What I want to see... but am never gonna get...

Each of us have a certain expectation, a wish, a fantasy to see something we like and truly believe in, in our favorite television show. It is possible that our own whimsical expectation just does not align with the mass expectation or the storyline or does not even belong to the realms of reality (or it can be too realistic for anyone to care a dime 😆)

So, write away the scenes, storyline that you most want to see or behavior/traits that you wish to see in your favorite characters but you know that the chances of that happening in this show is less or impossible.

Below are my take:

1) Maan asking Geet to finish her education by taking evening classes or distant education.

Its sad that no one really cares for the importance of education. I generally don't care much about that in most serials but I kind of liked it when Geet initially says that she wants to study instead of getting married. Now that she has additional responsibilities I know that she will never take that initiative. I wish Maan takes it up and encourages her to study.

2) Geet learning something about work and Maan evaluates it from time to time.

There are so many things that one can explore using work environment setting. Geet does not know a thing about construction business domain yet she has somehow managed to survive for this long. Not as a track but as a continuously progressing subtle track, I wish Maan teaches her things about work - nothing grand but basic stuff and sees the way she picks it up and executes it on her own in coming days.

3) Maan and Geet have a honest conversation about life, complexity and other things.

I really wish to see them actually talk. They are from totally different backgrounds and have had radically different childhoods. It would be great to see Maan trying to understand why Geet is the way she is by understanding the environment she grew up in. And Geet would get a hint of Maan's point of view in the way he executed things by knowing more about his experiences.

4) Geet reporting/finishing/doing something good (for once in her career) - a presentation or a report or a proposal (NOT PARTY!)

I truly honestly wish to see this. I want her to do something good for her company which gives her not a fantastic one but a small scale recognition. And that does not include arranging a party.

5) Maan-Geet's business conversation. A gradual process where at one point Maan might ask something like: "Geet, do you think we should expand our portfolio to add this and this too?"

The growth of the characters should eventually lead to this. I want to see Geet as an equal to Maan than always being the one who is dependent. I am not caring much about the emotional aspect of need and dependency but in an overall perspective, I truly wish to see her as his equal.

6) Geet-Daadi's interaction not involving Maan, but a genuine talk between two generations.

A conversation which does not have anything to do with Maan. Daadi talks to Geet as another woman who has seen life, people and flip side of both. A talk between the two which gives Geet a broader perspective of the things she is facing and things she might face and realizes importance of friends, family and well wishers and would wonder in which category would Maan fit in.

7) Geet tells Maan about her past, Dev etc because he WANTS to know.

No angst driven outburst, no grand emotional declarations, no heated words exchange and nothing overly dramatic situations. Just two people talk in midst of chaos. Because he wants to know. Because he deserves to know.

Wow, that's quite a list you have got. Love them.

My favourite is Maan encouraging Geet to complete her education.

As to the last one about Geet's coming clean with her past, I am sort of partial to a dramatic outburst when Maan keeps goading Geet as to why she cannot accept his love when he can clearly see she too reciprocates his feelings. I have sort of dreamed up that scene.

I second your thoughts... Yes maan must ask geet bout her past like he did on the hum-tum day, n geet telling it to him...

Now that would be delving into reality
that will boost our vitality

a mundane scene seen with new eyes
of magic woven out of everyday lives

A conversation, a banter heard of yore
still spoken as if it was a folk lore

reality and fantasy combined
that is beautifully designed

to make our hearts flutter
and our words stutter

Thank you Opti. I am glad your favorite and mine match. It is something I always look for in shows which involves college but sadly no one really explores that area.
Well, I am all for dramatics as far as it fits the two characters. Hey, you should write that! I would love to read your take on it. Seeing your writing till now, I mostly agree with your point of view (most of the times, yeah) so I have a feeling that am going to like your take on the scene. Give it a shot?

I had that scene in mind when I was preparing my list of wishful thinking. Of course that scene took a drastically differnt route but I wish the serenity of the scene had continued for few more minutes and they actually talk and not have cute fights for more than ten minutes...

You are quite the bard, are you not? (Okay,I don't know why but my mind was suddenly filled with verses from Odyssey by Homer, when I read this post...)
