Guest House..

Maan was doing his thi chi, but every time he tried to concentrate, Geet's thoughts interrupted him. He was repeatedly imagining Geet, her resolute face, yesterday, when she was surrounded by those goons, her petit form, when she had fainted in his arms, and then finally when she had told him how sorry she was to have taken help from him. Somehow her words pinched him, he was not able to take her off his mind. Finally he gave up and stopped his practice. He angrily brushed his hand in his hair and gave a loud growl.

"Yeh ladhi kyun mere khalayon se nikal nhi pa rhi hai. Kyun main baar baar bas usi ke baare me soch rha hun. Kahi main sach me uss Geet ke sath kuch galat salook to nhi kar diya. Nahi aisa nhi ho sakta. Main galat nhi hun. Main nhi chata ki koi bhi mere kareeb aane ki koshish bhi kare. Nafarat hai mujhe thank your aur sorry jaise khokhale aur bemane shabdo se. Yeh to bas aapke jasbato se khilwad ka ek zariya hai. Nahi sunna chata main inhe"

"Par phir bhi kyun baar baar uska woh cheraha mujhe yaad aa rha hai, jab usne mujhe 'emotionless' kaha tha" he paused

"Haan nhi hain mujhme koi bhi emotions, nhi mehasoos krna chata hun main kuch bhi. Yeh khushiyan, pyaar, rishte, naate sab kuch bhut bada jhoot hain, ek chaalava hai. Yeh sab cheezein bas aapke dil se khelne ke liye bani hain, ek meetha jhalasa. Aur ek din, jab aap iss chalave ke peeche ke sach ko jaante ho to bahut deer ho chuki hoti hai. Aur tab aapke paas bas ek cheez hi bachti hai'.. woh hai dard, sirf dard. Aur woh dard itna gehara hota hai ki har koi usse sehan nhi kar pata, woh toot jata hai. Par Maan Singh Khurana unme se nhi jo itni aasani se toot jayein. Unse haar manni nhi seekhi hai. Na woh kal toot paya tha aur na hi woh aaj tutega" he resolved.

Next day at the office..

Geet was working in her cabin. It was already 10 and there was no sign of Maan in the office.

"Oh ho.. yeh ghadi ko kya ho gaya. Aaj issne MAAN SINGH KHURANA ko defy karne ki gustakhi kaise kar di. Unke aane se pehele hi 10 baja diye. Ooo Babaji, bechari ghadi ki raksha krna, usse us Kroor Singh Khurana ki krurta se bacha lena, kahi gusse me woh isse hi na kuch kar de" Geet mused.

Adi came in her cabin. "Geet, yeh rhi woh sample data ki files, jaise tumne mangi thi"

"Thank you Adi sir"

"aare Geet issme thank you ki kya baat hai. Chalo main chalta hun"

"Ek minute Adi sir. Sir ekk baat phuchu?"

"Haan pucho Geet"

"Sir yeh aaj Maan sir ko kya ho gaya. Woh abhi tak office kaise nhi aaye. Roz to ek dum correct time pe aise aa jate hain jaise woh gadhi ke hisab se nhi, gadhi unke hisab se chal rhi ho"

"Ha ah aha ah ah.. Geet aisa kuch nhi hai. Wo kya hai na, sir ka camping jaane ka mood ho gaya. Aur phir Delhi office me bhi kuch important kaam aa gaya, jo unke bina nhi ho pa rha tha. So he will not come to office for some days" and he left.

"Oo, shukar hai Babaji ka, uss khadoos se kuch din to rahat mili. Varna uski un daravni aakhon ke constant torture me to meri nanhi se jaan ka kya hota"

Days went by and Geet got engrossed in her work. She was working really hard and giving her best. She also became good friends with Adi and they always used to have their lunch together.

One day..

Geet was in her cabin, trying to get hold of some file. It was on a high shelf and she was standing on a stool to reach it, when suddenly she lost her balance. She was about to fall, but then..

(Yes you guessed it right'. 😉)

Maan came and grabbed her. Both were holding each other tightly, their eyes closed. He slowly opened his eyes to check if she was fine. She still had her eyes tightly shut, out of fear. But after realizing that she did not fall, she started opening her eyes, and looked at him. A mixture of feeling was visible on her face, a little fear, a little surprise, and a little relief. She was surprised because she had not expected him to be at the office. But then, suddenly Maan's expressions changed and he abruptly dropped her on the floor. She hit the floor with a thud and she hit it hard (uiii maaa 😆). At first, she could not believe that he had actually dropped her on the floor. Her mouth was open in an "O" shape. She looked up at Maan, who was standing, with hands on his waist and his face turned away from her.

"Yeh kya kiya aapne sir. Mujhe chod kyun diya?" she questioned him angrily.

He turned his face to look at her.."Kyun, tumne hi to kaha tha ki tumhe meri madad lena pasand nhi hai. To theek hai, main bhi nhi ki tumahari madad"

She mouth opened in a bigger "O"'. "Itni purani baat, aur inhe abhi tak yaad hai. Dushtasur kahi ke.. Mujhe itni zoor se gira diya.. Inki to.. Office me kadam rakha nhi ki ho gaye shuru yeh phir apni dushta karne.. Abhi batati hun inhe to main.." she mumbled not as softly as she had intended, Maan could hear all her selftalks.

But before he could say anything, she immediately got up with a jerk and dusted her hands.

"Thank you very much sir, jo aapne mujhe bachaya nhi. Varna main kaise aapne aap ko maaf kar pati, aapse madad lene ki galti ke liye. Oh My God, yeh main kya kar diya, itni badi galti kaise kar di, jo maine MAAN SINGH KHURANA ko thank you bol diya. Sorry Babaji, please meri yeh galti maaf kar dejia ga" she said dramatically joining her hands and looking up at the ceiling, acting to be praying to her Babaji.

This infuriated Maan further, and he started advancing towards her saying "Geeettt" with grinding teeth. But then he stopped mid way, thinking "Iss ladki se behas karne ka koi fayada nhi hai. Hamesha kuch na kuch ulta hi bolegi". All the while Geet was freigning to ignore him and not looking towards him.

"Iss se nipatne ka rasta aata hai mujhe" and Maan bent down to pick up the files he was bringing in for Geet and had dropped them to catch Geet when she was falling.

He grabbed Geet's one hand, roughly, shocking her, and slammed the pile of files in it.

"Yeh Techno Computers ki files hain. Aab meri baat dhayan se suno. Tumhe aaj ki aaj me in sari files ko padhke unka analysis karna hai. Mujhe kal subhe sharp 10 baje ek presentation chayia jisme tum is saare facts ko hamari team, jo ki iss project pe kaam kke saamne present krni hai"

And before she could even process what he had said, he left from there.

Once out of her cabin Maan stopped "Miss Geet Handa. Vaise to main tumhe yeh presentation 3 din baad dene ko bolne aaya tha, parrr.. aab dekhte hain ki tim kaise sirf aaj raat me yeh presentation prepare kar pati ho" he thought and turned and looked back at her still frozen figure. He smirked and left from there.
