Sookie, i've came across loads of your writings actually. It's just that i don't leave my comments behind often coz i usually read them on the go..

So this thread of yours is on Directors..i read the other one on the famous Novels. That was just BRILLIANT, beyond words! I just read the "James Bond" one..Will read the first page..but i know it'll be just as good as your other writings!!

Devi's recommended director - Mahesh Bhatt

Viewers are flabbergasted to see that the 22 minutes episode is reduced to only 12 minutes. And warning/disclaimer which comes in the start of the show is made bold and big and is shown for almost a minute.
Next day they realize - 10 minutes of the show was censored.

Maan is a philandering man whose profession is never known but only know that he is handsome and he is told that there will be handful of *cough* bold *cough* scenes.

Mahesh Bhatt wanted to cast his daughter, Pooja Bhatt, as Geet but production house flatly refused. He gave up and accepted the actress allocated.

Back to the series. After two episodes viewers start recognizing at least half a dozen Hollywood movies and sigh in despair. Yet good music and cinematography keep them hooked to the show.

Soooo.... Maan and Geet have an affair and everyone wonders why wont they just get married and get it over with it. But NO. Mahesh Bhatt introduces some irrational complexity and multitude of gray shaded characters and the entire series becomes a mess.

One fine day censor board ignores a particular hot scene and the viewers are shocked to see that scene. YouTube sees a million hits and thousand of downloads of that episode and the next morning all hell breaks loose.

- Many of news channels talk about television ruining younger generation. Mahesh Bhatt says - Who the fk lets their kids watch a show like that? The parents should be shot or something. Yet another round of scandal and too much of media coverage.

- Geet Forum on IF gets divided into - "Lets have bold scenes" vs "Bold scenes are anti ethical" groups. One dozen new forum moderators are appointed and finally the webservers of IF crash and burn and the site goes down for many hours. Moderators sigh a breath of relief.

- Mahesh Bhatt attends every darn interview in every channel and fights for his right. Whatever "rights" they are.

- The serial tones down in its content, becomes ordinary and finally its taken off air.

Mahesh Bhatt talks about it in every interview and how he is always sidelined and all that blah. He announces that he will direct season 2 of the Geet. Production house refuses to comment.
