CHAPTER 5 (LAST PART)

As much as Maan tried he couldn't help but let out the giggle he so wanted to muffle by biting his cheeks from inside.

Despite being fully aware of the fact that how filmy Geet can be, clearly blinded by her love for Hindi movies, Maan never thought that she would, one day, go on her knees to propose, that is when she would finally decide on confessing to him.

But he also had to admit that he was overwhelmed by this gesture of hers. He was actually feeling on cloud 9, no no no, maybe cloud 10 after the events of the day. God had indeed decided to be *meherbaan* on him that particular day, something he was more than happy about.

"Maan, am still on my knees stupid. Would you care to answer me a bit fast, please?" Geet ended on an irritating tone.

Deciding to play a bit with her, for all the time she unconsciously tormented him, Maan replied:

"That's what I'm thinking about, see lifelong decision hain, I can't put any thing at risk." Maan could see Geet's mouth forming an *O*.

"That's so mean. Itna time lena hain, then why do you keep chanting that you love me and will wait for me whatever," Geet snapped back.

Finally placing his hand on top of hers and making her stand up on her feet, Maan calmly yet huskily replied:

"Yeh sab jaanti ho, then why did you have to ask me that, huh? You knew my answer beforehand na?" he completed with a wink to which Geet turned into a deep hue of red.

"But ab jab you have asked the question, then I think, the answer will be Yes only." he coolly continued as Geet looked up at him.

"I love you Maan," Geet nearly screamed before taking Maan into a tight hug, which Maan responded along with a *hmmm* from his side.

When no other reply came from him, Geet broke the hug to give him a consternated look.

"What???" Maan asked her on receiving a questioning look.

"What what? Weren't you supposed to reply me back?" Geet asked with a pout.

"Reply???? For what???"

"Maaan," Geet hissed.

"Acha woh!!!! Well *I love you* had never been a question other than a statement for which a reply is needed, in the first place. And secondly, Thank you very much for loving me, I love me too," Maan finished with a wide grin while Geet fumed in front of him.

"Go to hell Maan, I hate you." Geet said, turning her back to him as her eyes nearly brimmed with tears.

Ooopppsies, I shouldn't have gone this far, Maan thought, cursing himself for being responsible for the tears in her eyes once again.

Wrapping his arms around her waist from the back, Maan said in a soft voice:

"With you along, I'm ready to go anywhere *ma bien-aimee* "

Geet felt a knot tightened inside as her butterfly-like sensations returned to her once again. With Maan around, they were bound to come to her all the time, she told herself.

Turning around, she looked at Maan only to find immense love and respect for her oozing from his eyes. Without much ado, she hugged him with all the love she had for him, which he reciprocated with equal fervor by tightening his hold around her.

As they again sat beside the fire, waiting for the light to come back, Maan and Geet went over the past moments which consisted of bittersweet memories. They could not believe how they had reached such a stage when they used to despise each other with all their might. Ironic, they told themselves.

When the fire went off after a while, it didn't take long for Geet, who was in her sleeveless PJs, to feel the chill running through her veins as she started rubbing herself despite sitting beside Maan.

Being the gentleman that his love for Geet had transformed him into, Maan removed his shirt while he had his vest on, which he put around Geet.

"Maan, yeh kya kiya, are not you feeling cold now?" Geet asked in a concerned voice.

"Not with you this close to me Geet," he replied sending Geet to her dreamland yet again.

Gosh, yeh kitna romantic ban gaya hain, Yash Chopra ke Heros ki tarah. Meri life toh set hain, Geet told herself while she let out a chuckle amused by what she had already started thinking, before cuddling into Maan once again as they resumed their conversation.

When Geet's yawns became continuous, Maan knew that it was finally time for her to be in bed. Already she had been awake for so long, which was so unlike Geet. Lifting her in her arms, to which Geet didn't deny since she was already in a semi-sleepy state, Maan made his way towards her room in KM. Even in the darkness, he knew his way perfectly.

As he opened the room's door and entered inside, Geet's voice made him stop.

"Maan, tumhaaara dil, hamesha itna zor se *dhak dhak* karta hain kya?" she asked innocently in a drowsy voice as her head was placed on his chest while she was in his arms.

Amused by her innocent question, Maan replied:

"Only when you around Geet"

Even in her sleepy state, Geet turned into crimson red with his answer and Maan knew she was blushing profusely as he could feel the heat on his chest coming from her cheeks.

Placing her on the bed, Maan moved away for a while to light up the candles as he knew Geet would never sleep in complete darkness.

When he finished with the scented candles, he came back to her and tucked her properly under her duvet and started moving away when he felt a tug on his hand.

Looking back, he saw Geet in a sitting position:

"Mujhe chod ke mat jao Maan, stay here itself na?" she said in a low voice.

Reaching her, Maan once again tucked her in replying :

"Am here itself Geet, now go to sleep."

With this, she turned to sleep, but not before placing Maan's hand under her head while he patted her to sleep.

As Maan watched her sleeping, he finally felt at peace, contented with the happenings and her confession to him while the candles flickered in the room, expressing their joy for the two blessed lovers.
