"Why didn't you tell me before Daadimaa?" I was irritated and exasperated. Only if Daadimaa could have told me when I got home at night, I would've gone to Geet the very moment. I ran outside and was in front of Geet's house in the next second. Ringing the door in urgency, I waited outside. The door opened and I saw Geet. I was shocked to see her eyes all red and filled with tears. Did I hurt her in any way again? I was about to open my mouth when I heard a deep, hushed but yet raged voice from inside the house, a man's voice, who appeared from behind her and held her by the waist, close to him. "WHY did you open the door?" How dare he talk to my Geet like that and who the hell was he to hold Geet like that! I was infuriated. My hands were clenched hard. Before I could say anything I looked at Geet who had disgust written all over her face and she was shaking her head as to indicate not to say anything. I was confused at Geet's gesture. The man looked at me with a questioning gaze. "I.." before I could say anything, Geet spoke "He was here for Mrs. Adams". She then turned to me and said, "She is not here, she'll be back in a month. You can go now". Nothing was making sense to me. Who was the man and why did Geet call me if she didn't wanted to talk? And who the f**king hell was the man? The man held Geet more closely to him and turned to close the door. I was in a dilemma and was looking at both of them. As the door was closing, the man said "come on my to'be-wifey, we have loads to catch on to"
It all made sense to me now. I stumbled backwards and fell from the steps. I wasn't in a condition to think of anything as realization dawned upon me. As I entered in my bedroom, I slummed down on the floor. Never had I been affected by any one like this before. And when someone did come in my life, she left, left without even being mine. She was gonna be someone else's wife. That's the reason she didn't like me to be with her. How could I even think of her when she's going to be someone else's wife. I just can't think of Geet being someone else's. I just loved her too much, enough to not to become a hindrance in her wedding and her happiness.
I didn't know when I got tired of shedding tears and my eyes closed in exhaustion only to be woken up by the sound of the door bell. "Maan" escaped from my lips. I fixed myself up and opened the door. But was shocked to see HIM. How did he find me? I stumbled back. He could not be here, it just can't be him.
"Did you miss me Geet?", Brij mocked. I was trying to close the door in hurry and not let him in but he stuck his foot in the door and pushed open the door, making me to fall down. It was all happening like the last time. Everything came in front of my eyes. He came in like the last time, sticking his feet in the door and pushing the door open, locking it as he proceeded forward. it felt as if the nightmare was repeating. "Don't you want to see your sister sweetheart?" he smirked and bent down to kiss my cheek.
"She's alive!" was all I could think. Before I could compose myself and do anything, he bent down and pulled out a pocket knife. "did you think you could escape? Did you think I wont be able to find you? Well I just proved you wrong didn't I" he had placed the knife on my neck and blood started to ooze out.
