"How much you love reading,Pari???" Geet asked looking outside. She was standing near the window of her clinic whereas pari was sitting on the chair,waiting impatiently to know about her husband from geet.

"I love to read..Its my hobby.."

"Book shelf in your drawing room does not agree with your statement...Its overflowing with literature and poetry.."Reading"is more than hobby for you as far i felt" Geet said turning towards pari.

"Yes..you are right.. but why are you talking about all this...i want to know.."

"I know very well that you want to know about Maan desperately .." Geet intervened her.

"then tell me no..what is wrong with him???..Pari was loosing her patience now..

"what if i say that your "reading" is the only wrong thing in his life now"

"what????" pari was shocked.

"Yes pari...He is insecure about your love for books.Geet sighed before speaking further.He thinks that you love..

"that i love stories and poems more than him" pari completed the sentence for her.

"You are right..."Geet consented.

"But i think you are wrong..geet..How he can be jealous of mundane thing like books..I know him for last six months..he is a matured person..He never behaved like a possessive husband or an obsessive lover who would keep an eye on me..I had already told you that he insisted me to meet my college friends..."

"So that you don't sit idle at home when he is away from you.."

"what do you mean geet???" pari scowled.

"He dont want you to sit idle at home because you spend your free time with books..He just don't want you to read books.." Geet gave her reason.

"I still don't believe you,geet...'

"you don't have any other option,pari...for now you have to believe me...I may be wrong too..but for now you have to help me.."

"hmm..how can i help with this" pari asked.

"you have to leave your reading for a while.."Geet said in apologetic voice.

"what??This is your treatment??? Don't you give pills and those therapy sessions??

Geet smiled in response"I will do that too but let me confirm his problem first.."

"yes..his problem is not this minor which can be treated so easily..I know there is something big..something really big in his mind..Its nothing to do with my reading"Pari said looking at the dolphin showpiece on the table.."Why would he suspect me otherwise???"

Same Question was gnawing at Geet's brain too.She was missing something for sure.There was silence in the air for some time.

"So pari..will you sacrifice your hobby for a while??Geet asked with a smile.

"If it helps Maan as you said, then i am ready"

"Thanks pari..you are really helping..It would be more helping if you remove your books from home for some days"Geet said reluctantly

"okay..when i can't read them then there is no point in keeping them there"Pari replied with a deep sigh.

"you can shift them here..i promise i will keep them safe" geet winked.

"ofcourse my hubby and my books both are in your hands now.."pari said with smile

.She took her hand bag and got up to leave the clinic,,

"pari..i think its time to tell Maan who i am.."Geet said to pari to whom she nodded meekly.

hello Maan..She shook his hand and took her seat opposite him. It was his first visit to her clinic. It was her first meeting with him as a doctor.."so,Pari told you i am a psychiatrist.."She asked raising her brow..

"yes..she told me everything.."He looked in her eyes.."Do you think i am insane doctor???"

"No..absolutely not..you are just insecure..and its pretty normal when you love someone so much" Geet felt again her heart constricting with unknown pain.

" I am not insecure..geet" Maan's pitch was high now.."I trust Pari's love for me..Being insecure means disrespecting my wife's love for me...I know she loves me most..."

" Then why do you fear books,Maan???"

" You took me quite seriously when i said those words..I was not at all serious" Maan averted his gaze now.

"You can't lie to a psychiatrist,Maan"geet smirked.

"I am telling the truth,doctor!!!"

"Truth is that you fear books because Pari loves them.."

"Bull shit ..Do you think i can compare her love for me with her likeness towards "reading"..you are not at all sounding sensible,doctor... I think,You yourself need a Psychiatrist "

"Fine..if this is not the right reason..then why you do you fear books???"

"why do you fear spiders,geet???"He replied with another question.

"Because i feel they can harm me..." Geet answered.

"Because i feel Books can harm Pari..." Maan answered with a smirk however geet was able to notice tinge of fear in his eyes.

"How can books harm pari..Maan???" Geet was perplexed.

"I think you can answer it better,doc..According to you books are able to make me insecure..then they can harm pari too.."He chuckled."By the way..i have brought something for you.." He exclaimed bringing forward a box of chocolates.."thanks geet"

"For what???"

"For making Pari throw those books away for a while.She told me about bringing them to your clinic..thank you very much"He pushed the box towards geet,

"my pleasure"she replied with a sarcastic smile.

"I should leave now as i have to thank my mother in law too..actually it was her who made pari consult you" saying this he moved forward to get up from the chair,,

"wait..Maan.."

"hmm???"

"why did not you let pari consult any gynecologist???"Geet asked unwrapping one chocolate from box.She enjoyed sudden change in his expressions.She had hit him at right place..

"Because she is not pregnant"maan replied in a whisper.

"you claim your love for your wife..but you did not believe when she shared biggest happiness of her life with you.."

He did not utter any word.

"Isn't it similar to disrespecting your wife's love???" she poked him once again with her question.

Maan banged his fists on the table.."I had believed it if my wife had given me that news.."

His angry statement made geet shocked,,,"then who told you???" she asked..

He got up from the chair and moved towards the door. Geet was trying to absorb his words when sudden bang of shutting the door made her jump in the seat..She adjusted her head on the head rest of the chair and closed her eyes...
