Why is social marriage so important if not for some reason that is external rather than internal? So what if a baby is involved? Don't people have babies out of wedlock, don't people adopt? Why are we trying to turn the wheel back with out moralistic outpourings?

@All:Ok we hv two perspectives here...And I agree with both..lets accept that In India even today Maariage is important becuase we r living in a society which is still hesitent when it comes to live-in relationships...even if we say both r married with parineeta metaphor..but society acceptance is very important here because its also the question of child's future..tomorrow when Maneet will go for child's admission in a school they hv to b legally married ...they cannot say we r married by parineeta metaphor😆...so somewhere marriage papers does hold importance😊...now from fiction POV,we can get an interesting story for sometime in the form of live-in relationship which can eventually culminate into marriage before the birth of the child😃

@Pooja - True. Each character was different and strong. But everybody was always sidelined by the presence of Lord Krishna. MSK can be that central character here.

So what if Shankutala went through all that??? Is she not a strong woman??? Why should people live up to something we have in our mind as sense of right and wrong? They should do what is right for them and what is right for their world.

At the end of the day, Shakuntala had given birth and taught strength of character to Bharatha!!!

Ash: The story has to go forward and new characters have to come in to move it. It'll great to see new character giving takkar to Mann. Dev is not happening at all 😆😆😆

@Ash- Agree ...but i think mahabharata as a series on tv as well as Raajneeti as an adaptation was a hit amongst both class and mass😉
