A Message to Star One:
First off let me tell you what attracted me to Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi. I was attracted to GHSP because it is a bold show with a bold social message. It is not a run of the mill Indian soap with a worn out Saas-Bahu storyline. GEET is a much needed breath of fresh air on Indian television. But, now it seems that the same people who were bold enough to give green light to such a bold show is leading the show towards self destruction. And for what? For the sake of TRPs!! The channel that was bold enough to create such a vision is back tracking itself to please the masses.
All of past week I was so frustrated with the CVs of the show for their lack of logic in terms of scene progression. Then imagine my surprise to learn that it's the Channel itself that is editing out essential scenes. Scenes that are very much necessary for not only to the progression of the story but also the consistency of characters. The scenes that I'm referring to are those self reflection scenes that were NOTICEABLY absent!! Where was Maan's self talk scene after Geet revealed about her pregnancy? After revelation of her fraudulent marriage? Most of all, where was the self reflection scene from both Geet and Maan, following their engagement at the railway station? EDITED OUT!! That's where they were! They were EDITED out by the Channel!! And replaced with what? ILLOGICAL scenes catered towards pleasing the masses!! Think about this, you spent more air time on Maan and Geet trying to one-up each other in the out-house with their childish games. Even worse, you gave more air time for Pari to say "Dreamy!" than you gave Maan and Geet for ESSENTIAL and LOGICAL scenes. Also, stop RUSHING the scenes and disrupting the natural flow of the story. Do you think that people don't get confused due to lack of proper transition between scenes? You can't possibly think that you can distract the audience by showing us a stripping act in place of an essential scene. Please, don't question the intelligence of the audience! If you do, I promise you, you will live to regret it! NO ONE will watch your show and I know StarOne can't afford to lose any more viewers with GHSP practically keeping the channel afloat.
So here is what you can do to fix the mess you have created. STOP EDITING! It's as simple as that. Show the audience that you HAVE the guts to stick to your guns against naysayers and their moral compass still stuck in the 1900s. Show us BOLD romantic scenes between Maan and Geet. Start this by showing us the UNEDITED version of Roop Tera Masatana!! You will not be sacrificing TRPs. The classes of the audience will appreciate you for having the guts to show us something new, something different and most of all something BOLD. In regards to the masses--Do you have any doubt that the masses will love passionate scenes between Maan and Geet? If you do, TRUST ME on this, they will love it and the TRPs will go through the roof. Isn't that what you wanted in the first place? TRPs? You will get it the TRPs and do it in a manner that will follow through with the same vision that you started the show- by showing us something BOLD, by not selling out!! This way you won't be sacrificing your integrity for the sake of TRPs. Keep in mind that you are at the tipping point. As of now, you still have the chance to save the show from going completely off track and towards self destruction. Do this before the GHSP crosses the point of no return and suffer the same consequences as your other shows!! Do it fast because your clock is ticking!!
