Mini OS: Kaun Ho Tum
Tucking the sweet soft tendrils of her baby girl, Geet leaned back on the bed beside her and looked down into her inquisitive brown eyes.
"Cinderella just freaked out...*giggles* The Fairy Godmother had warned her that the magic will stay till the midnight...the clock was just about to struck 12 and there, the prince was not ready to leave her hand" Geet went on to explain the Cinderella story which was the today's bedtime agenda for Manpreet. Though earlier, she had heard it from Geet so many times, still every time, she would look just as amazed and fully engrossed into the story as the first time.
"Did Cinderella make it in time, Mama?" Manpreet inquired fully showing her brown orbs.
"Oh she tried...The clock struck 12...the first sound of the bell came and getting her hand freed, she ran out from the hall..."
"But the prince ran behind her..."
"Yes! He does..." Geet continued to tell the story to her real life princess but both girls were too engrossed into the story that they totally missed noticing Maan, who was leaning to the door of his daughter's room and was hearing there babyish tone of discussion. Though he had came to check on Manpreet and get Geet but there discussion, kept him at bay.
A smile of contentment was placed on his lips. At the end of a busy day, that's what was his real earning. The smile and happiness on those faces he loves deeply. Those were his Girls. Just his to adore.
Not being an intruder, he turned and went back to his room.
Laying in his lonely bed, he remembered how Geet came into his life. How he was made to meet her for an arrange marriage and how instantly, he had felt a pull towards her.
~FlashBack.~
Dil hai ki maanta nahin is dil pe kiska zor hai
Teri aur khicha ja raha hoon jaane yeh kaisi dor hai
Tumko hai kuch ho gaya aahein mein aahein bharte ho
Deewane ho tum deewani deewani baat karte ho
Hum to chalo hum to chalo deewane sahi par apni baato kaun ho tum
Holding a tray in her hand, leading by her cousins, Geet made her way from the kitchen to the living room where family was sitting with a marriage proposal for her.
Her mother earlier in the morning had a session with her in which all the Do's and Don't were told. Though she was not a particular shy person, she was not outgoing too. Geet knew her family and always had abide by there values. She trusted her mother and that's why, let her decide her life partner.
Though it was looking easy earlier, but right then, she was feeling a pool of nerves. Jitters, Nervousness.
So instead of looking ahead at the prospected groom, she kept her head bowed down and concentrate on the tea cups, making sure that they doesn't spill due to her shaky hands.
"And that's my daughter, Geet..." The pride in her mother's voice was too evident but then she also felt the stares fixed on herself.
"Geet, beta serve our guests" Geet nodded and went on to serve the tea to an old couple, which she assumed were His parents.
"Thank you beta...she looks as beautiful as we have seen in the pic ". His mother told his father and in reply, all Geet did was smile.
Taking a step on left, a familiar face came into her view as it was that uncle who was arranging this marriage. Geet had seen him visiting his mom twice from the past one month.
"Hello uncle..."
"Hello beta...Even though I am the middle man here, but I am also Maan's Mamu" He smiled taking hold of the cup and urging Geet to move ahead.
And that's when she took a sneak peak of the Man in discussion. Maan Singh Khurrana, leaving all others aside was busy looking at her.
She waited for a minute but when he didn't hold the cup, looked up finally.
"Tea?" She almost whispered that made him get back to his senses. Looking around, he noticed that all eager eyes were on them and now were also adoring meaningful smiles.
Turning back, he quickly held the cup and the next instant, Geet moved away from him.
"Wah beta g...Pehli bar main hi dil har gaye" His Mamu had whispered making his ears turn red in blush. Gosh! He was way to easy to read.
The Discussions followed from one topic to another. He was lead out to meet Geet but she was too hesitant to ask anything and he was too busy adoring her to question.
Later, when he was questioned, all he could say was a clear "Yes" that made his family jump in joy. The really had liked Geet too. Geet's mom, Suhani also went into Geet room to know about her decision. Though, it was an arrange marriage but Suhani wanted to make sure, Geet is happy with this arrangement. And Geet was so not going to say No.
On her acceptance, Suhani turned to kitchen and enter back into the living room holding a box of sweets that automatically delivered Geet's answered to the others. Few shouts were made, few hugs were exchanged, few sweet bites were take and before they all knew it, Maan and Geet were sitting side by side for there Roka ceremony.
~FlashBack Ends.~
He remembered how beautifully his life has changed from then on. She proved out to be the light of his life. Her smiles were infectious and her touch, sizzling. He doesn't remember how could he survived without her till then. It's been 5 years to there marriage and each day, she had bring a new kind of happiness and excitement for him.
Busy in his thoughts, he didn't realize when she entered the room and closed the door. He only realized when her arms came around him and her head got settled on his chest.
"Your daughter is such a chatterbox...It's getting too hard to pacify her questions with silly answers... She demands logic just like you..." Geet complained with closed eyes, making Maan smile as he patted her shoulder before running his fingers in her hairs.
"She might be my logical baby, but she is a chatterbox just like you...I was just thinking and wondering how did you kept yourself quite when me, mom and dad came to see you for the very first time..."
In reply, he just received a pat on his chest.
"Don't tease me...You will know how a girl feels at that time when your own daughter will be at the step of getting married" She replied, only to feel him turn and grasping her in his arms.
"That still has many years to go...Right now, I want to know how my wife feels when I make love to her" And he bend her head down to catch her supple lips into a deep kiss.
-------------------------------
It was a week later when Maan get back home only to find Geet missing. Taking out his phone, he have her a call only to find her cut it.
"On my way back home...will be there in 5 minutes" Her message was next received by him. Putting the phone away on bed, he moved towards washroom to freshen up.
As soon as he get out, he found Geet putting a wrapped gift on the side table.
"What is it?" Rubbing his wet hairs with the towel, he inquired.
The look Geet gave him was an incredulous one.
"You forget it...didn't you?" Raising her brow, she inquired.
"What?"
"Its Manu's birthday tomorrow... " And Maan gasped out loudly. But ignoring his expression, Geet continued.
"How can you? I just reminded you day before yesterday so you could buy a gift for her...but still, you forget it..."
"Geet...Geet Geet...I am sorry yaar...there were so many meetings and things...It completely skipped from my mind" Holding her arms, Maan replied earnestly but she just jerked his hands away.
"Don't say sorry to me...Say it to your daughter who was so looking forward to his Daddy's gift" Geet stomped her foot and left the room to check on the dinner.
Smacking himself mentally, Maan quickly grabbed his mobile and dialed a number.
-------------------------------
All the close relatives has started to gather into the living room of Khurrana house. Geet mother too just arrived along with her younger siblings, Roop and Sudhanshu.
Wearing his blue suit, Maan came out from the room to greet them. The hall was all decorated nicely with balloons and banners with a 3 tier cake standing in the middle. Geet had got all the arrangement done as per Manu's request.
Maan's Attire.
Geet Attire.
Manpreet's Attire.

Soon, their princess came out in the arms of her Daddy, all dressed in the beautiful flared dress, her mother had gotten just for this day.
All the guests greet her with kisses and gave her the gifts in which reply, they get to hear her sweet "Thank you".
Claps were made as Manpreet's take her place once again in her father's arm and cut the cake along with her parents.
"Happy Birthday Princess..." Maan wished her with a kiss before taking out a piece to make her eat.
"Happy birthday my baby" Geet wished hugging her close before sharing the cake with her and Maan.
"Mama...My gift" Manpreet demanded innocently next making her parents smile.
"Ok...so here is my gift..." Geet grabbed the box from the table, she had earlier put it on and gave her.
"Thank you..." Manu smiled widely before turning to look at her father.
"Daddy..." She just said it before they all heard the sound of "Whooff!"
"A puppy...You got me a puppy..." Manpreet jumped up in excitement as Maan's bestfriend Aditiya came in holding a basket.
"Yes...I got you a puppy...Remember, you asked for it...But first...we will get it trained so your Mama don't get to beat us" Maan winked making Manu giggle as she patted the dog with affection.
"You will be a good dog..." But none noticed Geet's anger till
"Manu...go and wash your hand..." Geet said strictly while passing a glare to Maan.
"I will take it back to my car..." Aditiya said sensing the tension and left the room.
But with the guests around, Geet couldn't show her dislike.
---------------------------
As the guests left, Geet changed Manpreet into her night dress and she excitedly jump on her bed to open her gifts.
"First, Mama's one..." And grabbing the gift, she sat beside Geet to see her opening it. As the paper was finally pulled off and the box was opened, Geet heard Manpreet's eyes gone wide.
"Wow...".

"You liked it?" Geet inquired apprehensively just to see Manpreet nodding.
"I thought we can use it next in our Cinderella's story...you know, once it was Mama's...It was gifted to me by my friend...Just like you, I also used to love reading stories...When your Roop maasi and Suddy Mamu were just this little like you...I used to incorporate it in my stories...now it's my Manu's" and Geet pinched her nose, making her smile.
"But this is so not the only gift I have for you..." Geet said, putting the cart to a side and getting up from the bed.
"Now, Manpreet's going to have her own..." and taking two steps away, Geet pulled up the sheets from a figure and then earned her a happy shout from Manpreet.
"My scooty..."

Manu jumped up and down on the bed from springing into Geet's open arms in excitement.
Maan, who just got freshen up, heard Manpreet's shout and rushed into her room.
"Yayyy..." Settling onto her electric charged scooty, Manpreet shout as Geet helped her to start it.
"What's happening here?" Maan inquired with a smile now.
"See Daddy, Mom gave me two gifts...My scooty..." and she kissed the handle before getting up and holding the cart, Geet gifted her earlier. "And this..."
For a moment, Maan was struck seeing the old wooden cart and moved ahead to hold it. Manpreet in her excitement, moved towards the scooty and started it.
"Be careful" Geet warned but Manu was already moving onto it.
"Let me show it to Dada and Dadi..." and before Geet could stop, she was already out from the room.
"Manu...now willn't be able to sleep without showing it to every member..." Geet loved to see her daughter so happy and then started to collect the ruin wrapping paper from the bed.
Tum pe yakin aa gaya yeh kaisa aitbaar hai
Kya hai yeh dil ki bebasi ya naam iska pyaar hai
Yun hi nahin bechain hoon yun hi nahin betaab hoon
Tumne dekha tha jo kal maano wahi main khwaab hoon
Aankhon ne aankhon ne aankhon mein dekh kar yeh pehchaana kaun ho tum
"From where you get this Geet?" Maan inquired finally turning Geet's attention towards himself while his eyes keenly took a precise view of the cart.
"Huh? It was gifted to me when I was around 10...One of my classmates gifted it but Why you want to know?" Geet questioned.
"I want to know because this is the same cart that I have gifted to my best friend when we were in 4th standard..."
Geet felt loss of words as Maan continued.
"Dad was in Army and so we used to shift from one city to another...I was always get admit to boys school but there, in hoshyarpur...when dad was transferred for a year, I went to this Co-ed where for the first time, I had become friend with a girl...I remember I gave it to her only after saving my pocket money for three months straight...See...the horse foot is having a crack..." Maan showed to Geet who hadn't even noticed it in all those years.
"It cracked as before wrapping it, it fell from my hand..." Maan explained.
"Don't...Don't you remember the name of the girl you gifted it?" Geet inquired with a bated heart The past connection of them was making her feel speechless.
"No...actually, I was just there for an year...though we were best friends for that year...but I think I was too young to keep the memory of her name...but I do have few memories of our times" Maan told her with pursed lips.
"Must be someone good that you saved your pocket-money to gift her this...?" Geet inquired with narrow eyes.
"Yes...Between, from where you get it?"
Moving closer, feeling naughty, Geet held his hands and entwined their fingers.
"What if I tell you that It was gifted to me by my bestfriend on my 10th birthday?" Maan look back at her with astonished eyes.
"What?...It...It was you?" Maan inquired only to see Geet grinning back at him.
"Yes...It was me Mr Maan Singh Khurrana...and you know...you just dared to confess infront of your wife that once, there was someone special in your life" Geet gave him a fake warning look.
In reply, Maan put the toy cart away on a side table and pulled her close in his arms.
"I don't regret saying it...plus now, I can proudly say there was just one girl I was firstly attracted to...and there is this one girl, whom I will always be attracted to..." He grinned and moved ahead to place a kiss n her lips when they heard the horn sound from the back.
"Get aside...Get aside" Manpreet said while still riding on her scooty.
Maan and Geet smiled widely seeing their daughter so happy.
-----------------------------
"When I was 12, we shifted from Hoshyarpur to here in Delhi...Dad office has made him branch manager of the bank here...so I lost all the contacts of my earlier friends and so with time, had forget there names too...Here in Delhi, you have your own kind of life" Geet explained snuggling into his chest.
They were sitting on the rocking chair placed in their room, facing towards the glass door of the terrace that was letting moonlight peeped in into the room. Geet was sitting in his lap as he rocked the chair with his feet.
"Hmm...that explains...But still, see our destiny...We were meant to be together...we were made for eachother" Pushing her hairs back from her face, Maan whispered huskily.
"Hmm...we were...Now, I am feeling all the more in love with you" Geet whispered and kissed his cheek, only to hear him groan.
"We need more than a plain kiss to express it..." He muttered before getting up from the chair still holding her, leading her to the bed.
"I love you" Maan whispered making her lay on the bed while she entwined her fingers in his hairs, letting him take a dive in her neck.
