Chapter One
"School your features to something more bearable sweetheart. You positively look like you swallowed a lizard"
Talk about being double-grossed out.
"I have no clue why I am doing this" Geet muttered touching her neatly done hair and wincing. If there was something she didn't like, it was putting a comb in her bird's nest that was her hair. She had messy curls, and though they weren't actually elegant and looked like the one from old center fresh ad, she liked them the way they are.
As she caught her reflection on the glass walls of the elevator, she cringed again.
Decked up entirely, with straight hair, long earrings, and sexy skirt, she looked more like a cheer leader, less like her usual self.
For the hundredth time, she wondered if she could kill her best friend.
There was a cheerful whistle from her bestie's mobile, indicating an incoming call, and she prayed, hoped, wished, it wasn't him.
But of course...
"Hey dude, yes we are here" Meher said giving her a sweet smile. "Yeah, coming over. You're waiting at the food court? Cool"
Flipping the mobile shut, she turned at Geet with a grin.
"Meher, I think I am coming down with loose motions"
"I'll buy you medicine," Meher grinned, and the lift doors pinged to an open, making her follow Meher, who was dragging her away to let Geet meet Meher's best-friend slash Geet's blind date.
Can she just die?

"The trouble of having twins is my dear brother, you have two tornadoes to handle which will suck you up from either side" his sister had told him.
He rolled his eyes at her then. But for the first time in five years since the kids arrived into this world, he was thinking to be more sympathetic to her. After all, he is getting a first-hand experience on it, since he had to baby sit the kids, while his sister and brother-in-law went over for an emergency they had called, which he was sure nothing more than a second honeymoon.
Not that he minded, he loved the kids, and loved pampering them. But life would have been simpler, had there been someone else to clean, while they destructed his little flat, and someone else to run around them when they run into two different directions in the Toy Store, at the moment.
His eyes fell on the tall beauty at the end of the shelf, and saw her survey some angry bird accessories. The long hair of the lady fell till her waist, her shorts hung to her lower body, accentuating her curves perfectly. But that wasn't what had caught his attention. It was the five year old, who was on skates with a baseball cap on his head, who glided swiftly from behind her slapping her butt on his way.
He turned his back to the scene and pretended he never saw his Nephew in his nefarious activities.
He hated to admit his sister was right since he was a child. He hated her I-told-you-so-grin. But now, he sighed silently closing his face with his palm, acknowledging it to himself that maybe she was true.

"Hey"
Meher flung her arms around him, while he almost lifted her off the feet. They parted grinning, and slapping his back.
"Meet my friend" Meher paused shifting a little to shift the focus to Geet.
"Hi"" she began but it was cut down as she had to swallow down her words as she felt the dude hugging her dearly.
Her hands first crushed between them slowly released, until they went around him and after a contemplative beat, she gave him a pat on the back. Not the romantic I-missed-you-baby touch, nor the friendly one slap Meher gave him, it was more so like the ones his grand-mother would have given him when he was a child.
He parted, and caught her hands and gave her a once over, with a huge grin.
"You look beautiful Geet"
D'uh! She thought, but kept that private thought to herself.
He was talking as if he saw her daily, and found her extremely gorgeous just today. Hello, she just met him. Of course so he saw her pictures before and all, but that really didn't count did it?
She winced as she recalled how she had known him. She needed someone to interview for one of the stupid assignments of her course. Since the interview was basically about regret mapping of employees and dealt with interviewing people to know how frustrated they are with the job, and since all her friends were practically babies, studying post-graduation and not earning a penny, much less being frustrated with their jobs, she turned to Meher for the long list of contacts she has, and out she got his number. Karan's.
He was drunk that day, and she was pissed off at the assignment. They both talked bullshit, with her being entirely funny, him being over actively witty. Her assignment was done, and he said it was great talking to her.
A week passed, and she received a friend request from him. Apparently, unlike her minute knowledge which thought that people forget everything when they're drunk was wrong, and that light flirting, friendly banter and stupid conversation they had multiplied under the alcohol affect he had that day, made him interested in her.
Being extremely fool headed, she conversed with him, not understanding his interest in her, and Meher's plans at match making, until it lead to this day where he wanted to meet her. On a date.
"Thank you, you look nice too" she said knowing that she hadn't spoken for so long and caught Meher rolling her eyes over his shoulder.
Oh please, she thought looking at Meher. She really can't expect her to kiss him senseless now, can she? The way she was giving her looks, felt as if she let her down mightily.
"So guys, I'll leave it to you to catch up for sometime. I've some errands to run. Will meet you in some time"
Gah! Can she be any more direct?
"Hey, where are you going M?"
As an answer Meher turned her eyes at Geet and grinned. "To get a medicine for someone, you know, something which would tighten up something"
From his shoulder, Meher saw Geet gag, while Geet looked at heavens above and sent a silent pray to be rescued from this extremely cheesy man-trauma.
