Dev's first instinct was to pull out his phone & demand answers from his mother. But Sasha realised his intentions and grabbed his hand that was reaching for his pocket.
"Arguing with her won't solve anything, Dev," she said calmly. "At the end of the day, she is still your mother."
Dev was torn between a rock and a hard place as he was lost in thought, frowning as he mentally faced the perils of what lay ahead.
Maan, who was studying his cousin's expression intently, felt empathy for the young man stood in front of him. The old brotherly instinct that he & Dev had once shared before it became buried amidst the rivalry flared up again as he stepped forward and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"We'll sort this out, don't worry. The main thing is that no crucial damage was caused."
Geet was tempted to make a witty comment about how she felt compelled to record this date down in her diary as a significant landmark in the Khurana relationship, but instead diverted her attention to the trembling Chitti who could do nothing but fix his eyes on the ground before him.
"You can leave," she said. "I can assure you on behalf of the company that no action will be taken against you for breaking and entering. As long as you don't breathe a word of this to anyone, especially Pammi Khurana."
Chitti nodded in agreement & scurried away before anyone could change their mind.
As Sasha called her mother to inform her of her whereabouts, and Maan & Dev stood silently at the beginning of their new found respects for each other, the ever curious Geet's gaze was fixed on one of the security cameras that was flashing green.
She flickered her eyes to the other camera that faced them, but that was a still red, signifying that it wasn't activated - therefore their activity wasn't being recorded.
Realisation soon sunk in & she gave a knowing look & a brief smile, knowing fully well who was sat behind the screens, watching them at this very moment.

"I can't believe we actually did this."
"It's crazy, right?"
"What is she going to say?"
"What is he going to say? What are they going to say? Everyone will have something to say, but none of that matters now."
They leaned towards each other as their lips met for a small kiss, falling slightly onto each other as the taxi swerved, taking them to their new home.

Pammi grinned as the clock struck an hour later.
It had been agreed that if she had not been contacted, then the plan had been successful.
She rubbed her hands in glee, eagerly awaiting the slow unravel of Manish's downfall.

Manish leant back in his chair, satisfaction written across his face.
They were more than capable to manage the reigns of the company.
His test had been passed, by both of the Khurana men.

As Maan & Dev walked towards their cars, discussing the next stage of ousting Pammi to the business world, an awkward silence lingered between Sasha & Geet. Both of them wanted to start the conversation, yet neither wanted to make the first move.
Not one for lingering silences, Geet finally broke the ice.
"Are you coming back to KC?"
Sasha looked surprised for a moment, then genuinely smiled as she replied, "Maybe. I heard through the grapevine that you're moving on?"
"I've found an opportunity to do what I've always wanted to do," she glanced at Maan, who was now stood beside his car & looking in her direction. "It's for the best."
"I wish you the very best of luck," Sasha patted her arm affectionately, and left to take her seat in Dev's car so he could drop her off home.
Geet settled into Maan's passenger seat, as they waited for Dev to finally pull out. As he did, Maan started off but Geet quickly reached over for the handbrake & yanked it up.
"Geet, what the hell?" he asked as the car jerked with the sudden action.
She leant over & quickly pecked his cheek, a slow blush creeping up her face.
He cleared his throat as he quietly asked, "What was that for?"
Geet shrugged. "I don't know. Just."
He stared at her for a moment as she stared at the interior of his car, fighting the urge to smile. Eventually, he released the handbrake & the car rolled off to its destination.

Dev pulled up outside Sasha's house, but before he could even say a word, she jumped across & attacked his lips. He responded to her kiss with equal fervour & passion, before they gently pulled away from each other, grasping onto the other's elbows.
"That's for everything, everything you made me realise & the person I know I can finally be," she said, gently stroking his elbow. "Thank you for helping me to accept happiness instead of pushing it away."
He opened his mouth to have his say but she placed her hand over his mouth. "Not today. When you feel ready, when it's the right time. I'll be right here, waiting as I always have done."
And with that she was gone, like a gust of air that disappeared, only to eventually return.

The drive back to Geet's block of apartment had felt like 10 hours rather than 10 minutes. When he finally rolled to a stop, Geet mumbled a thanks & opened the door, but he grasped her wrist.
She closed the door as she slowly looked up into his eyes, and then he leant over & placed a peck of his own.
"I don't know," he said, before she could even ask. "Just."
She smiled at the evident sparkle in his eyes, & reluctantly left his car. Geet stood & gave a small wave as he passed by, finally feeling the contentment that had been evading her for so long.
The words were left unspoken, because she knew they were waiting for a right place and a right time. And their actions proved that the time was yet to come.

Geet unlocked the door to the apartment & was met with darkness.
"Hello? Pinky?" she called out as she threw her keys on the sofa.
In the distance, by the kitchen sink, she could see a faint sparkle - but she put it down to a light reflection coming from outside. Ignoring it, she went to switch the light on, but something about the sparkle called out to her as she stepped forward, her hand itching to reach out for a strange reason which she couldn't comprehend.
"Is there someone there?" she said softly, as she got closer. When she was a few feet away, she reached out to touch the sparkle and then screamed.

It took every ounce of patience that Dev had to greet his mother the same way that he usually did, but for the sake of the company, he had to pretend he had no idea of her vindictive actions.
So, like every other day, he greeted Pammi with a kiss on her cheek, asked if she'd had dinner, and made small talk about KC's estimated profits for the next quarter. But his heart knew that deep down, nothing could be the same between them again.

The small kitchen lamp switched on as Pinky stood in front of her, gleaming like the sun with the biggest smile on her face that Geet had ever seen; and a beautiful diamond adorning her ring finger.
The sparkle... it finally dawned on Geet as she looked at Pinky's radiance and spoke the statement which her friend had been dying to reveal.
"You got married."
