If rituals are not so important then why have those symbols in the Parineeta metaphor which are akin to the rituals to justify it? Yes, Maaneet are married in their souls but should that pre-empt a social marriage? Since a baby is involved, a marriage is not only for the sake of property and proprietory.

@bdgt: I think u are bri. Loved what you said. Personally though I am a believer of the institution of marriage, trust and faith in each other should be enough for a lifelong commitment.

An: don't know if u have ever heard of the series called far pavilions. It was a British drama. Your lines remind me of that story time and again. Society and love 😳.

@Pooja - We can take the essence of Mahabharata, keeping it as a guideline and base the characters on that. At the end of the day its a business and the class and the mass both need to be satisfied.

@Ash- Agree ...but i think mahabharata as a series on tv as well as Raajneeti as an adaptation was a hit amongst both class and mass😉
