I am so pleased that Geet's identity is revealed before the saree fiasco...n also there was no mess up on the party preparations on Geet's part...😃
but if one looks back...dont u think that there are tonnes of misunderstandings between Maan n Geet...i guess its to its brim...cant wait for a few of them to be cleared up...(sorry this is my plain view, i would love to read how u take the story from here,😳)
continue soon... thanks for the updates!

Chapter 42

Though Savitri insisted on taking Geet home herself, Maan was still concerned for her. Not really feeling like staying for the rest of the party, Maan left after asking Adi to oversee things once the party began winding down. As he drove himself, it took only a few moments for Maan to start heading home. When he arrived, he had no idea that his grandmother was going to be waiting in the outhouse for him, a very stern expression on her face.

"Maan, just what kind of people are these new clients of yours?" she asked without even letting him get a hello in.

"What do you mean, Dadima?" he asked back uncertainly, blindsided by the question.

"I mean this Rahul character! He said some very degrading things to Geet tonight. I mean, I was appalled by what she related to me on the way home, and the poor girl was near tears several times trying to tell me."

Maan instantly thought back to the overly familiar man, his jaw tightening as he bit out, "What did he say to her?"

"He made some very personal and distasteful remarks about how she looked wearing saree, and how much better she would look out of it. This too, just after it was torn and she was struggling to keep herself covered. Really Maan, I don't care if he was drunk when he said it, that was past any limit!"

Maan agreed and told Savitri that he would take care of things. Once his grandmother had left to go to her room, Maan pulled out his mobile and dialed Mr. Chopra. When the man answered, he told him in no uncertain terms that he would cancel the project unless Rahul was removed. He also had no problem telling Mr. Chopra just what it was that he found so objectionable about his CEO. Even doing that was not quite enough to get rid of Maan's frustrations, so he went for a nightly exercise session after ending the call.

"Ello? He...llooo! Tasha? Answer da phone!"

"Sasha? Sasha?" Tasha tapped the woman on the shoulder several times to get her attention.

Sasha turned her head slowly, keeping one hand on the bar counter to steady herself. Peering at the person standing in front of her, she blinked several, a confused look on her face. Then she took the phone away from her ear and gave it her full concentration for several moments. Putting it away, she laughed, turning back to Tasha once again.

"There you are. I called but you didn't answer. You sh... you... never mind. Taaashaaa, tell this idiot to give me 'nother martini! He better give, or he's fired. Done. The end."

Tasha grimaced at the way Sasha was speaking, as well as how she was leaning haphazardly against the counter. "Look, Sasha, I think you've had enough. Let's go home now."

"No! No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!"

"Ma'am, it's time for me to put everything away. The party wasn't schedule to last past 11:00. Why don't you go home?"

"No! I want 'nother maritininnnini...uh...uh.,.mar...ti...ni!"

"Sasha, do you promise to leave if the bartender makes you another martini?"

"Yes. Promise, promise, promise, promise, promise, promise."

Tasha requested the bartender to make one more martini, which had him saying, "She's already had three."

"I know, but I promise we will leave after this one."

Once the drink was in her hand, Sasha smiled, lifting it up in a toasting gesture, before she downed it's contents. Then she put the glass back on the counter, thanked the bartender, and moved to get off her stool. It was obvious to Tasha that she was totally plastered, for she fell down, sprawled all over the floor in a laughing heep.

"Tasha, I'm drunk!" she exclaimed, as if this was breaking news. "I'm sooo drunk! I'm drunk, righ'?"

"Yes, Sasha, you're drunk," Tasha confirmed, trying to heave the woman up off of the floor.

"Good. Take me to MK! I will tell him to get rid of this Geet and marry me! I am so druuunk! Take me to MK! MK marry me! Not that Geet, me!"

Later when she tried to wrestle Sasha into a cab and take her home, Tasha wished she had stopped the woman sooner. The woman was totally out of it, and she wouldn't stop singing. It was some drunken version of Umrao Jaan that had a lot of "No Geet" and "Only MK and Me" that had Tasha rolling her eyes. She just hoped that Sasha would be able to sleep it off and make it to work the next day.

Of course, it wasn't as simple as that. Being Sasha's secretary, when the woman came in still under the effects of her alcoholic binge, it was Tasha who bore the brunt of her anger. It was Tasha who was forced to run helter skelter fetching coffee, food and water as requested. Tasha made up for the abuse by recollecting her first hand knowledge of what happened the night before.

"Sasha...I mean Ma'am. I can't believe how much you drank last night, and yet you are still here this morning. I mean, you had those four martinis, plus two shots of whiskey, and I don't know what before that."

"Tasha, shut up! I did not drink that much," said Sasha as she rubbed her head, trying to get it clear of the pain she was feeling.

"I know you did Ma'am. If you hadn't, I don't think you would have ever told that bartender that always dream of DD making love to you on top of your office desk."

"Oh God, Tasha, just shut up and get me something for this hangover!"

Sasha couldn't believe she was so stupid as to get wasted last night. It was a good thing that MK hadn't come into the office yet. She couldn't afford to let him see her like this. The only good thing in all of this was that Sasha was sure that after the fiasco at the party, Geet would never show her face in KC again.

"Sasha, I mean Ma'am," called Tasha as she ran back into the office, slamming the door and causing a piercing pain to shoot through Sasha's temples.

"Tasha can't you be quiet, please!"

"Ma'am, DD is here," said Tasha, ignoring the request completely. "He's here and he's called an entire staff meeting to be held in five minutes. What are we going to do? What if that behenji told him what we did?"

"God, Tasha, can you just use your brains? Why would MK want to speak to the entire staff if Geet told him what happened? Just, hand over that medicine and let me think in peace!"

Precap

"I think I will talk to Dadima about maybe taking some correspondence courses, since I missed some school."

Okay, so I had to do some other stuff that took too long, and I wasn't quite able to get the last two updates finished. So, the Maha Week is extended for a day and I will be finishing those updates tomorrow.
