So.. Emily's curiosity about Maan and Geet, especially Geet, her work , seems a bit odd.. it might just be that you have her questioning Geet to indirectly give us an insight into how it all works, but.. somehow its odd.

She has been asked to trust on intelligence of a woman who uses her knowledge of human behavior to influence the outcome of investigation. Maybe Emily isn't used to civilians being part of an active investigation. Basically she doesn't trust Geet :-) The influence Geet's words seem to have Maan also concerns Emily. So yeah, it IS meant to be odd :-)

And Geet seems a bit too collected. Even people who haven't dealt with violent losses on a personal level , get overwhelmed by it, like Satya said today.. but Geet. .. It might have to do with the profession , but then her involvement is evidently less often than the police, so..

She deals with people with disturbed minds on daily basis and it is her profession. She gets pulled into their fantasies when men and women tell her what they did and go on to explain what they are capable of. But in the past the crime scenes might have affected her and made her lose it questioning her sanity. In this story, its Maan who is acting bonkers. :)

The way she perused the crime scene.. something about the way she screamed that day to see if the neighbors would react, ..even her concern about Maan, and her systematic life..

I have been trying to sense that one thing which tells me shes ok, but so far, there's been none. Don't know why her calm bothers me, makes me feel like my mouth is crammed with words but ve been gagged and cant let them out.. . I want her to really flip out once at least.

Her calmness comes from detachment and I have to thank you for a nice idea I now have 😆 I will probably bring that out in coming few chapters...😆

and no, this does not mean I am suspecting her, not in the least. 😆..

Everyone is a suspect. Including milkman, mailman, driver, gardener, cable guy, electrician, plumber, house-helps etc etc

(PS: its called perverse mentality. I knew I shouldn't feed you the line 'the romance practically writes itself'.. but I did. like i know I shouldn't read your updates at night, but I do. Hopeless.)

On a serious note, I love the way the dynamics between this group work. I love these updates- the ones where we get to know the characters rather than just moving ahead with the story- which btw I am dying to know what happens

I find it so hard to believe that the Indian police system would work so efficiently or have so many honest people in its rank who would all be miraculously in one group and be allowed to handle such high profile cases🤔. I just imagine we are in some other country. 😵

Question that's be gnawing at me since 'Till Human Voices...' is Emily and the others white? And if they are, why are they in India and how do they understand hindi completely? 😆 I know, there are lots of white chicks in India but yeah...😳
