Hey all...back with chapter 2 of this...i know u are all waiting for answers but they will take time..i am trying to show the relationship of Maaneet and how they were...so hang in there 😊

Ch.2

Tossing and turning, sleep refused to come despite my best efforts. I wasn't use to going use to falling asleep without holding her in my arms

Flashback

We were curled in bed together after the usual day ready to doze off. I had my arms wrapped around her waist as she snuggled close to my chest. We were fall asleep within minutes.

Just then Geet's cell phone ringing woke up both from a deep slumber. I looked at her as she opened half an eye to squint at the display.

"It's Pinky," geet said with a trace of worry at her baby sister who was studying in London was calling when she knew how late it was in Delhi.

She picked it up quickly, "hey Pinks" Pinky said something on the other end. "Hmm..okay. Hold on a sec", she said moving the phone away.

"I will be back. Go to sleep baby." she said to me kissing me lightly on the lips.

She grabbed her robe securing it around herself before she picked up the phone again. "Yeah Pinks"

When she left, the bed felt too empty and cold to fall asleep. So I decided to turn my laptop on deciding to get some work done while I waited.

After about twenty minutes, she opened the door quietly thinking I was sleeping but she was surprised to see me awake.

"You are still awake Maan?", she asked sliding into the covers next to me. I put my laptop on the side table. I pulled her close to me as we both laid back down.

"When I was the last time either one of us has slept without the other since we got married?", I asked swinging one of my hands over hers as we cocooned close.

"Umm, let me think.', she said pretending to think deeply. "In the years, we have been married. Ummm, oddly that has never happened.", she said with wide eyes as if she was shocked.

I laughed softly at her antics, "So how could I sleep without you now?"

"Oh, why did Pinky call so late? Is everything okay?", I asked.

'Oh, nothing important...Just girly talk.", she said brushing it off.

"At two in the morning?", I asked arching one of my eyebrows.

"Okay fine, you caught me. But everything is okay.", she said and I believed her. Pinky and Geet were close as ever even with the eight-year difference they shared.

She kissed my heart and closed her eyes with a smile, 'I love you, you know that?"

"And I love you my jalebi", I said using the name I fondly called her.

I turned off the lights leaving one of the lamps on low.

"Good night love", I whispered as I held her in my arms feeling the warmth of her body.

Flashback end

Throwing the covers aside, I decided to go to the terrace to watch the star filled night. I strolled along the terrace grazing at the stars and ended up sitting on the outdoor swing she had brought home one day; and there was she was again.

Flashback

I walked in after a long day at the office, as Nakul Kaka was there to receive me at the door.

"Namasate Kaka, where is Geet?", I asked as he held out his hand to take my briefcase which was always what Geet did but I shook my head at him telling him it was okay.

"She is on the terrace Maan baba, she told me to tell you to come upstairs when you get home.", Nakul kaka said.

"Hmmm, okay. Thank you kaka.", I said climbing the stairs two at a time. I walked to the terrace to see her resting herself on a new beige outdoor swing. I went to stand beside the pole purposely making noise with my shoe soles but she kept her eyes closed as she swung herself back and forth.

"Geet?", I said slowly not understanding why she was giving me a cold shoulder.

"I am sorry but I am busy watching the stars with my hubby.", she said coldly keeping her eyes closed.

Shit, crap, I was so late, i realized. Strike one; I thought to myself. I glanced at the watch and it read 10:00 pm; I was two hours late getting home.

"Oh baby, you see the thing is--", I said slowly as I placed my hand on her shoulder.

"No Maan, you see. I have been waiting for you to come home for the last two hours. I have been calling you not that you would pick it up."

Crap, strike two for you Maan Singh Khurana, I thought.

"We spend the entire day apart from each other; you're at work and I am busy with med school. All I ask is that you come home at the time you promise so we can spend a couple of hours together. ", She said with absolutely no anger almost as if she was not upset at all which I knew she was.

"I know baby, I am so sorry.", I said as I pulled her next to me on the swing. She just looked in the opposite direction. "Baby please, I promise I will be home everyday on time to watch the stars with you every night.", I said holding her chin lightly and bringing it to face me.

"Promise?", she asked as she entwined our hands together.

"Promise", I said sealing it with a kiss.

Flashback end.

No matter where I was; her memories would continue to come, I decided to go to the attic where I could embrace her memories in peace.

Hmm...both the FBs are lovely...both define the tone n intensity of their relationship...why such a short one??I'm guessing that may be Geet had gone to her sister Pinky in London for some emergency while Maan is unable to accompany her...this is far more re-assuring tahn any other possibility regarding Geet's absence...so for now that's what I will think till u reveal the truth...😛😆
