"Love brought them together, when they were Poles Apart"

"Very very remotely based on Cindrella story"

~Dramatis Personae~

Maan: Sixteen years old, the youngest scion of the Khurana Empire

Geet: Fifteen years old, kind hearted princess of her father, very understanding, mature yet innocent in the matters of love.

The Khuranas:

Purushotham Singh Khurana: The grand old head of the Khurana Empire

Savitri Devi Khurana: Purushotham Singh's wife...and Maan's favourite Dadima.

Rajveer Singh Khurana: Purushotham's youngest son and current CEO of the Khurana Empire, including Khurana Petroleum, Khurana Constructions, Khurana Transport ...just to name a few.

Sakshi Khurana: Rajveer's wife...mum to Maan.

Balveer Singh Khurana: Abdicated from the business, and became a hermit, and lives in an ashram in Haridwar.

Dev and Anwesha Khurana: Balveer's kids now adopted by Rajveer and Sakshi. They are twenty-five years old and are twins.

Asha Khurana Shekhawat: Only daughter of Purushotham and Savitri Devi, married into the Ramgarh royal family (fictitious). She is their pampered daughter, and hence the arrogance reflects in her nature, which we shall find in the story ahead.

Udayveer Shekhawat: Asha's husband, King of Ramgarh.

Ved, Akshara and Anubhuti: Their children, 22, 20, and 19 respectively.

Handas:

Mohinder Handa: A small shopkeeper, selling books and stationery in the small town.

Rano Handa: Late wife of Mohinder, and mother to Geet.

Manpreet Handa: Mohinder's second wife and Geets stem-mum

Priya and Piyush: 18 and 20 years old. Manpreet's kids from a previous marriage.

Friends:

Meera Rajput: Geet's bestest friend since they were in diapers. Also her neighbour.

Also Shweta Mehra, Pankhudi, Neha - all Geet's friends

Aditya Bhatt : Maan's best friend

Pulkit, Ajith, Karan, Pari and a whole loads of them ... Maan's other friends

Other Mentions:

Pinki: Geet's distant cousin

Mrs Mukherjee: Geets neighbour other than Meera's family

Nakul: The Khurana household butler.

Setting:

A small town somewhere in India.

Maan is having his two months winter vacation, and has come from some big boarding school in London, along with his friends. His family decides to take a holiday together and also to host the grand wedding of Dev in this small town where they have their ancestral haveli.

Let us begin this story of two little people who are poles apart...

Note: Guys I am trying to write another story after a long time. Please do comment and tell me if you want such a story. I have left some stories mid way cuz i ran out of ideas...but now i want to try again for Maneet.

CHAPTER ONE

Not so

The Big Wedding

^

...

The servants dispersed back to their quarters, once all the arrangements were complete in the big mansion, to get ready themselves. The decorations were supervised by a specially selected event management company from the Big city, and so were the catering and other things. The mansion was emanating exuberance and elegance, after all it was the wedding of Dev Singh Khurana, the grandson of Mr Purushotham Singh Khurana, who commanded the Khurana business empire since 1955. But, sometimes looks can be deceptive.

"Chauhan, tell them Khuranas don't do business with defaulters. NO...you do as I say, and tell themto stay away," barked Purushotham Khurana on his phone, and discarded it on the bed.

Savitri Devi Khurana, his beloved wife scans his face, wrinkled not only with old age, but with anuntold worry. She knew what was irritating her husband, she didnt need aninterpreter for that.

"Aap aaj ke din tohbusiness ki batein chod dijiye. Aaj humare Dev ki shaadi hai aur aap?" shespoke, brushing his creased sherwani.

"Savitri, aap jantihai ki hum iss shaadi se, iss rishtey se bilkul bhi..."

...Suddenly, there was arap on the door...

"Dadu Dadi jaldichaliye, Naina di ki family aa chuki hai," cried an excited looking Akshara.😃

Well I wouldnt go intothe details about the tension and all. Dev is marrying Naintara Rathore afterhaving a secret affair with her, hiding it from both the families. And well nowNaintara is expecting. The Khurana family is not at all happy with thisalliance, since Nanintara's father Mr Rahul Rathore is the P A of RajveerKhurana (Maan's dad)...and you all can guess the rest.

Maan was aloof from allthis drama busy in his world. He loved music, played many instruments, rodehorses (all his boarding school grooming) and read hardcore business magazineseven at this young age, after all he had decided to run the Khurana business, and had informed the same to his grandfather, when he was just nine.

He had turned sixteen now, andwas an enigma to everyone, including his family.

He was mind you veryintelligent, but arrogant, and sometimes very cold, yet deep down had a beatingheart with flesh and blood. He wanted to become a shrewd businessman like his idol, his grandfather; and the first thing he learnt was to rip off all emotions, andsomewhere in this self restraining, he was becoming harsh and stone like. Inspite of all this, he was well-mannered and never lost his cool in front of hisfamily, but with his friends he was different.

In his room:

His mum was tidying hissherwani, and ran the comb through his ruffled hair, which he abhorred, butcomplied without a single retort. He didn't complain, he never did in front ofhis parents, or grand parents. Since he was the youngest in the family, everyone saw him as a child, even though they knew what he was capable of.

"Maan you look sohandsome," his mum praised overwhelmed with pride and love. She didn'tknow girls would swoon and faint over his killer looks even at this age. He gotthat all the time, but when your mum says that you get embarassed, and Maanjust ignored.

She smiles, does hisnazar utarna and all that, and leaves, telling him to get down for the marriagesoon.

All his sisters(cousins) were huddled up in one room, dressing up non-stop, gossiping aboutlatest make up tutorials, weddings and all that. Boys (cousins) were all lazing aroundin Dev's room, some even sleeping all dressed up.

Marriage/Wedding

The two families met,but the discomfort was evident and so were the cold vibes.

Mrs and Mr Rathode wereembarassed and Khuranas looked dejected rather than happy, a stark contrast with thelively decorations and music. They put up with the marriage celebrations forthe sake of their children, who were extremely happy.

Purushotam Khurana,Rajveer Khurana and Rahul Rathore (Naina's father) left soon after the marriage ceremony ended, not waiting for the later functions/rituals. There was some IT raid in one oftheir companies.

But, the guests gossipedabout the friction, and about Naina being greedy for money and hence trappingDev into this marriage. These people were all modern and educated, but thereminds were filthy. The Khurana women completely ignored them and gave all theirlove to Naintara.

Thank God Naina was busywith Dev and his cousins, excluding our HERO.

...Meanwhile, Maan snuckout the mansion with his dog PRINCE. He needed to take a break from all thehulla-balloo. The weather was pleasant and he just loved it. He decided to takea round of the entire town next morning, and informed the same to his friends.
