PART 29

*GEET's POV*

I was shocked when maan said that he declined Anchal's invitation. she said me something else. Why did Anchal lie to me? was she so desperate to have us for dinner? I find no need for that as the dinner was hardly any eventful . what could be the reason behind all this?

I didn't disclose to maan anything about my suspicions. I wanted to be sure first. There is something fishy and i need to figure it out first. Maan cannot be involved if it is anything related to him then it will add to his guilt and i can let that happen.

"Are you okay?" Maan asked me once he stopped in front of our favorite restaurant.

I turned to look at him with a smile.

" lets go" i said

Maan walked me to a couple table in pool side. I have no clue how did he manage to get that table in such short notice so i asked him that.

"i am influential " he said with a wink.

The waiter came to take our order.

"Italian Veg salad " Maan said earning a glare from me.

"sorry sir its currently unavailable " the waiter said much to my pleasure

I gave Maan a mocking look. But that look didn't stay much on my face as rest of the food was all vegetable related.

" Baby will hate you for doing this" i said

" But when you have a healthy baby in your hand you are gonna love me" he said

That is what i love about Maan. Every single sentence he says so meaningful that i can't stop myself from admiring him.

" Did you call Aarav ?" Maan asked out of blue moon

I looked at him surprised as we hardly talk about Aarav. I thought its a No Go' topic.

"I ..."

"When was the last time you talked to him?" Maan asked

" i guess when we went to mumbai " i said with guilt

Maan looked at me disapprovingly. How can i forget my best friend who was with me since i remember. Has my new life taken him away from me? I became selfish. Seeing me sad Maan tried to change the subject.

" So should we decide name for baby?" Maan asked

"huh?"

" its anyway gonna be a boy so , you know"

" Maan we will call baby Arohi" i said

" We can't name a boy Arohi Geet" he said seriously

"I know but its gonna be a girl " i said teasing

" Boy"

"Boy" this time i heard another voice say this.

I turned to find Anchal with he father. God not again.

"hey" she said

I smiled politely Maan didnt even look at them. Anchal's father was as interested as Maan.

"So you guys having the cute couple fight?" anchal asked

" just discussing " i said

" how sweet " she said looking at Maan

He didn't turn to look at her.

" But i guess it will be a boy " she said

I didn't reply anything. Just smiled.

" wanna join us ?" i asked for formality.

" we would love to but dad has to go somewhere urgent " she said

" ohh " i am happy about it

"i was to meet Ashok here for dinner but as usual he didn't show up so dad came to pick m up " she said

I didn't know what to say . i just stared at her blankly. Anchal's father cleared his throat and Anchal realized she talked too much.

"Okay bye " she said and without further delay walked away.

I looked at Maan who had his eyes fixed on the plate.

"Maan?" i called

"Samrat" Maan said

"what?"

" we will name him samrat . i like that " Maan said

I rolled my eyes and began to eat.

For some reason i felt that Anchal's visit to hotel was not an accident. She is doing something purpously but i couldnt figure out what and why? Does she want Maan back by any chance? But he is not interested in her. Then why is she doing this?

" Geet phone " i heard Maan say

"i have a call?" i asked

"Nope Geet here is your phone. Call Aarav " he said

I looked at him in disbelief. Why is he doing this? But i didn't ponder more on it just took my phone and called Aarav.

"hello" i said

"you have dialled a wrong number " i heard Aarav say

" Aarv "

" oh you remember my name.. i thought you forgot my name and so didn't call me" he said

" its not funny. You know how my life is" i said

"Yeah busy with... Maan " he said the last word lightly

"Aarav" i sighed

"got to go " he said

"No. you are gonna talk to me " i said

"You can be busy not me ?" he asked

"tit for tat? Dumbo talk to me or i ll kill you "

"why are you doing this Geet?" he asked

"because my life seems so hollow and i need you here as always " i said

There was pause and i heard him sigh.

"missed you " he said

" sorry"

"don't say that. I understand"

"you always do" i said

" so all of a sudden wanted to talk to me?" he asked

" Maan insisted" i said

Silence filled and i wasn't sure why? Shouldn't i have told that ? But i always be honest with Aarav.

"Geet i am in delhi " he said

"Really!!! Great . Why don't you come here . i want to meet you " i said

"I ...Morning?" he asked

"you are asking me ?"

He laughed " no... i ll come tomorrow morning " he said

I cut the phone after talking for next 30 minutes and looked at Maan who was busy with some papers . i went near him and kissed his cheeks. He raised his eyebrows questioningly.

"you are the best " i said

He smiled and kissed my cheeks.

"i have some work so good night " he said

I kissed his cheeks again and went to bed
