Had been a crazy week this one 😆
anywayz coming to our FF, I really didn't want to write PAST and PRESENT explicitly. that luked sort f cliched, but I guess i don't have the skills to differentiate the ideas 😳 😳. So I have rectified that. Regarding the characters, I have explained a little in CS. I think I forgot to write about Geet's current location. Well she is in New York, working in a fashion magazine. I just assumed in the last update that its mentioned in the CS. Thank You for pointing out that. 😊
If anyother thing remains unclear, then please let me know. I am happy to reply. 😊
NOTE : The incident of Geet getting married to an older man was based on a real life story of a neighbour belonging to a particular communtiy around 20 years back. I don't remember it but my mom told me. The girl lives with her parents and is supposed to go near the guy whenever he visits. She was only 10. She runs away and comes to our house and cry to my mother saying that she doesn't want all these and she wants to study. My mom talked to her parents and later they agreed to get her divorce. At the age of 12 she was a divorcee.
Over the time, I hope our society grows up and matures enough to respect women for what they are.
PART 5
Past
Pammy came to Maan's room hearing the noise. Pammy : sorry Maan baba, mene hi us nayi ladki ko bheja apkey kamre me. Mujhe nhi pata tha ki Vicky apke kamre he.
Maan already had an idea about what would have happened. He felt so guilty that he kept quiet. Pammy mistook it as his anger.
Pammy : beta wo bhi to choti si bachi he na. Anjaney me ho gaya.
Maan : hmm ap usko kuch mat bolo. Mujhe ussey milna he.
Pammy : me bhej deti hu usey
Maan didn't want her to climb all the steps again with that injured feet. He quickly replied, "Nhi, me khud jakey ussey milta hu.
Pammy was surprised at Maan's behaviour. She didn't understand why he was behaving so differently. She felt scared for Geet but she couldn't say much.
Pammy : acha Maan baba, bacho ke janey ke baad baat kar lena.
Maan : ji
Pammy felt that the time will calm down his anger. Maan on the other hand was desperate to meet Geet and apologize for his mistake. Though eighteen, he had much more responsibilities on his shoulders which made him matured than other children of his age. His parents died in a plane crash when he was very young. Savitri Devi, his grandmother, took over the Khurana empire as well as the kids. It wasn't entirely possible for her to look after her family due to the busy schedule yet she managed. Even though Pammy was there, the children needed constant love, attention and care. That's why Maan had to step up. The kids started looking upto him as a father figure and he played his part well too. All these circumstances had made him a bitter person from the exterior but inside he was a loving and compassionate human being. It's just that his heart needed a push to open-up and very few people were able to do that, his dadi being one of them.
Maan watched as his brothers and sisters were leaving for school. Dev ran at first. Annie and Vicky went next, Vicky protectively holding Annie's hand. After them went Geet, holding two bags in her hand and one on her shoulder. Despite this, her innocent face had no complaints or sadness. Maan could see the clear difference between the lives of the two children. His heart went out for Geet. She hasn't even dressed her feet. He closed his eyes in guilt. He was forced to think. Does she even go to school? Just because she is not family, is it right that we don't care about her? He was determined now, "I should meet her." Geet kept the bags on the car and went back to her quarter. She was in hurry because she would get to go to new school.
Maan was waiting for Geet to return but she didn't come back to the mansion. He enquired Pammy.
Maan : dayi jaan..wo umm.. I mean..wo nayi ladki kaha he?
Pammy : Geet? Apne kamre me gayi hogi. Wo peeche servant quarter me rehti he.
Maan looked at her in surprise and then sighed. She lives in servant quarters!!
Pammy continued, " Wo chotu ki tabiyat kharab he. Mujhe ghar jaana he. Aj wo Geet ko school le janey wali thi. Usko bol dungi kal chali jaye.
Maan quickly replied, " Me le jata hu usey"
Pammy looked at him shocked.
Maan : I mean mera xam 2 baje he, to rastey me hi to school he. I will drop her.
Pammy : shukriya baba. Bhagwaan tera bhala karega. Me bhi soch rhi thi bachi ka dil beth jaata agar aj mana kiya hota to. Subah se badi khush thi school ko leke.
Maan smiled sadly. He had to force his brothers and sisters to attend their classes and this girl.. her face, her little form, her smile and then those eyes replayed in his mind as if she was standing in front of him. He controlled himself, (self-thot) "Maan since when did you become such a pervert?"
PRESENT
Ami was all thrilled as she set out for a trip with mumma. Geet loved the city. It was like letting herself go along with this huge crowd where no one knew or expected anything from her.
Ami : mumma jaldi chalo na ap kya sapne dekh rhe ho...
They had an outing at Ami's favorite park. Geet tried her best to fullfill every wish of Ami. Thankfully, the kid had moderate wishes. She never gave her any trouble. Sometimes Geet felt that she was living with an adult. But if Ami wished for something with her heart, she would turn the world upside down. That nature reminded her of Savitri Devi. According to her research that gene should be named Khurana gene. One of the Indians in their neighbourhood Mrs. Sweety Chadda saw them. She was a typical trophy wife with a shallow mind.
Sweety : hello Ms. Khurana ... Looks like having a great time with your little one?
Geet smiled nervously. She knew Sweety would come up with something.
Sweety : it would have been so good if the kid had her dad to play with instead of you.
Geet' s face turned red. She would have answered back if it was about her and the mean woman purposely dragged her daughter into this. Geet was startled as she heard Ami reply to her.
Ami : apney nhi dekha parso hi to khel rhi thi yeha papa ke sath.
It was so convincing that even Geet felt that Ami was saying the truth. Embarrassed Sweety left with a sheepish smile.
Geet : why did you lie?
Ami : bcoz you were going to cry and then who will play with me?
Geet took her in her arms, "aye lo mera bacha...mumma nhi roti. But don't say like that to people, ok?
Ami nodded innocently. Geet kissed her on her cheek.
Ami : Mumma dekho Arjun uncle
Geet saw Arjun coming towards them smiling.
Geet : who told you we were here?
Arjun : I guessed...woah woah did I just broke into the lovely moment of the ma-beti quality time.
Geet : ofcourse, you have a terrible timing always.
Arjun (luking away) : I wish... always...
Ami dropped her ball and ran after it filling herself with the fresh air. Geet and Arjun stood there.
Geet : Arjun, you are important in my life. I won't write off our relation as a casual friendship because you were there for me always.. always when there was no one for me. You are responsible for this new Geet. I wouldn't have been able to find myself again if it weren't you. But we will always be this. I mean I can never think of you or anyone in that way. I had only one person in my life and I cannot take any more chances. I can't fail one more time. All I want is my daughter to be happy.
Arjun : I know that Geet. I never expect anything from you. But you can't change me the same way as you don't want to change yourself. I just want you and Ami to be happy.
Geet : This is not right. You can't live your life like this for us. I wish you meet someone who can love you as deeply as you do.
Arjun just smiled.
They both enjoyed the beautiful sunset standing there in silence.
KHURANA HAWELI
Dadi : Maan chahe apko acha lagey ya na lagey NT is ghar ki bahu he. Aur us par is tarah sabke samne chillakar apne theek nhi kiya.
Maan : dadima mujhe yakin nhi hota ki ap NT ke liye mujhse baat kar rhi he.
Dadi : Maan hum apko bhi jantey he aur NT ko bhi. Hum uske liye nhi apke liye baat kar rhe he. Hume fikar apki rehti he.
Maan : ab mene kya kar diya? Me to apke paas hu na dadima. Me apko is tarah pareshan nhi dekh sakta.
Dadi : aur apko lagta he ki hum apko dekh kar khush ho jayenge? Ap humare paas to he Maan lekin humse koso dur he. Apney to jaisey zindagi se muh hi mod liya he.
Maan didn't want to snap at dadi considering her health.
Maan : dadima apko to sab pata he na? Kya jo kuch bhi hua uskey baad ek normal life kaise hogi mere paas?(anger washed over his face and word as he said) aur usney mujhe i layak bhi nhi choda ki me chen se apni zindagi jiyu...
Dadi : bas Maan. Waqt ke sath apne apko sambhaliye. Geet ko blame karna bandh kijiye. Just accept whatever that happened in your life and move on like Geet.
Maan was shocked to hear that.

Maan : ek minute, what did you say?
Dadi (nervous) : what?
Maan : just like Geet? She has MOVED ON? How did you know that?
Dadi : I...I just guessed.
Maan : No you didn't. You never talked about her since that day. Why now?
Realisation dawned on him.
Maan : You met her. Wo yeha ayi thi!!
Dadi : nhi Maan..wo
Maan : mene apsey sawal nhi kiya dadima. Mujhe mehsus hoti he uski aahat. Jabse me yeh ayah u tabse kuch khayi jar hi thi mujhe. Tabhi ap itni jaldi thik ho gayi. Lekin me uski ahat tak bardaasht nhi kar sakta.
Dadi : Maan beta please humari baat suniye..
Maan : nhi dadima. Mujhe yakin nhi hota ki apney usey itni jaldi maaf kar di. Mujhe uskey jaise jhutey aur farebi logo ka naam tak sunna acha nhi lagta. Me ek pal bhi ab is ghar me nhi rukh sakta jaha usney kadam rakhe he. Me aj raat ko hi Delhi jar ha hu.
Dadi : Maan please rukh jaiye.. Get over her Maan!!
Maan stopped on his tracks and turned around looking questioningly at dadi.
Dadi : Sach to yehi he Maan that you didn't get over her. That is why you can't find happiness in your own life without her.
Maan : theek he dadima. Agar apko aise lagta he to me ye galat faimi dur kar deta hu. Geet chahe duniya ke kisi bhi koney me chupi ho me usey dhund lunga. Aur uskey samne Maan Singh Khurana apni normal life jiyega. Tab apko vishwas ho jayega ki me sahi hu. Mere dil ke darwaze uske liye mene humesha humesha ke liye bandh kar diya. Nahi, usney mujhe itna acha sabak diya he ki ab mere paas dil naam ki phizul cheez hi nhi he.

Any suggestions for improvement is welome
The sight of girls working like that without going to school. I have seen it many times in my apartment. One is wearing rich clothes and the other carrying their bag is wearing old clothes and going to leave them school. It's really painful to watch that.
