🤗welcum to the forum hope u'll have a blissful stay.Thank you. I am currently floating upon this soulful breeze.
It's gud to see a die hard fan of mr.darcy.😳Ah! he ruined all men for me. THat is why i am still single. Quite blissfully so.
But d'nt knw never feel maan goes to any category(ma view point)😊Feel he's like the branch of papaya tree which dies ones the fruit is riped.I loved this. I too believe in independent dependence. That when we attach ourselves to another, we shouldn't lost ourselves but move on to become 'hum'. I really do not care for 'assimilated' couples where one absorbs the other.

Sorry, sometimes I should just stop in silence. I would most honoured if you would regard me as your friend. however I would still strongly urge you to 'beware' of me and my fanciful thoughts. Maybe a disclaimer would be advisable.

So where is Maan today? I 'fear' that he is still balancing upon that edge. A type of balance that deserves respect and not the type that invites an urge to push him off one edge.

@brainychild92

I have unfortunately not gained the virtue of conciseness. I am very impressed by your level of achievement in this aspect.

I wish you all the best. Love Sabah

@Harpreet.M

You really do flatter me above my rank. I am quite mediocre.

I truly do hope that you were only being kind, for I would hate to think that you have never read the 'beauty' of words. If so, let me tell you that there are treasures waiting for you in dusty libraries and even in the pith of this webspace, also known as IF.

The one million rupee question? Where is Maan to be placed?

Love Sabah

@Liz.

My dear Liz,

To be in love with an 'actor' is foolishness. To be in love with a figment of your imagination is possibly insanity. However to be in love with the figment of another person's imagination, that is a level of psychosis that has yet to be documented.😳 I am quite a lost case.

My mother curses Austen for ruining men for me into my singledom and possibly spinsterhood!

Love Sabah

hey there sabha...
i fear i will be repeating everyone's words here but let me also pay homage to your apt description of the show...

I fear to displease but I feel I must share my thoughts in hopes you would not be offended....

here goes.......
not a big mr darcy fan .....

kidding kidding 😆 darcy is every woman's dream and since miss austen all romance writers (be they tv, movies or authors) have been trying to create the ultimate hero in vain....although to be fair some have made some agreeable replicas of the wonderful mr darcy...and notable other developments in characters

sorry for getting off topic but my thoughts differ in the initial topic of your post....placement of maan...

I have never felt personally comfortable to compartmentalise people as everyone has at least a sliver of all personalities ....eg mr darcy although he was angry young man he also believed himself to be above women as they express baser emotions...also maybe cause he was from an era where women were not given a lot of importance and were only seen necessary in caring for the household and providing heirs...but he also had issues if i am not wrong he did not have a healthy relationship with his mom...or she has passed on before he was exposed to the gentle caring of women....also issues with emotions no matter how much we women sigh on the rough & though we do eventually need a good conversationalist..... one who will be able to communicate without worrying if it showed too much emotion which is what kept beth and him apart (beth had a high handed manner that I hate in women...anyway)

also mayank he had some issues regarding his ineptness in not being able to care for his mother and she took care of everything as he was unable to work thus he would cook, the only thing he could do and being a perfectionist (issue) he excelled in that as well...which nupur fixed my telling him they will work together not apart in their relationship....in all fairness samrat had more issues than mayank did but mayank expressed great indignation against (not women) the weak minded...and sill does...

now maan he has issues with women but it was one woman in particular that obviously has made him form his opinions about women.....and such harsh ones at that (I am not sure if you have been able to watch all the episodes so far but in one of his scenes he says women can only give pain, also in another women only know how to deceive...etc..etc ). Thus he held a very low opinion of women where his indignation shows as a man....superiority and all that bollocks...also he uses the angry young man facade most likely to mask the pain he had endured (in an epi dev says you hide your emotions well always have been able to but today all emotions are displayed on that very face)....pain caused maybe at the hands of a woman or the ones his family bestowed upon him....but we are able to see a crack when he is around geet and sometimes a thickening of the layer when he yells at her...also once when he gave the high commissions officer a bribe to get dev and the family into india he saw him waver at the weight of his responsibilities...... between doing the right thing and protecting his little bro...thus a person like that will not hold indignation at the weak ...he will in a stranger not in one close to his heart like his bro ...and now in geet 😊....so as to placement i think it would not be possible without knowing all aspects then maybe we could assign characteristics but compartmentalise? mabye not easily...

on a lighter note maybe we can add to the list..the Maan paradigm 😆

hope you are not offended by any of these comments ..i am not so good with words are you clearly are but hopefully i have been able to put my thoughts in words and more importantly got them across without stepping on any toes

love
divya

ps I know you will find a mr darcy out there someday austen could have completely fabricated him 😊...so maybe single but waiting for the best ....
also why settle 😉
Also wanted to say it warms my heart to read your comments as they are very similar to my thoughts
And lastly sorry for the lengthy post 😳

Hi Sabah

Your post disturbed me. not because it is not something that is i would accede with but for it. I have never classified any person in any category, never been judgmental or assumed their characteristics morevoer have taken the person on face value. However, your post has been succinct enough to not just make a valid argument for it but to draw people into it and totally agree with it.
I do agree and that's where the disturbance is. I always took these Indian serials lightly,as a bystander rather than as a participant. but yes maan has interesting facets to his personality. he is bittersweet. The mystery that shrouds him draws one into the vortex in spite of attempts at nonchalance.
Your post made me think of not just my involvement but ready for an outcome based on assumptions i had already developed.
i really dont know if i am ready to classify him in any category yet however your post do point out various facets that would entail one to put a label on him....
Is it justified? again..IMHO not my nature but yes a point there
Of course enlist me as a fellow Darcy fan not to mention Ms Austen's.
