hey lovely people over there, i'm just so happy with your comments.. i really thank them all who took out time and encouraged me. also i apologize for late update. i have been busy with college work now i'm very much free and will give crisp and quick updates.

there is a special commentator whom i would want to mention sarkh (i dont know if this is her real name). Sarkh you are right, that panther is maan.. very good guess, so this update is specially for you. enjoy!!!

CHAPTER-2

SEVEN MINUTES

I stood up with a jerk. A black panther. So they weren't myths. Black panthers really exist here. But I didn't have any time to think about it. I just had to react. I traced few steps backwards in fear and then I turned and ran for my life. I crossed the trees and bushes and ran on the muddy land of the forest. I stopped as I heard my name "geet!!!!". My friends were still searching for me. I scuttled to the direction of the voices. There I could see the figures of them, about few yards and a minute of walk away. I could reach them. 'thank god!' I kept my hand above my bosom in relaxation. Then suddenly I could feel the wetness on my bare neckline that was due to my touch. I slowly lifted my hand and saw.. blood!

*flash* I felt something fluid on my hand. 'what was it on my side? Definitely not a rock, then what. It's very silky?' *flash ended*

So I understood that the panther was injured very badly. Hearing its painful growls, I couldn't help but turn back grasping my breath. Why was it being difficult? In front of me were the screams of my friends, who were searching for me; concerned about me. And when I turn back, the growl of a painful animal, which was yelping in pain and calling for help. The decision was very simple. To go to my friends and be on a safe side. But sometimes, there wouldn't be an answer for every question, there wouldn't be reason for every logic. We feel something very deep within. And we let go of all the scruples and do it. And I have done exactly the same. I retraced the same route but in reverse.

As I reached the panther, I took slow short steps towards it. Being both scared and cautious. Yet determined to heal it. The emerald pools were no longer visible. Perhaps it has lost it consciousness. But the black silky skin was trembling. At the centre of it were few claw cuts; deep and noxious. Hurt on its skin gave rise to a pain in my heart. That was so silly. That magnetic pull which brought me here, the pain which I was feeling, the connection that my soul was trying to create.. and that too with an animal!

I ignored my thoughts as I bent down and was trying to touch it. My hands were shaking when approaching its head. And suddenly it had opened its eyes; I fell back on my bums with a jerk and gulped down my saliva in fear. But the panther just blinked its eyes in innocence. I got up again and took out the stole from my neck and cleaned it wound. Though my parents work for national geographic I personally don't know how to heal animals. So it stood up and picked some leaves from the small tree and crushed them. They scented very strong, something like eucalyptus, though exactly not eucalyptus. As I put it on its wound it was giving it some cooling effect. It could be possible that this animal knew about these leaves and has come under it. I shook my head. How can animals think so much? Their IQ levels are not like humans. I was thinking too much at that time. But one thing was certain, I wasn't scared of it anymore. The way it was looking at me, it had some charmed innocence. Or rather say helplessness. Something lovable apart from its hypnotic emeralds and black silk. After this it had fell into a sudden slumber and I too decided its wise to go away from there. I left my scarf there itself as it was full of blood.

After some time I reached my friends. Meera crushed me under her bear hug and pinky was literally crying. Yash and Adi seemed like they have got alive from being dead. "guys," yash spoke, "enough of adventure for today. I just don't want to stay even a second more. Lets leave." All agreed. As I was going to sit in the jeep, I didn't feel like going. "geet?" pinky called, "what happened?" I looked at my watch. Last seven minutes,' just seven minutes made my thoughts unstable, as if I'm losing something very precious. Adi too said, "hurry up geet!" I had to brush beside those thoughts. And we left the place.

We had two options either to go back home or go to fatakatchee strands as planned. We chose the later. And that's it, we reached our holiday destination. It was a great place. Adi had a great time with photography, yash and meera were so happy with their adventure sports. And pinky was just so cool with the sight seeing, the birds the animals, the rare and ornamental plants, it was worth. But I wasn't still happy. This was the most awaited trip for me, but I didn't give into any activities.

Later at night, "geet" yash came to me. "what happened?"

-"nothing yash, just tired" I replied.

-"hmm" he sighed "tired haan.."

"by the way madam what did you actually do to get tired?" he asked me.

We talked for sometime. He told me what we have come for and what I was doing. No one has asked me since morning that doesn't mean that they didn't notice. I felt relaxed.

Next day I gave into all the plans. And I really enjoyed a lot. But unfortunately that was our last day. We had planned this trip for five days but were just leaving in two days. Because we had left out tent in the everglades and it had been very difficult the previous night to sleep. So as soon as it was evening we had started our journey back to St.Petersburg. We reached there next morning.

After coming home, I had shown mom and dad, all our pictures that we took and told them about the adventures, the camping, the birds and also that we had run away from the everglades. But I had modified it. I didn't tell them about the panther. In fact I hadn't told about it to my friends too. My inner conscience was telling me to keep quiet.

Later at night in my pink world, I mean in my bedroom, I came from having my hot aroma bath. Ah!!! I just love the smell of them. I was drying my hair when I suddenly felt the influence of strong violent winds. The windows were shuttling with sounds, the red curtains and white drapes of my rooms were blew flexibly and erratically. I first went to the switch board and switched off the dim lights and put on the fluorescent ones. I felt some shadow outside the windows. "Who is it?" "Who is it over there?" I asked, looking on either sides. But there was no one. So I shut the windows and relaxed. Later I closed the curtains and went to a deep sleep.
