The moment he had stepped out she realized his vulnerable state. Geet was again pooled in the pain of despair & confusion to assail her. Anger and bitterness, sadness & despair consuming her like fire. She sunk down next to t bed clutching t sheet close to her. Did she just lose him all love again. Did it all end at the onset!!!
A week had passed by. For Maan it had been again a deep hit on his ego with failure. For Geet it was more of realization. The main reason why she wanted to part away was lack of love, care. As the years had gone by she had began to feel he doesn't really care. Initially she had thought they would open up to each other as time passes but as the years passed by all she left was loneliness. & his straight forwardness only made it worse.
He never expressed anything. & when he did she just questioned his intention. Yes she did break his heart!!! he did care for her.. she did see the concern in his eyes, care was their probably she failed to see. She didn't need anything more to run back into his arms. But it was a big decision to make. He won't change.. he is like that, but he cared.. not exactly the way she wanted but he did!! & that was much more than not caring at all. She couldn't ruin what was possible between them. At least she loved him. Probably was not enough for both of them then.. but now it felt more than enough.
She was not even sure wat she was thinking. All she knew was after spending those days & nights with him, after seeing so much love in his eyes she can't stay away from him. She couldn't let their relation break. She felt very weak & broken within. All her confidence of life without him seemed totally shaken.
Thinks lightened up a bit in KM with Anni's visit. Even Maan felt lighter, a much required break from his sulking. They had their family dinners, guest. It all a different zeal in the mansion for few days. Maan still could feel a miss. His eyes wished she was their.. hoped if she could just come back. He sighed & went to his room.
Anni had known abt her brothers & Geets divorce thing through Pammi. She was bit taken a back but didn't know whose side to take. Arjun, anni's husband had come to pick her up. They had a nice family time. Wife & husband had their cute moment after missing it for a week.
Latter at night Maan was just heading towards the kitchen when he heard geets name being spoken. It was not in him to eve drop but it was geet they were taking abt. His steps paused near the door.
Anni ' mujhe nahi pata arjun
arjun ' common anni Maan is ur brother phir tum aisen kasien kah sakten ho
anni ' haan Maan veerji merin bhai hain, I really love him a lot
Maan felt really proud & contended & was about to leave when he heard anni speak further
anni ' lekin, I won't agree ki Geet ki koi galti hain
arjun ' lekin mami ji tho kah rahi thi, Geet has some affair
Maan clenched his teeth
he wanted to barge in & punch his face, but then it was not his mistake, it was hi ma who gave him that impression
anni ' main geet ko jaanthi hoon, woo aisen nahi hain. Aur tum mama ko tho janthen ho
unhe bhi na pata nahi geet se kya problem hain
arjun ' then why is she asking for divorce
anni shied ' I really don't know, koi misunderstanding hui hogi
arjun ' why don't they have kids?
Maans heart ached hearing that. It was his own deeds. The decision that felt so rational then, now felt so baseless.
Anni ' I don't know.
Anni was lost herself.
Arjun ' I really feel sorry for Maan bhiaya
anni still looked lost, then spoke after a pause ' I am not sure
arjun looked at her trying to understand
anni ' its difficult to live with person like bhaiya
Maan was a taken a back so was arjun

anni ' I mean bhiaya has not changed a bit after marriage. I never understood all this before marriage lekin shaadi ke baat I really feel pitty for geet.
Arjun couldn't understand
anni ' unki shaadi ko 5 saal hogayen, lekin aaj thak bhaiyen, geet ko kanhi bhar nahi legayen
arjun ' what rubbish
anni laughed sadly ' kabhi koi gift nahi di

anni ' bhaiya yeh sab nahi manthe, lekin geet ka kya, she is like any other simple girl with dreams & expectation.
Just then arjun smiled sweetly changing the topic so what does my wife want for her first anniversary
anni's eyes lit up in excitement ' mujhe kundan wala set chiayen
Maan was totally disturbed & left from their. Common geet knows him better. She won't expect all that from him. He is not that type, he had made it clear on their first anniversary itself.
he closed his eyes remembering their first anniversary
Geet had dressed up in a sari. He smiled remembering how gorgeous she looked. When he had come back from office he had seen a gift pack lying in the bed with a card. He would have not opened it, but luckily he saw his name written on the card. He continued changing his shirt & then came back & opened the card

he smiled knowing it will be all her plan. Then he opened the gift box. It was a nice classy pen. She so romantically came around & kissed his cheek & had wished him happy anniversary, telling him to always carry the pen close to his heart.
He caressed the pen that was now lying in the first drawer of his study ever since, & the wallet she had brought him for the second anniversary & the watch .. the tie.. &.. &.. his heart ached what did she get him for the fifth anniversary. He doesn't even remember her wishing him. When did she stop doing all that he wondered. Probably she just over grew all that bachkani harkten.
He never wished her, not on her bday, not the anniversary. He never remembered all that nor did he believe in all that. If she wanted anything she could buy after all she is wife of Maan Singh Khurana.
But the question that began to bother him was Geet never brought anything for herself. Did she??
he remembered her asking for a gift on the first anniversary & their fight over that
but the fact she never got anything for herself.
May be ma would have brought her something, daadi ne liya hoga. But he was not sure & that kept him awake the whole night. & whom was he supposed to ask.. & a question echoed who was Geet supposed to ask!! promptly his ego answered ma ya daadi.
The house ladies have the locker keys aur saren pasien bhi ussin main hoten hain. Still there was uncertainty. Knowing Geet she won't ask any one.
He woke up with ma's raised voice. Probably daadi & ma where again having some heated up argument. Maan had his shower & got dressed for the office. When he came down daadi & ma were still arguing. He just went near them to calm them
daadi ' pammi yeh jewels geet ke hain
pammi ' tho kya huwa maa ji, wo yeh ghar chor ke jaa chuki hain
daadi was really annoyed ' paami u can buy wat ever u want for anni, phir geet jewel hi kyun?
Just then Maan came looking into the locker.. geets jewels were here.. she never took any of her jewelry. He kept looking at the different necklaces, ear rings.. it reminded him of different occasions she wore, few he didn't even remember when she wore it last.
Pammi ' Maan beta yeh wali necklace anni ko bahut pasand hain, I wanted to give to her.
Maan clearly remembered how geet loved to dress up & this particular one she wore it for their first anniversary.
Pammi ' de doon
Maan just nodded not wanting any further argument
daadi shouted at Maan ' yeh sarren jewels geet ke maa ne ussen diyen hain, tumne nahi

he knew it was not his business to talk between them, but it all seemed pointless to argue when Geet herself doesn't want anything. & he was getting a headache hearing them argue
daadi opened each box & showed to him.. did u buy this, this, this... this..this.. this.. almost 20 different set.. Maan just stood rooted with such aggression from daadi.
U never brought anything for her, nor did pammi

daadi was very disappointed with Maan. She was very hopeful about Maan & geets relations.
Maan not taking any initiative broke her down completely. & this coldness towards geets belongings like his mom just was too much for daadi. probably he never cared.. probably he is indeed seeing some one now.. !!!
Mujhe aap se ye umeed nahi tha Maan. She spoke in at most dismay.
Maan was hurt with those harsh words from daadi. The worse he couldn't understand what hurt him more at present, being a complete loser, or daadi knew it all & still had expected him to do the right thing, or just that deep felt realization that he never did anything for her.
Add to all this daadi saw that hurt too but didn't do anything to soothe him.
