CHAPTER 9
"Har ek friend kamina hota hai... Arere har ek friend kamina hota hai," Arjun kept singing on their way home, holding an appletiser bottle in his hand, which he pretended to be an alcoholic one as he took a sip from every now and then.
"Yaar Arjun!!! Stop this nonsense of yours," Dev said annoyingly, fed up of his drama. "You're not even a melodious singer by the way. Mere kaan pak gaye!!!"
"Leave him Dev, he'll be normal by tomorrow," Yash said as he shook his head at Arjun's comedy. Ever since their class ended, he has been after them for not speaking up for them- more specifically him when Geet gave Adi, Maan and him a punishment. "Chal!!! We've reached my home. See you tomorrow," he said as they did their signature hand shake.
"Yaar Arjun, aaja..." He motioned him for a handshake.
"Har ek friend kamina hota hai arerere Har ek friend kamina hota hai"
"Khair choro," Yash let out, "waise, your house comes after his, right?" he realised. "All the best Dev," he added with a chuckle.

"Sasha!!! Get the damn file RIGHT NOW!!!" Maan growled at his new Assistant - earlier Sasha used to report to Adi's father but ever since Geet left, a little bit of restructuring was done and Sasha was taken to work under Maan directly.
"Y-y-yes Sssir," Sasha fumbled with her words as she literally ran out of his cabin.
"Sasha, tumhein kab se Adi ki bimaari lagi?" Tasha teased her for her stammering.
"Shut up Tasha," she immediately replied. "But what's the matter with MK? Bahut gusse mein lag rahe the yaar," she added as she thought what could be the reason.
"Chal Adi se poochte hai," Tasha suggested, "they both just returned from their class together."
"Theek hain. Let me give that file to MK first. And find out where's Adi!!!" Sasha said.
"Reception pe hoga aur kahan," Tasha said casually, inviting a giggle from Sasha.

"Geet ne sachi mein aisa kiya?" Pinky asked in bewilderment, not really believing what Adi just told her.
"Did we just hear Geet???" Sasha asked while Tasha gasped taking both Adi and Pinky by surprise.
"Errr w-w-wohhh, ummm," Adi found himself at a loss of words while Pinky just stared at her table, not wanting to be questioned next.
"Adi, when you fumble like this, toh shak yakeen mein badal jata hai ke zaroor koyi baat hai and that you're concealing something," Tasha said as she lifted her right eyebrow to him.
"Out with it, Mister!!!" Sasha ordered crossing her arm around her chest. Adi ki senior hone ka kuch toh fayda utha hi sakti hoon na!!!

"OMG!!! I can't believe this," Tasha exclaimed as the four sat around a table in the office's canteen while Sasha couldn't stop laughing.
"Control yourself Sasha, sab yahan dekhne lage hai," Pinky whispered finding themselves the centre of attraction.
"Aur haan please don't tell Maan Sir about this. He will be more angry than embarrassed knowing that you are all aware of that punishment thing and kahin meri naukri khatre mein na pad jaye. Tab shayad Papa bhi mujhe na bacha paye," Adi pleaded as he wiped the sweat on his forehead.
"Chill yaar!!! Waise yeh sab Geet ke ilaawa aur koyi kar hi nahi sakti. MK ke pyaar ka poora fayda uthati hai woh," Sasha spoke as she finished her laughing session.
"What Rubbish!!! Hottie aur Geet??? Na main nahi maanti," Tasha immediately said.
"Uska toh pata nahi, but Geet does love him," Pinky said in the lowest voice possible although the other 3 did manage to catch that.
"Tum sab pagal ho chuke ho," Adi finally said as Sasha and Pinky waived their hands at him. "Geet agar Sir se pyaar karte toh humse- specially Maan Sir se, aise behave nahi karti," he let out as he thought about the moment they were out of the class, kneeling while other students, not all, but some, laughed at them . "Maan Sir is friendly with all staff, that doesn't mean ke woh har ek doosre se pyaar karte phire, aur agar woh Geet se pyaar karte bhi the, toh in sab ke baad I don't think that *pyaar* still holds," he added confidently.
"Chal Pinky, these 2 are blind it seems," Sasha said as she stood up, signalling Pinky to get back to their work, leaving both Adi and Tasha in their thoughts.
"Naaa!!! Sawaal hi nahi hota," both exclaimed in unison after some time.

"Dadima, I'm home," Maan said loudly as he entered KM.
"How was your day?" he asked her as he hugged her from the back while she was seated on a sofa in the living room, chatting with Annie and Vicky, and he planted a kiss on her cheek.
"Good as usual bete. Aayiye, baithiye thodi der hamare paas," she answered as she patted the empty place next to her.
"Aaahhh," Maan yelped in pain, clutching his leg as he threw himself beside Dadima.
"Sambhal ke bete," Dadima said in concern. Maan was walking to the front when he hit his left knee to the mini table beside the sofa. The impact being hard, he yelled in pain causing the closest 3 people in his life to look at him in concern.
"Bhaiii aap ko choth toh nahi aayi," Annie started in a concerned voice. "Lagta hai aaj aap ke din hi kharab hai. Dekho na, abhi aap iss table se takraa gaye aur pehle class mein aap ko punishment mil..." Annie bit her tongue realising what she just said.
"What???" Dadima and Vicky exclaimed at the same time while Maan was fuming. How did she know??? Who the hell told her this???
"Maan Bete aap ko punishment mili???" Dadima asked for a confirmation.
"Errr Dadima, Woh ummm, I," Maan fumbled, being caught in an embarrassed situation.
"Maan Bhai!!! Don't tell me, I mean seriously you have been punished??? Wow!!! This should be tomorrow's headlines. MSK - CFO of KCABA, punished in class," Vicky joked as he gave a hi-5 to Dadima while a nervous Annie tried thinking of an escape. Shit Annie!!! Zambaan ko kaaboo mein rakhna seekh, she mentally reprimanded herself.
"Waise aap ko punishment kyon mili bete," Dadima asked wanting to know what could have been the reason. Maan has always been his teachers' favorite, being a studious boy. Then how come???
"Yeh sawaal aap Annie se hi kyun nahi poochte," Maan let out, in an irritated tone. "Aur Annie Ki bachi, tujhe yeh kaise pata," Maan asked her wondering whether it could have been Adi. After all, Annie did come to meet him in KCABA earlier that day. Maybe she met Adi there. Adi tu toh gaya, Maan thought.
"Woh ummm main m--maaa-maain," she fumbled.
"Ab bakri Ki tarah main main kyun kar rahi. Batao mujhe," Maan growled at her while Vicky and Dadima preferred staying silent.
Jaldi se kuch soch Annie. Warna Bhai won't leave you, she told herself.
"Woh Bhai meri Joh dost hai Na Pari, toh...toh...toh...haaan!!! Toh uski Joh choti behen hai Na Pia...wohi jisse aap zyada passand nahi karte, the one who calls you Dhak Dhak, usss..." She tried forming an excuse.
"Aur uss bewaqoof ladki ko Kaise pata chala?" Maan again questioned.
"Woh Arjun Ki girlfriend hai, wohi joh aap ke class mein hai," she replied in one go scared of Maan's tone.
"I see!!!" Maan replied.
"Aaahhh" she silently screamed in pain as Vicky stomped his feet on hers. "What???" She asked in a whisper.
"Arjun kab se Pia Ki Boyfriend bana?" He asked her. Then it dawned unto her. Shittt!!!! Yeh Kya bol diya. Vicky simple rolled his eyes at her. Ab ek aur musseebat, he thought.
"Woh Bh-bhaa," Annie tried rectifying but was interrupted by Maan.
"Uss bewaqoof Pia ke liye woh idiot Arjun hi theek hai," Maan said irritatingly. Radio FM kahi ka.
"Teri Arjun ko idiot bola," Vicky mockingly whispered to Annie.
"Teri bhi Pia ko Bewaqoof bola," Annie shot back to him, feeling angry on herself for putting them in this situation. Sorry Arjun, she mentally apologized wondering what Maan will tell him.

"Geet, don't you think you're being a bit too harsh on Maan Sir?" Pinky asked Geet as they sat on their sofa in the TV Room, under a duvet, munching on their popcorn, watching Conjuring 2.
"Huh?" Geet looked at her. "What do you mean?"
"Adi told me everything Geet. Kuc..."
"Oh toh woh tumse meri chugli karta hai. Next class mein dekhloongi usse," she said as she fisted her hand.
"Chod Na yaar. I think kuch zyaada ho raha hai," Pinky tried explaining.
"Matlab???" Geet asked, pretending not to understand.
"Meaning even you know that," Pinky said as she shook her head at Geet's antics. "Dekh Geet, whatever happened that day, you really blew that silly..." She tried changing her words as Geet glared at her. "Eerrr I mean small... Theek hai... You really blew that small matter out of proportion."
"Oh really Pinky???" Geet asked amazed that her friend was siding him. Ahhh he is her boss after all, she thought with a frown. No wonder she is advocating him.
"Dekh just like us, tujhe bhi pata hai, ke he just asked you to move out of the meeting room, but your ego took it as something else totally..."
"But he could have apologized at least," she complained.
"Haan maafi maangne ke liye hi yeh sab... Errr I mean if he didn't apologize then also you could have returned, kaunsi aafat aajaati," she continued as she realised she wasn't cutting her off like she used to earlier whenever this topic would crop up.
"Aur Geet... Tujhe pata hai Sasha Kya keh rahi thi?" She tried her luck.
"Kya?" Geet asked.
"Ke Maan Sir tu---tujhe... Woh Tujhse pyar karte hai," she said.
"What???" Geet exclaimed not believing what she just heard.
"Haan she really said this. Though I didn't tell her that you also love him but zara soch Geet, Maan Sir tujhse pyaar karte hai Aur tu un ke saath yeh sab..." Pinky finished in a low tone.
Suddenly Geet felt suspicious. Is she saying this to save Adi???
"Aur Sasha ko yeh baat kaise pata," she inquired.
"Maan Sir ne khood bataya usse," she partially lied. Sorry Sasha.
Seeing Geet furrowing her eyebrows at her, she continued "Areh, after you went, Maan Sir took her as his assistant toh bas aise... Geet don't you trust me Kya??? Main toh tujhse jhoot kabhi nahi bolti na," she made an innocent face. "Ab dekho na, tum Sir ko class mein kitna irritate karti ho, it's been over a week now, but still he didn't complain about you. Although he could do that, being close to the school's Director. But unhone aisa nahi kya... Toh iska kya matlab huwa Geet..." Pinky added seeing she was being convinced by her words.
"Par Pinky, he never t..." Geet spoke up but she was cut in between by Pinky.
"Par war kuch nahi Geet, take your time and think about what I just said. Main toh sone chali," she said as she stood up.
"Do think about it...ok Geet," Pinky said again, patting Geet's back before moving towards her bedroom. Let me inform Sasha before Geet question her, she mentally made a note.
That night; Geet kept tossing in bed, pondering over Pinky's words. "Kya Maan sach mein???" Get some sleep Geet, you need it!!!
As much as she tried though, she couldn't stop thinking about him again that night...after so long. Pinky ki baaton ka jadoo chal hi gaya!!!
