Life has a very strange way of dealing with things. What is life? I wonder many times, it's a journey; an endless journey. What has life given me till now? Nothing it has given me nothing. All it has done is taken from me. Since I was a kid all I did is give, give and give. I am fed up of giving ... all through my life I have given others sacrificing my own desires, as a daughter I gave everything what I could to my parents, as a wife I was devoted and always tried to make my husband comfortable, as a mother ... yes as a mother my kids gave me happiness, the more I loved them the more they loved me back. But alas they say all good things come to an end... and from here I concluded that life is an endless journey where you give happiness just to get in return the pain.
Every one blames me for everything I am undergoing; I just feel like running away and one day I finally left everyone behind; I can no longer live with my police officer husband, I was tolerating him just because of my two kids; now that they are no more, I am free. I did not know where I will go; even my parents do not support me. They believe in Rahul's pretence. Though my best friend Nandini can see through his lies, but she was helpless; her husband Devendra was a business man and needed police support quite often. They had to seek my husband's support as I never support them. So I am alone in this whole world full of my well-wishers. I wanted to leave my job but my boss didn't allow me, instead he gave in an indefinitely long break saying that I may leave the town but I will be never off my duty.
My thoughts came to a halt by the arrival of the train; I looked around to find passengers hurrying, I slowly got up and treaded towards the general coach. By the time I reached the coach the train started moving, I hurriedly stepped and someone pulled me in; I did not look up but bundled myself in the corner covering my face with the veil and clutched my bag. As I dozed I heard some sounds which indicated an argument, and someone tapped my shoulder, I skipped several heart beats.
HELLO ALL

CHAPTER 2
I looked fearfully in the direction of that person who had tapped my shoulder, and sighed he was the ticket collector. "Do you have a ticket he asked in an annoyed voice, I took a deep breath and nodded showing him my ticket.
He smiled and said, "You can go and sit, there are few vacant seats I just nodded and went to the seats he had pointed at and quietly sat down, trying to make myself invisible. I had a long way to go; the last station of the train was Jammu Tawi where it would reach in 37 hrs 10 mins. Slowly I was lost in a dreamless sleep.
I did not know for how long I slept but when I woke up it was dark, the train was at Mehsana, and I instinctively looked at my watch just to find I have left every piece of ornaments behind. I mentally calculated the time; it must around 9:20 pm. My stomach was growling, it has been full 24 hours since I have eaten anything. I decided to buy something to eat and called a vendor and brought dhokla and tea; though it was not enough I did not buy more as I had little cash.
As the train rolled I tried to sleep but failed; I had had enough sleep, I looked around and found a man staring at me, I instinctively recognised him, though at that time I have not looked at his face still I knew that he was the same man who pulled me in.
I became conscious, he looked a bit familiar, but I don't remember ever seeing him. Why did he look familiar? He had a handsome face; does he look like some actor? I did not realise that I was staring and then he smiled, I was like ... I don't know what, his eyes were smiling and then he closed those big eyes of his and soon was asleep. I felt odd and for the rest of the night my thoughts weaved around the fact that why he was staring at me? Why was he looking familiar? I was un consciously keeping a watch on him, unable to sleep. Next morning at Degana he stepped out and returned with a packet and 2 cups of tea. I tried not to look at him and stared at my hand bag.
"Here have tea and something to eat, a handsome voice startled me. It was his voice, I looked around to see who he was referring to, "I am talking to you lady, he said, I looked at him, "take it, he continued with an authoritive tone, I crawled back, "do not fear lady, he was smiling again, he had a beautiful smile. I did not know what to do, I mustered some courage and said, "Look Mister, I do not know you and I don't talk to strangers funny I myself am a stranger to myself; do I know who I am?
"Ok, let's start with introductions, I am Maan and I am going to Jammu Tawi he smiled, that smile could kill. How could anyone refuse when he smiled so innocently? I sighed and took the cup from his hand, he sat beside me and gave me the packet, and I slowly opened it to find Choorma and Baati with pickles in it. What can he take from me? I don't have much cash and my bag contained only 2 sets of clothes. I thanked him and ate the breakfast silently. I did not remember ever being asked for breakfast by anyone, it was I who had to see to the need of others. I liked that this stranger, sorry Maan cared that I had something to eat, for whatever reasons.
"So what is your name? he asked me, I looked at him and said, "Ga.. Geet I cannot tell him my real name, I am no more Gazal, and I need a new name; a new identity.
"Ok, but I do not think this is your real name and he laughed, his laughter was more passionate then his smile. I lowered my eyes feeling uneasy. "It's ok, Geet is a good name, it means Gazal, I was shocked but oblivious to this he continued, and nothing is wrong in hiding your true name, after all I am a stranger his eyes were glowing with humour.
I looked at him in awe. He was just opposite to the men I have known all my life, he seemed caring, who in the world today when even family members don't understand you, this stranger came to my rescue, he was even offering him food. We talked about many things from politics to serials to society etc. never once talking about our personal lives. That is the other thing that most of the talking was done by him, my participation was minimum. At Hisar we had our lunch and at Ludhiana our dinner; and finally at 1:15am we reached Jammu Tawi. I slowly stepped down the train taking my own time, I was not in a hurry, it was dark and I sat there on the bench not able to decide what to do, where to go at this odd hour.
