geet handa and maan khurana....these r the two characters that got us hooked to the show....never before seen love saga....literally "cant live widout each other" sort of love story kept us loyally attached to the show...

geet handa...the woman of today...a mere 18 year old girl cheated by dev in the worst way possible....even before she tasted the bliss of marriage and love....her fake hubby slept with her and next day abandoned her to fend for herself...
her own family stood against her....even tried to kill her....

geet was born in a family where a girl's existence is worse than a piece of furniture....treated like some dirt to be dusted away....
she learnt never to speak for herself....never to express her dreams....and also expecting to abide by the wishes of the men in the family....

in spite of her reluctance and dream to study further...her so called well wishing family got her engaged to a gud luking NRI from canada...not bothering to check his background...
geet abides by their wishes and silently accepts her fate....

then comes maan singh khurana in her life...a stranger who saved her life....a stranger who in their first meeting gave her the basic lesson of life that unless she can stand on her feet she can never win in any situation....

from then on there hv been many encounters...and everytime the situation was adverse....ironically maan was the buyer of the land which dev got from geet by fraud....
but the first lesson taught by maan had already made geet a stronger woman who now realises that being a woman she has every right to justice...
and maan himself cud face the change in geet...nomore is geet someone who wud take insult thrown at her face...and wen maan accused her for trapping him for marriage...he got the shock of his life wen she was about to hit her....
that day he learnt the frightened woman he met on the first day is nomore....

and i guess that was the day wen the first seed of respect was sown in maan's heart....

later on maneet love saga started....they fell in love with each other in a way unprecedented in any legendary love story....
specially...maan's love has passed every hurdle thrown at his face...

he saw in geet the modern, brave and a proud girl who will go to any length to give birth to her baby....
his love grew in leaps and bounds and her respect for geet made him accept her baby as his own...
they got married after lots of ups and downs in their relation...but everytime their love triumphed....

the trust, the understanding they share r enuf to withstand any bitter truth thrown at them...even knowing that dev is his bro...maan stood beside geet and sent dev to jail to give justice to his lady love....

maan cud see the raw hatred in geet's eyes for dev wen she mistook maan as favouring his bro...he cud see her walking away from the only love in her life just to seek justice for herself...pained though he was...he learnt a gud lesson that like himself geet is also strongly against injustice...

later on they get married and it was true bonding of 2 ppl passionately in love....

but then their past took shelter in their own home...dev entered unceremoniously in their life....due to unwanted situations dev ended up giving his blood to maan....

how maan felt to hv a criminal's blood flowing in his vein is secondary because at that time geet had no other choice to save his life...and for geet at that time nothing was more imp that her maan's life...
later on she had to face the wrath of maan who even preferred death...to which geet gave him a fitting reply that how he can be so selfish to think of his own ego wen he has taken the responsibility of her and her baby...
how come today his life has become his own....doesnt she and her baby hv any right over him....
and maan faced the reallity that for geet he has to live with this fact that dev saved his life....

then came the MC....the pain was beyond anything that maan and geet ever felt before....the baby around which they were weaving their dreams and their life...suddenly one fine day it was nomore...

suddenly everything began to fall apart...although each cud feel the pain of the other....but noone cud deal with their own pain enuf to reach out to the other....
and circumstances led to dev stepping between them....

and even before they knew MU crept in between them....maan who was under the notion that geet's hatred for dev is deep-seeded just like his hatred for dev...suddenly saw her forgiving dev....he was shocked beyond belief wen he saw geet allowing dev to touch her...geet putting tika on him....

the lion in him who was so long suppressing the growing anger and frustration...came out with a roar...a roar which tore apart geet...geet who became dumb with shock at the abuses hurled by maan that too in front of dev...cud no longer stay under the same roof as maan...

and she left...she left the one man who gave her life wen she lost all hope...she left the one man who taught her to dream wen she thot her every dream has been shattered by dev....she left the man who accepted her past with open arms....she left the man who loved her for wat she is today and not wat she had to go thru in her past....
everything became hazy with one moment of angry outburst from maan....

now coming to geet....maan is someone who loves her more than his life...y wud he then hurt her....he who always lifts his hand to erase her tears...y wud be cause her to shed tears...
has geet introspected? not yet...

dev has treated her like a doormat...he used her for financial gain and then threw her away not before using her body to fulfill his momentary lust....
he has spoiled her whole life...but geet has forgiven him...geet wants to move on and so she has forgiven him...

is this a woman of today...who wants to move on in her life by letting her perpetrator go free....wat if dev takes this as a weakness of women and goes on to rape another woman thinking that tmrw that other woman will also forgive him...

as a woman of today is this not her duty to teach dev a lesson by putting him behind bars for the rest of his life...by doing this she cud hv set an example for other potential rapists who wud think twice before spoiling a girl's life....

a woman of today does not only live for herself and her family...she lives for the society....she lives to set example as a woman of substance to other downtrodden women....and geet had the potential to do that....she fought against all odds to strive for justice...to protect her baby out of wedlock....

today....her excuse is that she wants to leave behind her past...she wants to free maan of his hatred for dev....
y so...maan's hatred is justified...y shud he stop hating a criminal who spoiled his wife's life...maan who has always abided by his principles of justice....y shud he forgive dev....

and as a woman of today how come she strives to find peace in her life by letting dev go free....for a today's woman peace shud come from punishing her perpetrator and not by forgiving him..

As a woman & as a wife she has failed big time. Where is self respect in her anyways .... it was wouldn't she confront him before walking out..I could if I were in her shoes...isn't that what she had done with her family before she left them....that was strength of a woman not this...
Where is her self respect that does not mind living off as a house guest at a relatives place...
Where is her self respect when she saw her husband humiliated...& instead of reaching him she went to sleep..how could she even get herself to rest he dint rest when he learnt she is hurt...he rushed to reach her, sooth her....dint she feel the need to reach him...
Where is her self respect that stays mum at all bad mouthing her husband..where is it when all are controlling her life..& where is it when someone like Darji has come to decide her & Maan's relations fate....

Its not self respect ..rather never was..it was always about Self only.
