@ Bri, yes Shakuntala lived her life alone and became stronger but is it something she had wanted? She had no choice, didn't she? It is not so much as what is right and wrong but the fact remains that we live in a society and not in a vacuum. The fact remains that children raised out of wedlock do not have it easy. So when it is within the means to provide that stable house to that child, why not is my question.

Opti: I do not watch that show ... not a show watching person at all. And, why not treat a story as a story and even extra-marital has potential to explore again if you see shows strictly from story point. Why always the protagonist girl should be vice free. We decide what is morally wrong and right but we should mark that boundary for one self only and not set the same boundary for others. 😊

If we keep on saying that some 2-bit piece of paper and some 2-bit piece of thread or whatever as per ritual is more important than the human being's sense of their own value system and we try to mock at it, then the earth would still be flat, planes would never fly and water would never go up through pipes!!!

Change is inevitable, you have to see how human relationships evolve rather than get stuck up in some outdated cesspool of moralistic posturings that really are standing on debatable grounds and are valid only because of mob psychology.

@Ditzy - Yep, It was the fight for the truth. Hence the reason I keep telling we need not copy characters to characters. Just the essence and keep the story going with a slight reference to the original here and there.

@Pooja - Yes, Dev as Duryodhan is not right. Guess NT will be the modern day Mahabharat's Duryodhan.

Since we are setting so much store on so-called marriage and its sanctity, let me ask realistically, how many marriages and how many partners are true in mind, body and spirit 24 x 7 and there you have the answer!!!

Sorry for hurting everyone's sentiments here, but I hate hypocrisy or even the whiff of a sense of sanctimonious judgment calls.

'We really need to rip the facade out of the marriage myth!!!
