2) This is a very slow paced FF at least for the first few parts. It isn't a Maan meets Geet and falls in love Mahiii story. Not at least for the first few parts that I have planned 😆
For a story that has a backdrop of time to it, requires a certain build up. So it will be a slow and steady process. But I do promise to be regular. Please be patient with me 😳
3) Although there are no definite movie plot which the FF is based upon, chances are I might add some touch here and there from movies if I feel like it 😳
4) All the historical events, clans, places or practices mentioned in this FF are merely elements of fiction for the sake of the story and is not based on any real life incidents. If any such thing is found, then it must be purely coincidental!

"Maan beta, don't worry. I am perfectly alright. There is no need for you to rush out here. I am good.", Savitri Devi assured her favourite grandson who was worried sick when he heard she was rushed to the hospital by an equally worried son of hers an hour after Maan left the mansion. She had her back problems but right after dinner a sudden pain shot up her spine from the tip of her toe that she could not move at all. Yash was too worried to wait for their family doctor and took her immediately to the "Nanda Devi hospital" in Green park.
Maan was nothing short of his father, "Dadi, I know you don't want me to worry which is why you are making it sound lighter. I am coming to the hospital right now!"
Dadi, "Maan bete there is no need..."
Before she could complete Maan hung up and she sighed in defeat. Like father, like son.
Despite her complaints Savitri Devi was glad that her son panicked and brought her to this hospital. She was amused as she observed the beautiful young doctor who was examining her with the seriousness of a border soldier. The graceful and polite young lady immediately caught her attention and won her heart without even trying. She will be the perfect choice for our family. She will make the perfect wife for her grandson and the perfect bahu. A bundle of joy who could bring smile to any face and God knows their family needed someone like that. Someone who brought people together.
She came out of her thoughts as she the heard croaked voice of her doctor, "Nain Tara, I am so sorry...sorry sorry... something came up in the last moment. It's a patient and I cannot leave... " Dadi heard Geet whisper, "Yeah, I have done all the check ups. It's a nerve compression. There is nothing much I can do except write the medicines but she is old and her son wants the doctor to observe her all night. Apparently it is a VIP patient. Anyways it is for the peace of mind of a son. We can shift our plans for tomorrow right?"
"Sure babe, don't be sorry", NT comforted her at the other end even though she was looking forward to this night out very much. But that is their life now, so no worries.
"Excuse me beta.. I mean doctor", Dadi called out to Geet.
"It's Geet ma'm".
Savitri Devi smiled, "You really don't have to stay back because of me Dr. Geet"
Geet was surprised, "Oh no, it is not a problem, really. Part of my job."
"You have done that. And I am old enough to know that this is not going to get better just by stopping you here. Go out, have your night out or else I will feel guilty."
Geet, "No ma'm. I will be alright. Besides who else will give you company here?"
Dadi took her hand lovingly and replied with a smile, "Don't you worry about that. Not only am I blessed with a lovable paranoid son, I have a grandson who beats his father to that. He is on his way as we speak and he wont care about your hospital rules and will stay with me the whole night"
Geet laughed, "you are a lucky dadi!"
"That I am", she winked.
"So it's ok if I leave then?", Geet asked doubtfully
"Of course beta".
Geet gave the chief nurse and the physiotherapist special instructions to check on dadi every hour and left in a hurry dialling Nain Tara on her way. She took the stairs without waiting for the elevators. As the elevator reached the sixth floor, Maan Singh Khurana saw a glimpse of a woman dressed in a sky blue kurti talking on the phone hurrying down the stairs knocking over two people on her way. Her face was not clearly visible, but he shook his head at that careless woman. What a mess!
NT was waiting in her blue Brio at the parking lot impatiently. Geet ran upto her and sat on the car panting.
"What a day!", she mumbled resting her back on the front seat and closing her eyes peacefully still taking long breaths.
"You done, then?", NT inquired.
"Yep, lets get out..."Geet couldn't agree more."Where are we going?"
"There is this MK's place on the way at Preet Vihar..I heard it's good and quiet",NT paused quizzically.
"Fine let's go there and make some noise then!"
Geet hi-fived and off they went.

Maan Singh Khurana was angry the moment he saw his dadima on the bed alone! Where the hell was the doctor who was in charge of taking care of her? His eyes spat fire as he walked towards dadi, "Such irresponsibility dadima! What sort of people are these? Come one let's leave this place now and find a better hospital"
Dadima rolled her eyes,"Maan, I can't move an inch from this place and no doctor could relieve me from this pain at the speed that you desire!"
Maan sighed, "But you said there was a doctor here"
Dadi replied in the same attitude, "And I said you don't have to come here"
Maan sat next to her, "How could I not?"
Savitri Devi's old wrinkled eyes smiled kindly. "I know beta you are worried. But I am fine!"
Maan frowned,"you won't be in a hospital if you are fine. And I will take care of that irresponsible doctor who ditched you"
"You will do no such thing Maan!", dadi retorted. "I told her to leave"
"Why would you do that?" Maan didn't like that. Didn't she want to get better?
"Poor girl was just leaving after her whole day duty from yesterday night. And your dad wanted her to stay back today as well. She was cancelling all her plans for the night. And you know Maan I can't let people not have their fun because of me!"
Now he was infuriated. "She left because she wanted to have FUN?"
"Uffoo. beta just because you don't have any fun doesn't mean no one is allowed to have that! She left because I told her to do so!"
Dadi's tone was final and Maan knew he had to surrender. "Fine", he muttered taking her wrinkled hand in his.
Dadi, "Did you run all this way to fight with me when I am ill"
Maan smiled. "No..ofcourse not. Talk to me. I am here all night to give you company."
Dadi shifted a little bit and winced in pain. "Should I call the doctor?", Maan immediately inquired.
Dadi gave him a warning look, "She told me not to move and there is a small dose of painkiller too but if I stop feeling pain then I would not rest so she warned about this. All I have to do is rest now. Maan, your dadi is getting old now. Make peace with that."
"Stop talking like that dadi", he caressed her wrinkled hand and his heart congested with fear, Yes she is getting old, he thought.
"If you so much want to move the earth and sky for me why don't you make my dream come true?"
Maan rolled his eyes. Sometimes his dadi had the talent of tricking people into her traps. "You know my answer dadi"
Dadi was not one to give up,"It won't hurt to ask not when I am ageing..and in pain"
Isn't she the queen of melodrama, thought Maan. But he had to get out of her trap, "You can't coax me into a marriage and you know that."
This time Maan was the firm one and dadi had no choice but to give up. "Life doesn't end with first love, you know"
That really hurt him. "It's not about that. She would have stayed if she was meant to be mine. I know that now. But now I can't think of those things in my life. Let's just say my priorities shifted."
Dadi measured her words carefully, "which is to conquer your own father?"
Maan didn't look at her. It was a forbidden topic. May be she was right. He shouldn't have come here, "What has that to do with marriage dadima?"
Dadi, "You know that better than me Maan beta. If you are planning to build an empire don't you think there must be an heir to it."
Dadi was playful now, the bitterness of their early talks slightly melting. Only she could do that to him. Maan couldn't help the faint smile on his lips, "Well, there is Dev. He is the one who is there to make heirs for all our empires. The prefect son, grandson and brother!"
Dadi laughed, "Stop teasing your poor brother like that"
Maan was totally in the mood now, "What? Don't you ever wonder, there must be some flaw in him. Hell, I always do!"
Dadi pulled his ear laughing. She was glad to see this playful side of her grandson. It was so rare these days.
"Jokes apart Maan, I was thinking about Dev's marriage. I mean I don't know when I can convince you..we will get to that but I think it's time we had a wedding in the family and Dev looks ready. Do you have any problem with that son?"
Maan made a relieved face, "As long as you are off my back, I have absolutely no issues."
Dadi playfully slapped his cheek. And so the dadi and her grandson continued their chit-chat into the night until Maan got a call from work!
"Maan sir, save us. Thi..thi this woman..says she will shut our restaurant...he he he sirrr", on the other end was the ever so loyal assistant of Maan, Aditya Sharma who was the managing head of all the three restaurants.
"Adi! What's going on?" The firm voice of his boss stopped Adi's nervous laughter.
"Sorry sir but this woman is really threatening us", Adi replied in a rather composed tone.
"Who..which woman?"he inquired confining all his rage to his eyes in front of his dadima.
"A Geet Handa sir. Dr. Geet Handa" Adi replied nervously realising the anger at the other end of the line.
