What amazes me is the Geet's greatness in forgiving Dev. In the episode too before forgiving Geet gives reason/justification on why she was forgiving Dev. According to me I don't think as a victim she had to give justification but for the sake of a serial and its audience she had to say that as the team knew that it would hurt its viewer's sentiments a lot. So, she says that she has to die too, and have to go to God's house. She is not just thinking about her future life with Maan, she is also thinking about her own spiritual attainment. She fears Babaji and always has faith in him and her instinct said that God wanted her to forgive Dev. She has always listened to her instincts and has left everything to God. It was Babaji who helped her made the decision of keeping the baby in the first place. He guided her into that direction and when forgiving Dev he guided her again. It was her greatness that she was able to forgive him and move on. She was also striving to become a perfect human being which is the goal of entire human race according to all religions and Gods. I know human beings can never be perfect but we can at least try and that is what God wants too "perfection".
It is kind of hard for us to really digest that as women, we feel disgusted by how can she forgive but that is her greatness. Remember, it happened to her, she is the victim not us. It takes a lot of jigra to do that and my God this girl's got it. If this person has a heart to send his brother in jail then this girl also has heart to forgive them.
On seeing Dev being lovesick and actually helping him, how can Geet do this?
1. Geet has completely moved on and have forgiven him and have even forgotten what Dev did. Yes I am saying forgot and I know that many women would disagree because there is a saying that is women can forgive but never forget. But think about it, if a person has not completely forgot then they cannot forgive that person completely either. So to forgive, Geet had to forget for her own sanity and for to achieve her goals that was be with her husband and not go against God's wishes.
2. Geet has got some great coping skills. When she found out about what had happened with her she had myriad of reactions from being frozen, to stressed, to weeping, to not eating. She tried to leave, she tried to contact Dev and communicate with him, and she finally in the end finds him and does sends him to jail. She has in fact truly coped with her experience. First she was doing it alone but then she found someone who helped her. If we watch earlier episodes we have found that even MSK saying ki she is going through too much and all I am thinking is about my pain. We have also seen Geet feeling worried about Maan when Maan tries to find out about Dev but she realizes how much it was hurting him. So, in way I feel that Geet in fact forgave Dev way early on partially not completely when she realized her love for Maan. It depends upon the victim's coping skills and Geet has definitely acquired great coping skills.
3. Geet and Maan helping out Devini show their mahanness and shows that Geet has no ill will towards him because Dev does not effect her anymore.
Now on geet's character getting assassinated?
Well, if she was raped and was victim at some point in her life is she supposed to feel like victim for the rest of her life? Is she supposed to fight for social justice, is she supposed to not have a silly, fun moments with her husband anymore? Is she supposed to be vigilante all the time in her life? Is she supposed to be the champion of women rights just because of the things that happened to her?
I think NO
So moving on this time again she prays to Babaji about what Maan is doing. She has full faith in God and her husband. She for the first time doesn't have to fight battles all by herself, she can kick back, relax and enjoy the show, for once she has this awesome support, awesome husband who she owns and no one else. Geet has this amazing relationship with him, where she has given him the freedom to do what he can do. Maan is no jhuru ka ghulam and Geet doesn't want him to be jhuru ka ghulam either. So, it could be that she is just checking him as she knows that how angry Maan gets too. Just like today Geet stops Maan when she was about to say Beeji something. Would we have liked if Maan said more bura bhala to Beeji. Indirectly doing this he would be hurting Geet. Geet, again diffuses the situation. Are we forgetting Maan's safed khoon comment? Because Maan is not supposed to do that as Maan is different for Geet. Geet cannot bear that. She left home because it hurt her more because it was Maan, her rock who insulted her. And same goes in this situation; she doesn't want Maan to insult anyone out of his anger. She is trying to let Maan see her pov and that is why so much of silliness from her. She is doing that subtly. But she can be like that na with Maan. Maan won't judge her wife's silliness. Maan needs to see her pov too. She never asked Maan to buy the house. She even mentions why did you buy the house? So mia-biwi ki nok jhok and that's fine. As Geet have a right to be silly at times and show nakhre like other biwis. I actually love this notorious side of Geet. In a way it is her bindassness, she is going to do whatever pleases her and I am glad she is not making herself victim again. Imagine the praise she is going to get from god when God sees that Geet is actually helping out Devini. "Hallelujah"
Geet, Geet after today I have fallen more in love with you...You are you and no one can change that!
The another great trait of Geet's greatness was which I think is the most important one is how she turned this MSK from arrogant, angry, sometimes moron to a loveable character. It was Geet who changed him too. I will never gorgive what she said to him, "you might be physically more powerful than me but your thinking is highly low-rate" that obviously send chills to MSK. Geet is same as she doesn't want to stoop to the level of Beeji and Teji, thats not her style, she didn't do that with Maan and she isn't going to do that with them either. IT'S THE SAME GEET HUM LOGO KO APNA NAZARIYA BADALNA HOG USKO SAMJHNE MEIN.
I loved it when Geet said not to come after her to MSK when she gets hurt...Too much of smothering from Maan, not good for Geet, let the girl be who she is, man! She has a right to make decisions too! For the first time I think jane anjane main cvs might be doing the right thing and justice to her character by not portraying her the victim anymore.
What amazes me is that DD has accepted this as a challeneg and is doing justice to this Geet who is not a victim anymore.
PART 1 Geet was victim and DD played and acted according to that.
PART 2 Geet is not victim anymore and is also playing and acting according to that role.
Cheers to DD's acting!
Chako dikhaya aaj Geet ne..muah! Geet toh vahi hai, sirf hum log hi nahi samajh paye!!!!!
Need I say more, I can, I feel her character is not assassinated that as much as we are thinking. Lets kick back with Geet and enjoy what MSK is doing for a while. Lets see her new avtar of being silly and fun all in the raj of MSK.
