No matter if she is sound financially..at least maan shd have thght abt that fact. i don't understand. Vikas said there was the monthly round table meeting this evening . but geet didn't show up . they had waited for 1 hour or so . but still she didn't turn up , didn't even receive the calls . vikas sounded pretty pissed off as they had to cancel the meeting .

I am not liking this . may be I should check the library . she took the result pretty serious . saying that sunanda was about to dash out when a hesitated expression on zaria's face stopped her.

geet sat in a crouched position behind the large water tanks on the roof of the library .

the sight of arjun's dropped shoulders and limp form flashed again and again in front of her eyes. She didn't know how to deal with it .

so she sat there hiding herself from the world , trying to brace herself from the pain she had herself given him .

he had attracted her since the day he had arrived in the college .she could still remember the day like yesterday, every details of it .the dark grey suit . that arrogant stride . day old stubble adorned confident jaws ,honey brown eyes smirking behind the rimless specs , the cupid bow lips quirking in a mysterious lop sided smile . He had that aura around him that had picked her from the very beginning.

there had always been a sexual tension between them . but what attracted her more that his personality . he was so passionate when he was giving a speech on conflicting mind of a writer . and the next moment he would be angry at her because of her antiques. The anger was intense that it had scared her . though she had never admitted that to herself..

later the animosity had lessened between them . but she was still unable to read him .

she had been bit apprehensive of his personality . the mystifying air around him . but her not able to see through him had been terrifying specially when they started having the affair .

however she understood his kisses. His craving hands on her . the way he moans her name when a nail scratched his skin . like he was offering herself to her . giving her totally . deep down inside she had felt it . but when the minute's over . he looked at her with a pair of caramel eyes that had a thousand layers in them.

It scared her .always .

but today when he let his emotion come naked in front of her . even just a glimpse of it .

she was scared again . thousand times more than when they were hidden .

she still couldn't get rid of the sound that rang in her ears .

a voice that low , a whisper so gruff could whip her this way she never had imagined.

She shook her head pressing the knuckles on her eyes as if trying to wipe of the image .

His tall solid structure had quivered , he had staggered back as the words entered him . like she was pushing him off a cliff.

The brushing off her hand from his skin ..

The sarcasm was mere a way to cover the hurt.

She couldn't help but let the terrifying thought cross her mind .

He didn't even check the paper? Why couldn't I ask him why I did so bad in the test .then it would have cleared that he didnt know , cause he didnt check it .

I punished him for such a thing that he didn't do .

He had been so eager to see me , talk to me .but what I did ? I kept accusing him for things he had no hand in.

He had told me he had to go to Kanpur , how could he meet my dadaji . he had no hand in fixing my marriage . how could he have known what dadaji was planning to do .

I let my own insecurities ruin it again .

Why do I keep letting the past affect my present .

Maan was long gone . I couldn't have stopped him anyway . but I have my present in front of me.

Why do I keep taking steps back wards instead of moving forward ?

What is wrong with me !

I need to apologize . soon . before the impulsive bitch part of me could strangle my last chance of happiness .

She stood up and climbed down the stairs to knock on his hearts door again.

Geet walked through the campus unaware of the surroundings . lost in her thoughts .

From the opposite side sunanda and zaria coming back from market when sunanda noticed geet walking tangent to them.

There she is ! sunanda exclaimed indicating at a dazed geet.

But why is she walking like that ? where she is going to ? that way ..

Prof Khurana's apartment . sunanda completed the sentence for her . here I m scouring the earth for her highness , and she is going to meet him ??

Zaria speeded up to catch geet on her way . sunanda followed her .

Here you are 'sunanda threw her hands in air , exasperated.

Where didn't I look for you ..

Sunanda ..! a confused geet tried to smile not understanding why was she looking for her.

Su stop '!! zaria said as she scanned geet .something was off with her . her eyes puffed up , flushed face , like she had been crying .

Sunanda bubbling in anger didn't hear her .

Do you have any idea how long I had waited for you ?

geet whispered perplexed as sunanda came on her. All she could guess sunanda is mad at her .every body is mad at me . I m so bad .

Tears stung in her corner of her eyes as she let sunanda drag her to the hostel.

Zaria shouted as sunanda pulled at geet's arm .

Baffled she looked back at zaria .

She isn't herself .. zaria whispered so low that only sunanda could hear.

I m sorry . geet said again . she looked so feeble .

Sunanda didn't reply but pulled her in to a side embrace and walked her to the dorm room .

Do you think I m cruel ? geet spoke as they entered her room .

What ! zaria exclaimed.

What makes you think so ? sunanda asked back . while indicating her to seat on the bed .

Because I hurt people ? make them angry at me ?

You are anything but cruel geet . zaria said while sunanda nodded reassuringly .

Where were you going geet ? to see arjun sir ? sunanda asked not wanting to let go of the chance .

Yes .. she stated as a matter of fact .

sunanda spoke in such a tender voice that opened the floodgate in her .

Geet couldn't hold back anymore .hugging sunanda tight she broke in muffled sobs .

Geet . do you love him ? zaria blurted. Not able to stop asking about the elephant in the room .

Geet didn't feel like to get up the next morning. She lay on her bed until zaria dragged her out of it .

She accompanied them to the college distractedly . they had a scheduled morning class of arjun . but the peon informed her to notify the class that prof khurana wouldn't be taking the class. She had tried to inquire more . but all she got he hasn't been present today .

Geet shuffled on her feet uneasily the entire time she had to stay in college for the form fill up . after they submitted the form . the two went for their classes while geet escaped with an excuse of a bad headache.

As soon as she exited from the academic building she came straight to arjun's place .

What she saw there, her heart sank at it . A big lock stared at her making her worst nightmares re appear in a rush .

Has he gone ? already ?

Has he left me .?

It can't be . god it can't be . please god . just once god. give me one chance .

She slumped on the stairs in front of the door and kept repeating it like mantra.

Noon turned into afternoon . afternoon turned into evening . she didn't move an inch from there. She feared if she closes her eyes for one second . he would come and seeing her he would go back , he hated her . didn't he ?

She waited for him to return . breathlessly

Slowly the night became darker . the deep fear engulfed her . as the clock turned 11 She broke into sobs unable to hold the hope anymore .

Suddenly a shuffle of key made her look up .

Looking at her flabbergasted as he turned the corner of the stairs. dead stop in his tracks.

He staggered back as she pounced on him . he had to hold the wall to support himself as she kissed him so ferociously like her life depended on it. her long fingers curled against his neck , pulling him tight .another hand had fisted his hairs to steady him against her mouth .

His senses imprisoned in the softness of her body. The raw scent of her mingled with lilac and peaches engulfed him .

The unbelievably soft lips were caressing him , like tending the wounds she had given .pouring immense love on him . . she bit on his lip demanding entry to his heart . he gasped letting her tongue slid in . stroking every nooks and corners of it .

His head spun at the intensity of it .it made him feel so desired that his chest constrict. He clawed his fingers against the wall as he fought with himself . fearing he would lose control and forget the promise he did to himself . he will never ever touch her again .

He hated the throbbing sensation it created to the deepest part of his being .

Geet waited for him say something . react . do anything . but he didn't . stood there like a statue facing his back to her.

She slid her hands around his waist and hugged him from behind .his whole body was taut . may be he was not as un affected as I though . she felt he wasn't even breathing . like waiting breathlessly to repeat the words. Like he couldn't believe what he heard . too afraid to be mistaken .she smiled against his shirt . taking the woody intoxicating scent in . it always calmed her. pressing the face against the tense muscles of his back she said again .

I love you arjun .

beyond limit . beyond existence .

I love you so much that I fear it going to kill me .

His palm immediately curled against her hand at the last two words. He fisted his palm around her as if he is protesting the unimaginative .

Eyes tight shut . a trembling breath escaped him .

Don't leave me maan .. a young voice cried in his mind . pulling the hand to him he turned with a jolt . as a result she crashed against his chest .

Startled by the sudden change , geet looked up at him , eyes widened . her entire body resting on him as he had leaned back slightly . but he didn't hold her . hands on his sides.

He looked down on her with such a fierce passion that she shuddered . the chocolate pools oozed scorching desire .

Touch me arjun .. she whispered so low that he couldn't have heard if his eyes were not on her lips . he stared at her for a fraction of second before crushing her lithe body on him . his strong arms snaked around her soft body in a tight embrace afraid she will disappear .

The hoarse whisper tingled the hairs on her nape .
