This small prayer is usually chanted before starting anything auspicious.This prayer invokes Lord Ganesha, who has a huge body and twisted trunk to remove all obstacles which normally come our way while we start any new work.

Guys i would like to tell you the story of how Lord Ganesh came to life

Story starts as below:-

Mata Parvathi had to go for bath but Bhagwan Shankar had gone out with his followers & no one was there to guard her . So Parvathi decided to make an idol from mud , after making the idol from mud she chanted some mantras to put life into idol , which in turn came to be a healthy boy .

She kept his name as Ganapati , from now onwards you are my son . I wish you to stand near the entrance of the cave & guard it , don't allow anyone to enter inside the cave till I finish my bath & puja.
He said "I will obeyed your orders , Mother " .
She made him stand near the entrance & went to have bath.

Later on when Bhagwan Shankar returned back he was surprised to see a boy standing near the entrance of the cave & asked him , who he was & from where he came from & was about to enter the cave.

Ganapati ; Stop no one is allowed to enter inside
B.Shankar : How dare you to stop me??
Ganapati ; I am following my mothers instruction.
B.Shankar : but she is my wife..
And their debating moves on .
B. Shankar became more furious & in that anger Ganapati was beheaded by B.Shankar.

Hearing his scream Parvathi came out & was shocked to see Ganapati beheaded.
Parvathi : Prabhu what have u done to my son, I told him to keep watch as I went to have bath & narrated how the boy was bought to life by her' I can't stay without him, I want my son back , do anything & give him life.
B.Shankar : how can it be possible he is already beheaded by me.
Parvathi : I don't know , I not going from here & She sat near Ganapati.

After thinking a lot B.Shankar & his followers went to Lord Bramha & narrated the whole story.
L.Bramha : Go in jungle tomorrow early morning & whichever animal u see first behead that animal & join the head of that animal to your son's body.

B.Shankar & his followers left early morning & after walking a lot the came across the elephant, without wasting any time, the elephant was beheaded & the head of elephant was joined to the body of Ganapati' Lord Bramha chanted mantras & put life to the body of Ganapati.

He was alive with the head of elephant & then onwards Ganapati came to known as GAJANAN .

This was the Family Shiv , Parvati & Ganesh

There one more Story of Ganpati , Mouse & Moon

Why we don't see moon on the first day of Ganesh Chaturthi .
(Which falls on 4th day of Bhadrapath month)

Ganapati always travelled on mouse which was his source of travelling .

Once he was traveling he fell down from the mouse . Moon saw this & laughed at him .

Moon: you are so huge and traveling on that mouse who is so weak.
Ganapati : no need to laugh at me, & in anger he cursed Moon that no one will see your face on the first day of Ganesh Chaturthi and who ever sees you will be badly punished in some other way.

Hence it is said that we avoid to see moon on the first day of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Gajanan is well known as Scholar in Mathematics .

Ganesha also wrote mahabharata narrated by Ved vyasa
