A shadow was running in darkness of night ,, few sounds nd steps wr chasing that with swords which wr shining in d partial light of moon through trees ,, d whole wood became alive with voices nd rustling of dry leaves .
he came out from his tent with a gun in his hand for his protection nd looked around ,, he saw few men with covered faces approached to him ,,the nearer him nd one of them removed his cloth from his face ... Brij handa ...
what he was doing here with these goons .. yes goons they all wr looking like goons nd cruelty was clearly visible in their eyes .
He scanned all nd gave a hard look to Brij ,, who was lil shocked after seeing him but pretend unaffected ,, raised his hand to stop his other partners .
Brij, : we r searching a thief , did u see anyone this side ?
Maan: thief ? ,, no i didn't see .
B: what r u doing in this jungle at this hr?
Maan: why , this is Govt property nd anyone cn enter here ,, i m camping here .
Brij: oh,, any way , be careful ,, this is jungle nd any wild animal cn attack on u ?

they left nd Maan entered in his tent , but he got a shock when he saw a shadow behind his tent ,, he rushed out to check with his gun ,, there was a girl bundled on d ground holding d tent bamboo with her one hand ,, her one hand was on her mouth ,, messy hairs ,, cuts nd blood on back nd hand ... who is she ? Q pooped in his mind ,,, she was looking at other side where goons left ,, Maan slowly nearer her bent nd placed his hand on her shoulder ,, she turned with a gasp nd jerk ...
fear was visible in her almond eyes ,, bruises on her face wr showing that she struggled for her life nd hiding her from those goons ..But Why?
she was looking at him scared ,, he was looking at her confused .. she is Brij sis , then why she is here in this condition ? Why they wanted to kill her ?
Maan: tum !!! tum Geet Handa ho na ?

she fainted nd fall on ground in front of him .
Maan was dumbstruck listening her plight ,, brij wanted to kill his own sis ,, even she thought that he was also with them ,, Gosh !!! what is all this ?
Shocked Maan looked around nd lifted her,, brought her in his tent nd made her lie down on his sleeping bag ,, tied d tent door brought water bottle nd sprinkled some water on Geet's face ,, patted her cheek whispering her name ,, he didn't called her loud fearing that any goon cd be back as brij was saying that his men wr all around ,, this girl safety was his priority ,, though she was thinking him d same .. Brij man , but she cd bcoz he was Anjaan(unknown)to her ,nd so she for him ,, he was hell shocked nd confused with all this fiasco ,,only this girl cd clear d murk ,, he checked her breaths ,, they wr slow , but she was un-concious ,, he tore his shirt nd tied on her wounds which wr bleeding
t cut on her arm was deep , when he tied d cloth on that she flinched in pain nd left weak cry nd sat up with a jerk ,, Maan shushed her placing his palm on her mouth .
Maan whispered : ssshh,, quiet ,, they cn be around ,, don't make any noise ,, u r safe here ,, i won't harm u ,, trust me .
Geet looked at him with wide feared eyes ,, their eyed met trying to read each other emotions ,, something stirred in Maan's heart ,, he averted his gaze , but she was staring at him with Qs .
Next moment they heard a rusting sound of leaves outside ,, she gasped in fear hugged him ,, Maan held her close nd whispered in her ear .. daro nahi ,, mai hoon na ,, they waited silently ,,that may be some wild creature ,, roamed nd went away seeing fire infront of tent .
they parted ,, Maan gave her water to drink , sat near her ,, both wr confused nd Geet was still feared nd looking at him now nd then .
Maan: wo ku tumhare peeche thy ,,ku marna chahaty hein tumhe ? tum to brij ki bahan ho na ?
Geet gulped : tum un logo ke sath nahi ho to kaun ho ?
Maan: pahale meri baat ka jawab do , wo sab ku marna chahaty hei tumhe ?
Geet: uss zameen ke liye jo tum chahaty ho .
Maan confused : lekin wo to kafi din pahale tum bech chuli ho ,, ab to final formalities hein jis per Geet handa , means tumhare sign chahiye ,, mai half payment ker chuka hoon Brij ko .
Geet: mujhe nahi pata usne wo zameen kab aur kise bechi ,, mujhe to aaj subah pata chal jab tum ppr per sign ke liye aay.
Maan: what ?? , but u r his sis ,if he was selling d land means all d family members knew about it ,, ur parents nd others ,, i don't know much about handas , my munshiji deal with Brij ,, but for final regtd i have to come ,, he was creating fuss for money nd sign so i threatened him nd went to take ur sign , but u know what u did ? i have paid him half of money nd half is due at final rgtd ,, how cn i leave my deal in mid ? it was ur family matter , this land is mine now ,, i have aggri pprs .
Geet lost : u all men only run behind money woman nd land ,, u cn cheat nd ruin anyone for ur greed ,, only want to rule others to show ur power ,, all r same ,, selfish nd greedy ,, i don't know u ,, plzz don't inform Brij about me ,, they'll kill me ,, i'll sing where do u want ,, take that land but let me leave safely from here , plzz ,, i beg of u .
Maan: humm,, brij's men r all around ,, u cn't go out easily ,, if u trust me , will u come with me to Amritsar ,, ,, i'll drop u safely where u want after signing d pprs .
Geet: if brij came to u ?

geet didn't have any option ,, she had to runaway from there safely ,, she cdn't trust this Anjaan man who only interested in land ,, he dealt with Brij nd cd inform him after getting her sign , but before that he cdn't do for his benefit ,, when her own close blood relatives cd cheat her for money nd property , then who was he ? Geet thought to be careful at hr place ,for time being accept it , latershe cd think in peace .
Geet accepted Maan demand ,, he relieved nd told her to take rest for some time , then they wd move in wee hrs nd he wd hide her in his jeep ,, Geet agreed looked around nd saw a heap of straw ,, she slowly sat on that nd cuddle up holding her knees nd lie down .
Maan: u cn sleep here in sleeping bag .
Geet: no,, it's OK , u did a lot for me ,, thanks a lot, i want to go from here ASAP.
Maan: i'll drop u , but don't try to run , u'll be in danger .
Geet only nodded her head in yes ,, they rest for some time ,, Maan didn't blink for a mnt ,,he didn't trust her ,, she was in fear nd cd run , he thought for both ,, he cd save her from Brij ,nd in return she was ready to sign d pprs ,, he spent lots of money for this land nd as a sharp businessman he won't tolerate any loss ,,he was clear from his side nd want a fair deal ,, someone' s family matters didn't matter to him ,, she was in danger nd want to go away , then she be .
After few hr Maan secured his belongings ,, kept in his jeep ,, hide Geet between d back seats ,,folded his tents nd covered her .
Man: Geet remain like this till we cross this area , Ok.
Geet: humm.
They reached Amritsar at his guest house ,, it was still dark ,, Maan opened d house nd they went in ,, he locked d house ,, though Geet was fearing with this unknown man nd place , but she had to take patient .
Maan: u r safe here ndcn rest for some time ,, there was WR go nd wash ur face nd hands ,, there is blood all over ,, i'll bandage u later , u need 1st aid .
Geet went in nd cleaned herself ,, her dress was torn from many places nd blood stained ,, how she wd go out in this condition ,, she she look out a small silky pouch which was tied with her salwar's string ,, opened that nd saw ,, there was some money , a chain nd a ring set ,, tears dropped down from her eys ,, those ornaments belonged to her late parents ,, very hardly she was able to get those from her Taiji's cupboard before running away from there.
