Dear All
I'm sorry to make this topic, and I'm sure I'll get flamed for this-- but after posting this, I don't think I'll be visiting the forum as much, so feel free to speak your minds.
I think we all need to remember that this show belongs to everyone-- to those of us who like it as it is, those of us who don't, the ones who like the pregnancy, the ones who don't, the ones who post on FB and the ones who don't.
I don't think any person or group of people should feel that their opinions are more important that everyone elses, or that the CVs should listen only to them.
It may be that the CVs pay attention to us, but I'm hopeful that they pay attention to all of us, equally-- we're all equal viewers, and all opinions are equally valid, whether we agree or disagree.
There currently seems to be a good deal of clique-formation on this forum, which is sad-- but of course this is a tendancy when any group of people get together, whether in real life or in the virtual world.
Some of the comments on the forum about who said what to whom and when sounds very much like playground taunts-- the whole "did you see what she said-- well I showed her, and look, teacher is supporting me".
Everyone has a right to criticise, condem, write on FB, get a response from Geet, talk to GC, have silly opinions, have ridiculous thoughts-- I think its important that we remember that this is in the end JUST A TV show-- the pregnancy is NOT real, there is no real baby that some of us don't want born-- its jsut a well acted show, will good storylines, that we're all feeling possessive about because the CVs are involving us so much.
So, if some of us don't want spoilers, then don't look at the ones that are given; many of us DO want them and enjoy them. I think we're going to have to start tagging spoiler posts, so that people who want to remain spoiler free can, but this is the etiquette on many western TV forums (the most popular of which that I can think of is of course Television without Pity, where the critcism would make us all weep)-- I see no reason why we can't do it here.
Everyone, please-- be kind to each other and stay inclusive-- the show will remain stronger if all opinions are heard, because remember-- this show is mainly for the general Indian TV audience, which may not share our quite Westernised outlook-- it needs to stay inclusive enough that it is popular with everyone, not just the people on this forum.
If you've managed to get through to the end of this post, WELL DONE. I hope I haven't offended anyone, and I'm sorry if I have.
I'm going to keep watching the show, and I will post in this forum again if there's something that really triggers me, but sadly, this forum is beginning to make me feel very much as if, in the situation where I don't agree with the popular girls- I'll be flamed quite badly. I don't plan to stay somewhere where the atmosphere reminds me of my childhood at a girls-only school.
Good luck and best wishes to all
(Just to clarify, I've never been flamed by anyone so far, in fact everyone has been lovely to me-- its just a general feeling in the forum-- not a personal thing)
