Part 8: Last day away!

The next morning, geet looked forward to working at the venue. Something about the previous day had got about some unknown enthusiasm in her. Was it her boss or his sweetness, she could not decide. She smiles to herself and takes a sip of her morning coffee. She finally thought- it was his sweetness that had made this morning so beautiful. She took her bag and started to leave, when adi calls her and tells her that he would not be able to make it to the venue as he has work in the office. geet was okay with it. She appreciated his help all these days and assured him to take things forward from here.

She reached the venue early that day. She had just this day left to finish everything. The hall had orchids at a few places here and there but she made sure they did not dominate the decorations. She looked over the decorations at the podium, the overall hall decorations and also confirmed the food order. She strictly instructed the caterers not to change the order until and unless she personally confirms it. She also checked the time of the launch party with pinky and adi. She decided to make no mistake this time, absolutely none. She was not going to subject maan to further embarrassment or humiliation.

The hall was all set by evening. She decided to lock the hall up after mr.chopra looked at it and gave a final approval. Mr. chopra seemed to have been pleasantly surprised at the way the interiors were done. He left the hall all happy with the way things were shaping out. Geet was about to walk out of the hall when she remembered she should speak to maan once. She goes to call him. She feels a strange tingling in her stomach. She ignores it and dials his number.

Maan had been in office all day working with Dev and Sasha. Life had not easy working with these two people he thought. He was tired after all the brain-storming he had been doing since morning. The previous night had not treated him well too. He could barely sleep for 2 hours. And geet's call gave as a relief to him. "Perfect timing!" he thought. He told them that he was leaving home and asked them to finish the rest of it. He waited till he got to the car to take the call. He told the driver that he would drive the car himself and asks him to drive dev's car home. The driver never seemed to understand his boss so simply nodded in acceptance.

Maan got into the car and then took her call. "bolo" he said very lovingly. "Sir, are you free?yahi poochna tha."

"kyun? Tumse milne aau kya?" he asked sarcastically. Geet was surprised at his question. "nahi sir, who venue pe saare decorations khatam ho gaye. Agar aap ek baar dekh le tuo acha hoga."

No arguments, no confusions maan simply accepted. "theek hai, 15 minutes, I'll be there", he said and disconnected the call.

Geet was just walking up and down when she heard the sound of a car drive into the parking area. She quickly collected all her things and walked towards the entrance. Maan walked inside ignoring her at the door and looked around the hall. "I'm impressed" he said finally facing geet. Geet blushed and maan could not miss it. He started to walk towards her but stopped mid-day. Geet notices maan's tired face and asks him, "sir aap theek tuo hai? Lagta hai raat bar kaam kiya hai aapne." Maan gets angry at her statement. He thinks to himself, "raat bhar tuo sone nahi deti aur ab aise pooch rahi hai jaise kuch pata hi na ho". Geet flashes her hands before his eyes and asks him, "sir aap kya aankhein khol kar so rahe hai? Kuch tuo boliye."

Maan pulls her holding her shoulders, "geet mujhse koi sawal mat karo. Tumhari wajah se main raat bar nahi so paya. Tum mujhe bahut dis…" and goes blank after that. He realizes what he was talking. Seriously, this girl makes him elicit his feeling without any effort and he hated it. Geet is wondering how she was responsible for his sleeplessness and questions him the same. He cleverly manipulates it and says, "tumhare is project pe raat bhar kaam karte karte main thag gaya hoon! Let's leave." "sir, who project ab mera nahi raha." Says geet with utmost sarcasm. "geet, chalo. Mujhse argue karke mera time waste mat karo."

"sir, aap kya mujhe uta ke car mein bitayaenge? Jab tak aap mujhe nahi chodenge, tab tak na aap hil payenge na main." And signals to his hands that were on her shoulder. "waqt aane par, who bhi karunga geet. Yaad rakhna." And leaves her shoulders. "kya…"she retorts back. "tumhe uta ke le jaunga."

Precap: maan in his outhouse. It's late night and he is in his study working on his laptop. Geet comes and pushes his chair back and sits on his lap. She places her hands around his neck and kisses him on his cheeks.

Is it time for maan to confess his feeling to himself????
