EKAANTH!” (I want to talk to Raj in privacy.) Maharaj Gajendra thundered resulting in all women (including Maharani Bhagyashree) and girls filing out of Geet’s room. Once Maharaj Gajendra and Rajkumari Rajlakshmi were alone in the room, Maharaj locked the door from inside. Rajkumari Rajlakshmi (Geet) gingerly broached the topic, “Pitahji, koi samasya hai? Aap bahut vichilit lag rahe hain.” (What is the problem Papa? You are looking very upset.)

“Raj, jab hummein aapka naa chahte huye bhi “Swayamvar” aajojit kiya thaa hummein umeed bahut kam thi uske safal hone ki. Maharaj hone ke kaaran hummein apne mantriyon aur raj karamchariyon ki baatein maan ni padhi. Magar aaj hum Kanahji ka shath-shath dhaniyavaad karte hain ki hummein aapke liye ek sarvoch jeevan saathi mila hai. Aisa jeevan saathi jo sahaasi hone ke saath-saath purusharthi bhi hain.” (Raj, when I had organised your “Swayamvar” against my wish, I had never thought it to be successful. As I’m King of Kshitija, I had to listen to my ministers and courtiers advice. But today I thank Lord Krishna million of times for providing you with the best life partner. A life partner who is not only brave but also he can provide for you and your children in times of emergency.) Princess Rajlakshmi kept quite as arrows of disappointment (at not being married to her love) and pain were piercing her heart. “Raj, I want to know truthfully, “How do like Yuvraj Madhav Rao Rajsinghania as a life partner?” He is the same person who saved your life from Bhawar Singh’s bullet.”

“LIFE PARTNER?”

“Yes. Life partner.”

“Why are you asking me now, Papa? My future is already sealed with the winner of this contest.” Raj answered in a disappointed and depressed manner.

“I have to know before I announce the winner. Please Raj.”

“Yes I like Yuvraj of Ramgarh a lot. I fell in love with him the moment I saw him in my college’s Charity event but I couldn’t tell you as it was against ‘rajsi maryada’ (royal protocol). Anyway now that the competition is over, please tell me whom I have to get married to?”

“You get ready and come to the Rajya Sabha at 06:30p.m. and you will come to know.” Maharaj rang the bell and ladies trickled in. “Rajkumari Rajlakshmi ka saaj-shringaar kariye aur saiyen kaal sade chhe baje(06:30p.m.) inhein Rajya Sabha mein “Swayamvar Samaroh” (Swayamvar Ceremony) ke liye laayiye.” (Get Princess (Rajkumari) Rajlakshmi dressed as a bride and bring her to Rajya Sabha for “Swayamvar Ceremony” at 06:30p.m.) Looking at the gaurd outside Princess Rajlakshmi’s room, Maharaj Gajendra ordered, “Diwanji (Vidyasagar) ko humari beitak mein bhejiye. Unse kahiye ki woh turant aayen.” (Summon Diwan Vidyasagar to my study immediately.)

Rudra called home at 01:00p.m. While Maan was taking shower and spoke to his grandmother and parents. Mahraj Satyajeet put the phone on speaker so he could talk to all the elders at sametime. “Rudra beta, swayamvar ki shartein poori ho gayeen?” (Rudra, have all swayamvar conditions been fulfilled?) Rajmata Savitri Devi asked.

“Ji Dadimaa. Bhai-sa ne bahut pratibhashaali pradarshan kiya.” (Yes grandma. Bhai, gave an excellent performance.)

“Vijeyta kaun hai?” (Who is the winner?) Maharaj Satyajeet enquired with excitement.

“Pitahji, kya aap bhai-sa ki talwaarbaazi aur pistaul baazi ki khushalta nahi jaante? Abb aap sab Kshitija aane ki tyaaari kijiye.” (Dad, don’t you know about bro’s prowess in sword fighting as well as pistol shooting? All of you get ready to come to Kshitija.) Just then there was knock at the door. “Pitaji, hum phone rakhte hain shayad koi aaya hai. Aapko, Dadi-sa aur Maa-sa ko charan sparsh.” (Dad, I’ll call off as someone is on the door. My bye to you, grandma and mom.)

“Ayushmaan bhav!” (Have a long life!) Maharaj Satyajeet disconnected the phone and Rudra opened the door to find Maharani Bhagyashree along with three Princesses i.e. Kumud, Parvati and Priyamvada; followed by servants & maids had come carrying Maan and Rudra’s lunch. “Arre, Maharaniji, aapne kyun kashth kiya. Bhai-sa aur hum aa hi rahe the.” (Why did you go through all this trouble Your Majesty? Both of us were just coming for lunch.)

“Koi kashth nahi hai Rajkumar Rudra. Hummein laga ki shayaad jawai-sa klanth hone subah Raj ko bachane aur phir pistaul ki pratispradha ke pashchaat. Kya jawai-sa vishraam kar rahe hain?” (It was no problem Prince Rudra. We felt that our “son-in-law” maybe tired after saving Princess and shooting competition. Is the Crown Prince resting?)

Rudra was confused at being told about his elder brother’s saving Rajkumari (Princess) Rajlakshmi “Bhai-sa ne kabh.........” (When did bhai.......)

“Pranam Maharaniji!” (Geetings Your Majesty!) Maan walked in from inner room and was about to touch Maharani Bhagyashree’s feet but she stepped back saying, “Nahi, nahi Yuvraj aap humara charan sparsh nahi kar sakte kyunki aap abb Kshitija aur humare jawai-sa hain.” (No, no you can’t touch my feet as you are now Kshitija and our “son-in-law”.)

“Kintu...........” (But......) Maan was hesitating.

“Jawai-sa, Raj ko yeh vivaah sweekariye hai. Iss liye abb hum aapko ‘jawai-sa’ sambodith kar sakte hain.” (Crown Prince, Raj has whole heartedly accepted this marriage. Therefore now we can address you as our “son-in-law”.) Maharani Bhagyashree said caressing Maan’s head with motherly affection. “Hum aap dono bhaiyon ka intezaar kareinge aaj saaiyen kaal saath baje (07:00p.m.) Rajya Sabha mein. Yadi aapko kuch bhi bhojan mein athva aapke vishraam ke liye chahiye ho toh Thakurain-sa (indicating to a dignified middle aged lady) se keh dijiyega.

Thakurain-sa, Ranawat parivaar ka hissa hain. Pranam.” (We will wait for your arrival today evening at 07:00p.m. in Rajya Sabha. If there is anything you would like more in lunch or require anything to make your stay comfortable please inform Thakurain-sa (indicating to a dignified middle aged lady). Thakurain-sa, is part of Ranawat family. See you in the evening.) Maharani Bhagyashree along with three Princesses i.e. Kumud, Parvati and Priyamvada left just as she had come. Before Rudra could lock the door, Priyamvada slipped inside the room and ran to Maan panting, “Jeeja.....sa....p...p...palak-paneer zaroor khaiyega, R...R...Raj didi ne b...b...bannaya hai.” (Bro..ther..-in....-law, p..p..please taste p...p...palak-paneer...a..a..as...R...R...Raj didi has made it.)

“PRIYAMVADA!!!” Maharani Bhagyashree called. Priyamvada slipped out of the room with same agility as she had slipped in getting a disapproving nod from Thakurain-sa.

After Rudra had closed the door, Maan went to wash his hands and reflected, “Rudra, aaj pehli baar Rajkumari Priyamvada ko dekh kar hummein ek choti behan ka naa hone ka ehsaas ho raha hai.” (Rudra, today after seeing Princess Priyamvada, I’m missing not having a younger sister.)

“Aap bilkul sahi keh rahe hain bhai-sa. Rajkumari Priyamvada ko dekh kar mujhe bhi Abhi ki yaad aa gayi.” (You are absolutely right bro. After seeing Princess Priyamvada, I’m also missing Abhi.)

“Hmmm. Chalo khanna khaate hain.” (Hmmm. Lets have lunch.) Maan said and sat down to be served. Thakurain-sa (Daimaa) along with servants started serving lunch to the two Princes of Ramgarh.
