Silver Poise: What an AWESOME post. 🤗🤗🤗

It's drama but the opinions reflect the real life. A female character is judged based on what the man feels or says and never analyzed based on her traits. The same is the story of real life: a girl has to be a good wife, a good mother, a good daughter to prove her worth even if she is a high achieving person. The same yardsticks are never used for the man.

The Q that is being asked again and again is: "Why did Geet walk away since MSK's words were mild in comparison to the lady's stupidity?"

I applaud the writer for writing such demeaning lines and still a majority found them mild.

Hey, Thanks for posting. The point I am trying to make is that- Geet has never viewed Dev as her rapist. Not once has she dwelled on the past in such a fashion that the viewers could discern that she felt anything other than deep sense of betrayal on Dev's abandonment. We are projecting our own sensibilities and values on the the character and getting frustrated when she doesnt act or react in the way we think is correct.

Also please remember- its far easier to forgive people who mean nothing to you rather than the people who love you. The more deeply you love someone, the more capacity they have to hurt and wound you where it would hurt you most. Thats why I think Geet is going to find it hard to forgive Maan this time. He hit her where he knew it would hurt the most.

Shraddha, a great post. 👏

Indeed forgiving someone is a personal choice. But I don't think forgiving Dev was just a choice for Geet to make, and I will explain why.

I am one of the few who was a little unhappy about Geet walking out of Maan;s life this time and here is my explanation for it.

Maan has been rude to Geet many times before. Some argue that this was the first time he attacked her self-respect. I disagree. The scene after their wedding when Geet caught Maan sleeping on the couch and questioned him, he said some worse things then. He told her that he had given her all aish and aaram and the Khurana bahu ka dharja and that she should be happy with that and not expect any more. Is that not worse? What bothered me was the inconsistency in her reaction, especially considering the fact that she did not understand his actions the last time but now, she was expecting him to be angry with her anyway. If the fact that she lost her baby is any justification for her extreme emotional action this time, than why doesn't the same hold good for Maan's actions? And the one most imporatnt point this time he that his statement was not conclusive at all. He said "agar geet ke khoon mein woh gairat nahi hai toh isme mein kuch nahi karsakta".

Thinking of this from Maan's point of view, his whole hatred towards Dev is for Geet. I certainly don't agree that the choice to forgive Dev is just her's to make. His relationship equation with Dev changed because of her. Yes, it was his personal choice to hate Dev for his actions but Geet totally supported it. When she misunderstood Maan's conversation with daadi before their initial plan to wed, she walked out on him simply because he she thought he chose to side with his brother. I honestly believe that his hatred for his brother intensified because of his love for Geet. And so, how is it just her decision to forgive Dev now? What about the journey Maan went through all this while and his changing equations with everyone in his own home? Maan is highly egoistic and Geet had always known it. But he went against everyone and fought for her, fought her battle? I don't agree that the choice to give it all up was just her choice. She should have consulted with Maan. He lost a child too and was very hurt emotionally and the whole situation played incorrectly.

I want to make it clear that I am certainly not siding with Maan over Geet. I think in this current situation both of them were wrong and they should both repent their actions. I am a little uncomfortable with them portraying this whole thing as solely Maan;s mistake. Maan and Geet should learn to understand each other better and start to communicate with each other a lot better. 😃

@SSwatis...Maan hasnt even said sorry to her yet, (he did via radio and Geet cried hold his pic) but they havent come face to face na...let him come and she will forgive him, give him the chance to say sorry! If he was so concerned he would stop her from leaving! He didnt even follow her after she said Maan and walked away!

Rhyming Pine: Geet made an on the spot decision to break free from the past and create the future. It was not planned but one can say an impulsive one. And most of the on the spot choices are not made by consulting everyone. And she did try to tell him that she forgave Dev but MSK was too busy in his hatred to listen.

What was left there when the man only announces that it's none of his concerns if she lacks self-respect and has no class. Stand there and pray that he calms down so she can soothe his gigantic ego and insecurity.

Didn't look easy to me...everyone at home realized her NEED to leave...
Plus, she was walking very very slowly...filled with memories of when she came...

It is her house, yes, where the man, who made this house and this world with her said something like that to her..how could she stay when he insulted the lady of the house?😕

@ Setfree: Let me try and answer the last question- Why did she choose to walk out....Some of us run from problems and some us stay and fight. They say Fight or Flight are the only two responses that are naturally programmed into all of animal kind. She chose flight- her natural instinct. You and I may choose to stay and fight (and beat Maan black and blue)- our natural instinct 😆. I dont think either of the responses is right or wrong- the choice is entirely based on how we are wired!

What is more important- Self respect, pride or relationships....Thats a tough choice that one needs to make and at times balance in life- who said being a woman was easy! We are the most under appreciated female species on the planet
