The function
Maan stopped his jeep inside the Handa Mansion and waited for Geet to get down, as she didn't, Maan turned towards her and looked at her staring at him, "Are you gonna stare like this or get down," Maan's voice pulled her from her thoughts and she looked around and it was her house, "Baba ji," she thought as she feared someone would see her and jumped from the jeep and rushed away behind the house, "What the," Maan looked at her confused,
"This girl is crazy, for sure" Maan thought and got down from the jeep and went towards the Mansion, "Maan Singh, come in," Dhar ji said as he saw Maan, "How is the working going on," he added as Maan went closer, "It's good, and I will be started tomorrow," Maan said, "And, I think, I could accept the offer, you made to stay in the guest house, as I need to keep an eye on the works," Maan said in a stubborn tone yet not rude,
"Ofcourse, you can, and I will arrange some helper too there and for food," Dhar ji listed, "Please, no, I just need the house and nothing more, I can take care of the rest," Maan said and Dhar ji smiled, "Bahu Rani, go and get the guest house key from my room," Dhar ji said and Breej's wife who was standing there, went in and came with a key, Geet went to her room through the back door and come and stood there on the upstairs looking down at the hall,
She saw Maan standing there and Maan who felt someone is watching him looked up and saw Geet looking at him, and he too looked at her, "Maan," Dhar ji's voice broke his look and he turned to look at him, "here," Dhar ji gave him the key, "Thank you," Maan said and turned to leave, "Maan, today we are going to have an function in our house in the evening, my granddaughter's marriage had been fixed and we are making a small function, I want you to join us as you are the guest to our village,"
Dhar ji offer made Maan uncomfortable, Maan suddenly looked up at Geet, who was looking at him as if waiting to know his answer, "o, I am not so into this kind of things," Maan said slowly, "Maan, you are from Delhi and so you would not have see these kinds of functions there, so give it a try," Dhar ji said, and Maan didn't want to say an yes, nor a no, he thought for a minute and said an yes, as he didn't want his relationship with this village's sarpanch ji to go bad,
"Ok, good, will see you in the evening," Dhar ji said and Maan nodded and turned around and looked up again, but this time Geet was not there and so he looked around and finally turned around and went away, Geet who was hiding herself from his view came out to see him walking out of the door, "Didi, who are you looking at" Rachi voice pulled her from a paused state, "him," Geet said slowly, "who" Rachi looked down, and found no one,
"who didi," she asked, and Geet turned to Rachi and said what happened, "What Breej Veer ji, listened to someone, that's impossible, how did this happened," Rachi asked and Geet nodded a don't know, "Didi, did you thank him," Rachi asked, "No," Geet said as she walked inside her room, "why didi" Rachi asked, "Because if I open my mouth, he will start yelling, he is so arrogant," Geet said, and Rachi pulled her to the bed and Made her sit,
"Geet di, you are the one who told me, if someone saves us from something, at that moment that person is suppose to be Baba ji's messenger and we should always thank them, so Baba ji will be happy," Rachi said and Geet looked at her, "Yes Rachi, you are right, he is arrogant and heartless but I am not like that, I will say him thank you today even," Geet said and Rachi looked at puzzled, "How?"
"O, Dhar ji had invited him today to the function in the evening, so will say Thank you when he comes here," Geet said, "Really, I don't think so, today, if Dev ji comes can, you will forget everything and will be looking at him only and how will you find time to say thank you and all," Rachi said and Geet scorned at her and blushed and rushed from there,

The evening fun started in the Handa mansion, Geet's mom and Bhabhi was making her ready, "Maa, Dev ji and his family came," Rachi came rushing in, "Ok, then you be here, I will go and welcome them, you get ready soon and come down" Geet's mom said and went out,
Maan came inside the Handa Mansion which was decorated with color and the whole village was there, Breej saw Maan and went towards him, "Maan ji, welcome," Breej said and Maan just nodded and went towards him, and found an lone place and waited there, then Dev's family came and everyone welcome them in, "Maan ji, come in, the function will start," Breej said and Maan nodded and went in,
The hall was looking totally different and the place was filled with crowd which Maan hated to the core, he decided to go upstairs as he didn't want to be in this crowd and went up and stood there silently, and it was near Geet's room, but in that high crowd no one was looking at him specifically, Maan was standing there staring at something, "Geet didi wait here, I will ask whether we can come down," Rachi said,
As Maan heard some voice, he turned around to see Rachi and Geet's Bhabhi walking Geet out, as Rachi went down, Geet turned and her big eyes meet his wide and dark eyes and frozen up, suddenly their brain stopped working, a their heart started beating fast,

"Time for some song and dance," they all said and the lady there started to sing and all the kids started dancing and having fun and Rachi pulled Geet too into the dance and Geet too danced, but suddenly she stopped as she saw Maan looking at her, his anger filled eyes and his hard face, Rachi saw Geet frozen up, and saw what she was seeing and saw Maan staring back at Geet, "Geet di, who is he?" Rachi asked, "He is that guy," Geet said slowly,
Maan saw Rachi and Geet speaking and turned around and walked up and stood in a corner, "You mean the guy who stop Breej Veer ji," Rachi asked and Geet nodded a yes, "Didi you said the thank you," Rachi asked and Geet looked at her, "No, Ok wait I will tell him that now and come," Geet said and went away looking for Maan, and found him standing quietly looking at the walls,
"Ji," Geet's voice pulled him up and Maan looked at her frustrated, "Can't she leave me alone," Maan thought and turned away, "Look, I know you hate me, for some reason, but I need to tell you just one thing," Geet said and Maan looked at her, "o, Thank," Before Geet could finish her words, the current went off, turning the place dark and Geet freaked out seeing it, "Baba ji," she said and held Maan holding his shirt in her both hands,
Maan was taken aback by her reaction, he was stud and doesn't know how to react, Geet closed her eyes tight and held Maan's shirt in her fist, Maan could feel her hair near his chin, this was the first time, a girl was holding on to him and he made sure he wasn't touching her, Maan was so much irritated as he hates girls who act scared like this, Maan used his free hand to take his mobile and flipped it open,
And the little light splashed up un Geet, making her realize what she was doing, she slowly took her hands away from his shirt, and looked up, his dark eyes shining yet angry, his anger face turned hard, yet Geet didn't fear it, she looked at him closely, Maan too saw her, her eyes filled with little water, may be due to the fear, her lips apart and her face glowing, they stood there like that looking at each other, in the little light,

Suddenly the light flipped up turning the place bright and the Geet moved up a bit away from him and Maan turned around they both felt embarrassed, "Why the hell am I staring at her," Maan thought as he was trying to calm down his heart which was beating so fast and he felt tensed, Geet held the pillar nearby for the balance and looked up at Maan, who was still not facing her, "Ji," Geet voice made provoked and he turned and his angry eyes were killing her,
"Can't you just stay away from me," Maan said between his teeth, "Yes but you are the one in my house," Geet said slowly, "That doesn't mean that you have to hold me up," Maan said and Geet looked at him, "no, actually I came to thank you, but the current went off and I got scared," Geet explained, "Yeah sure, whatever, and again I am saying, if you really want to thank you, then don't ever show your face to me again until I stay here," Maan said and Geet looked at him,
"And you are going to get married, so try to use your brain atleast now, well if you have one," Maan said in his sadistic tone and Geet anger suddenly came out, "And you too use your heart, and stop being arrogant like this, well if you have an heart," Geet said and went away, Geet's heart was beating high, "How did I say that," Geet was amazing by her own anger and turned and looked at Maan,
When Geet looked at him he was gone, "Baba ji, please, enough, I don't want to see this guy again, I think I have enough heartless man in my life, I don't need one more," Geet prayed and went away, to her room and her eyes was filled up, and Rachi came to her rushing, "Geet didi what happened, and where did you go in the dark, I know you are scared of darkness, are you crying because you are scared?"
"No, I am not crying, why should I cry, if he doesn't want to see me, I too don't want to see him, all I did was say thank you and he," Geet said and Rachi smiled, "So, you said Thank you," Rachi asked, "yes Rachi, I did and also got insulted," Geet said irritated, "Geet did, leave it na, but what was he doing in our house today, you said Dhar ji invited him na, but who is he," Rachi asked puzzled,
"Whoever he is, I wish I should never see him again," Geet said her anger raising up, "Oie, looks like you too got his character, look how anger you are, relax Geet di, now forget about him and think about you Dev ji, who is waiting for you down stairs," Rachi said and Geet hugged her and they both smiled and went down,
Don't know why Geet eyes started to search for Maan in the crowd when she got down, but he was not seen, Maan went to Breej who was standing outside with his gang, "Maan ji, come on," Breej said, "No, I need to go," Maan said, "Oie Maan ji, this is my party, Breej's party and my guest going with empty stomach, no, no," Breej ji said, "Breej Veer ji is right, you are our guest, so we need to treat you well," another guy added,
"Look, Breej, I have some important work, so will see you soon, I am going to be in this village only na for a while, so will catch up later," Maan said and went away, without waiting for an reply and Breej too didn't stop him, Maan rushed to the guest house and went to the wash room and freshen himself, and came and stood near the bed, yet his mind wasn't out of anger,
He was feeling so strange, "what's happening to me," Maan asked confused, Maan never keeps anything in his mind, he moves on, but this girl, he thought, her big eyes and voice and smile and tears was fixed in his mind, how much ever he tried she was all he can see, Maan can still feel the hands clutching to his shirt, he walked toward the refrigerator and took a water bottle and poured the chill cold water on him,
Yet the cold water didn't do any good, he could still see the face, Maan went and sat on his rocking chair an closed his eyes, trying to calm himself and his disturbed mind, Geet was in her room, her mind was playing her the face of Maan, "how rude could he get, so heartless, so not caring," Geet thought and her mind was showing her the scene of him raising her from the water and walking with her on to the lands,
"Didi, what are you thinking," Rachi asked as she came inside the room, "About him," Geet said slowly, "Oh, Dev Jiju," Rachi asked with a smile, "No, him," Geet said and Rachi understood whom Geet was speaking about, "Geet di, you only said he is heartless, rude, arrogant and you hate him and then too you are thinking about him, why," Rachi asked, and Geet turned silent, and stood up from the bed,
"Can't understand you di, hating someone to the core and still think about that person," Rachi said and went inside the wash room, "yes, why am I thinking about him," Geet thought confused staring at the blank space before her and Maan was staring at the roof as his mind played his meetings with Geet,
