Good morning... Throwing a greeting towards Geet, Madhurima smiled seeing her cute daughter in law, pulling her in a hug.
She is looking even prettier than a doll in that soft pink attire. And her antics just add into everything!
"Good morning aunty... She finally moved her eyes from the entrance where Maan's shadow disappeared long ago!
"Mumma... Madhu growled with a glare!
"Yes...Aunty mumma...I mean srif Mumma... Swiftly corrected herself nipping her tongue while looking at Maan's exit once again, "Par woh aise choro(thief) ki tarha kyun chale gaye?? Waise maine bilkul aapne jo kaha tha waise sab kuch kiya. Unhone meri ghunghat bhi theek se uthaya, areh haan ek gift bhi diya...Aur phir mehendi mein naam bhi dhoonda...Hala ke bohot slow hain aapka beta mumma...
Ye batao kaha hain unka naam?? As usual Geet chirped in her own world, showing her hand towards them.
"Ye raha Geet Bhabhi...And Good morning! Amused, Annie pretty quickly pointed towards Maan's name as Geet pursed her lips, "Good morning! Dekha Annie tumhe baas 2 second laga naa...Aur pata hain Maan ne itna time liya uff jaise koi disease diagnosis kar rahe ho..Mujhe toh shaq ho gaya ki doctor main hoon ke woh!! Dekho tabhi aur der ho gayi na sone mein...Aur main subah uth bhi nahin payi!
Par baki sare rituals theek se ho gaye. Mumma, Maine, Maan ko pura glass pila diya milk ka!! She grinned widely with satisfaction at her achievement!!
After all, making that Dusht Danav drink all the milk is no less than a tough venture!
"Shabbash meri jaan...par hein?? Pura? Madhu was happy too until her brain worked, "Areh Adha tujhe peena tha pagli!! Riwaz ye hain ke pati ka jhuta patni ko peena hota hain!! But main iss baat pe hairan hoon ke Maan ne pura glass piya kaise?? Usey doodh ekdum nahin pasand!!
"Haan toh usmein kiya hain. Maine test ki na jab wo... Geet was going to blurt out some more but applied a quick break along another of her fishy grins, "Mera matlab hain ke toh kiya rasam puri nahin huwi mom?? ..Waise bohot nakhra dikhaya mujhe unhone ye milk par...I can't do it again!
Itni badi body hain unki aur milk ke naam pe bacche ban jate hain. Unka bas chalta na woh balcony se kud jaaye...Ya koi tree pe chad jaye!"
"Accha phir kiya huwa?? Annie felt only popcorn was absent as she wanted more juicy details to pull Maan's leg later!
"Phir kiya? Hum so gaye...Main toh jab woh mehendi mein naam dhoond rahe thhey na tab hi adhi neend mein thi. Finally now I feel fresh!
Khair, abhi Main naha ke aati hoon maa, phir I will eat and help you in the kitchen... Geet was back to her evasive self as Madhu nodded with a smile!
Annie who grinned at Geet's bubbly antics, turned towards her mother as soon as Geet left.
"Ye kiya!! Dekha mom, bhai se na kuch nahin hone wala bata rahi hoon main aaoko! Ajeeb hain aapka beta! Khair! Geet kitni bubbly aur pyaari si hain...Bhai ke liye ekdum perfect hain...Pata nahin bhai ko kyun shaadi nahin karni thi! She rested her cheeks against both her palms.
"Lekin maa Geet toh do din baad Handa Residence mein wapas chali jayegi naa...Aap kyun man gayi woh shart...abhi kuch socha hain kiya karna hain??" Anee looked at her mother with her inquisitive eyes!
Madhu got a bit startled by Annie's question as she asserted, "Beta...Woh waqt hi aisa tha ke mujhe koi rukawat nahin chahiye tha Shaadi mein...
Uss waqt agar Geet ki shart naa mante toh shayad ye shaadi hota hi nahin...Aur agar ye shaadi nahin hota toh pata nahin Phir kab Maan haan bolta...Kisi aur ke liye...
Maan upar se khud ko kitna bhi shant dikha de lekin andar se woh utna hi dukhi tha jab yeh shart Geet ne rakha...
Geet toh abhi nadan hain...Par aab toh shaadi go gayi na. Aaj ho ya kaal pyaar bhi ho jayega. Jab dono sath mein rahenge, ek doosre ko acche se jaan lenge toh sab theek ho jayega. Yehi toh kashish hain pati patni ki rishtey ki.
Mujhe pura yaakeen hain, jab Geet ko Pyaar ka, aapnapan ka ehsaas hoga na toh woh khud apna shart wapas le legi...Pati patni ka rishta hi itna takatwar hota hain...Abhi bas sabkuch waqt ke haath mein hain!! Slowly trailing out she got immersed in the web of thoughts.
Maan is the light of Madhuri's existence.
Even back then at the first time when Maan said no for the marriage, there is something unusual when it's about Geet.
She didn't read her own flesh and blood wrong, her beloved son definitely liked Geet but for some reason held himself back probably and after the night of sangeet a strange feeling engulfed her that those unknown reasons are gone too!!
Geet is intelligent, eccentric, bubbly, naive and bold but that's exactly needed in her boring, calm and composed son's life to fill some colors into it!
But the chart which topped all the list was Geet's humanity for the unfortunate. From the outside, she seems rigid, outspoken, bratty but Madhu has seen her from last one year and Geet's immaturity rather made her like Geet more!! She is like a fresh breeze..
The way her childhood has been then after her sister and brother both shifting outside, her mother battling cancer for years followed by the death everything altogether must have made things difficult for her. But that brave child came out from all sort of grief even though she is highly emotional.
Madhu can never forget the moment when at some day apropos to their discussions Geet become sad and cried her heart out holding Madhu. Remembering her mother Rano!!
That just reminded Madhu of her own mother's loss also the feeling which Annie must feel if she were no longer be amongst the living!! Maybe that was the significant moment when Geet and Madhu bonded for life!! Sometimes death can also cause some life long bonding, isn't it??
Hence that little condition Geet put forth didn't really falter Madhurima. Like others, she was not on the verge of becoming a mother in law. Rather her perspective more worked like a mother who welcomed her daughter.
On the top of all of it, Madhurima clearly remembers when there was talk going on about Maan and Geet's alliance for the first instance Geet was definitely surprised. But she did not decline strongly or needed much persuading which she did afterward with Aayan's alliance.
Then this whole thing with Sheela, who knows maybe heaven tested them a little but it was already decided that Maaneet belonged to each other!
"Par bhai itna slowww hain...Kabhi kisi ladki se dhang se baat karte dekha hain aapne unhe??... Hearing Annie's complaining voice Madhu smiled at the eagerness and naivety of her daughter!
"Of course dekha hain... Bare sare female colleagues toh hain Maan ke??
Itna underestimate mat kar mere bete ko. Shareef hona gunah hain kiya aajkal!!! Madhu didn't waver!
"But...You know, Bhai is like so boring... Pausing a little, Annie took a deep sigh, "Ok ok don't glare, I mean shant. Calm like the ocean. Aur Geet ekdum unka ulta...Like a thunderstorm...Pyaar ke jagah kahi takrar na ho jaye...Tufan...
Tapping on Annie's head, Madhu rattled on a low pitch not letting her finish, "Chup...Shubh shubh bol ladki...
Ocean mein thunderstorm gire ya lava, sabkuch akhir mein sabkuch sama hi jata hain!! Abhi tu ye badi badi baatein chor aur chal mere sath...Isse pehle ke guests aana chalu ho jaye bohot sara kaam hain na...Maa(Savitri) aur Parjayi jee(Aayan's mom) bhi aati hongi! Geet ka woh pehli pakwan ka rasm puri karna hain! And she dragged her daughter with her, evading the conversation!
Noon. 1.30 Pm.
Maan is still very much stuck in his workplace. He did call Geet on her cellphone but she nor answered neither called him back yet.
Sitting at his desk, he redialed her number.
After some 6th ring someone indeed received on the other side.
"Hello...Geet?? He summoned her with affection, "Hmm...Her replies came nonchalantly!
"Busy thi kiya..Umm I was calling...kafi der se...Attempting to make some conversation.
"Tv dekh rahi thi... Phone dusre kamre pe tha... Came her straight answer!
"Oh...Par subha bhi toh call kiya tha maine... He felt his heartbeat is rising and that too without any suitable cause!
"Dekha nahin hoga maine...Waise kiya kam hain?? Why does she sound so flat!
"Nahin bas aise hi...Woh shaadi ki dusre din hi main aise aa gaya office...Toh mujhe laga tum...naraz... He couldn't finish as Geet cut in, "It's ok.
"Umm..Ok.. For a second Maan lost his words!
"Bye... That's definitely not a good sign!
"Geet...suno... And he showed his desperacy!
"Ji... Very precise of her as she waited!
"Main dopeher ko hi aane wala tha...Lekin urgency aa gayi hain isliye der ho rahi hain... Closing the eyes, Maan breathed his words out!

"Toh mujhse baat karke time waste mat kijiye...Finish your work... Here comes her sixer!
"Tum naraz lag rahi ho... Now his patience drying off!
