sorry gals no maaneet in this part. But plz read this part coz I wanted to dedicate this part to NT's exit from my FF😆.
U can get insights in Geet's charcter in this part which is necessary to understand her.
and do leave comments...it keeps me DHAK DHAK GOING!
PART 2Days had passed and Geet had heard daily updates about the Khuranas funeral proceedings. NT and Dev had returned from Agra and she had told them about Pratham's last wishes.
"Geet....tu sapne dekhna band karde....Mr. Khurana toh gaye...aur unke saath unke armaan bhi chale gaye... Mujhe poora vishwaas hain ki Khuranas sab bhool jayenge.....Tu ab kaam pe dhyaan de..." NT had told her acidly.
NT had been initially shocked that Geet had actually met with the heir of the khurana empire and that Pratham Khurana had mistaken her to be Maan's lover. The stab of jealously had given excruciating pain.
She couldn't bear the idea that she would be Geet's driver's wife if Geet actually had the fortune to marry off to Maan Khurana. She had fumed and fretted unwantedly reminding Geet that their parents would never agree to the alliance. It was a great source of relief to her that neither had any of the Khuranas come looking for Geet nor was she summoned to the Khurana Mansion.
"Di main uske baare mein soch bhi nahin rahi hoon....Waise bhi mujhe interest nahin hain shaadi-waadi karne mein....." Geet protested.
She was well-aware that NT now resented her choice. Dev had been unusually silent these days and Geet knew the reason. NT now had second thoughts about their relationship.
From the time she had told NT and Dev about the events of the night of Pratham Khurana's demise she had sensed the regret in NT's behaviour. NT had always been opportunistic. Even at Abohar where she was considered a classic beauty she had meticulously chosen her lovers.
Geet and NT belonged to one of the richest families in Abohar. The Handas owned agricultural business which thrived amidst the toiling farmers. Geet and NT had never been short of anything in life. Geet had always been the law-abiding and yet fun loving type while NT had been the shrewd and attention-seeking type. NT had been the crushing sister who could never tolerate Geet's success be it at academics or her ever-expanding friends circle. People always wondered how they both could be sisters.
When NT had confided in Geet about her affair with Dev...Geet had been aghast. It was so unlike NT! She had questioned and cross-questioned NT about the seriousness of the affair. But NT had been positive that she wanted to settle down with Dev. Geet had been temporarily startled cause NT's longest fling had been for 1 year with Yug Trikha.
Geet had liked Yug but Yug had always been wagging his tail after NT. Geet had later on realized that Yug could never be the one for her and she had focused more on her studies and her talent with cars.
The night was indicated by the unfurled black velvet sheet studded with diamonds...that was diffused over the secretive firmament.
Geet was still waiting for a call from one of the companies which had contacted her the day before. They had told her they would let her know when and where she had to come for the interview.
NT sat there flipping the pages of Cineblitz magazine. Geet could easily see that NT was thinking about something else.
"Di kya hua? Aap pareshaan lag rahi ho..." she sat down next to NT on the couch.
"Kuch nahi ....woh main soch rahi thi ki tum theek hi kehti thi...Dev toh sirf ek driver hain....woh mere type ka nahi hain."
"Di....main dekh rahi hoon...jabse maine aapko us raat ke baare mein bataya aap kuch pareshaan hain..." Geet prodded knowingly.
"Aisa kuch nahin hain...aur Geet..main kitni baar tujhse kahoon ki us raat ko jo bhi hua tha woh bhool ja...Teri kismat itni bhi acchi nahin ho sakti hain ki tu Khurana Empire ki Raani bane.....Raani toh sirf Main ban sakti hoon..." there was a taunting gleam in her eye.
Geet had never felt the necessity to compete with her sister. She had accepted the fact long back that NT was beautiful and people often fell for her charms. But she had also been painfully aware of NT's other side which was always under wraps. She knew that NT could be dangerously selfish and self-obsessed. Her Pappaji...had warned her never to rub the wrong side of NT. NT had caused many calamities back in Abohar due to her selfishness.
Geet could never forget seeing Yug's bloodied body....He had committed suicide when he had discovered that NT had been cheating on him with the police officer of their locality-Inspector Charandas Bassi. He had slit his wrist and engraved NT's name on his hand.
The matter had been hushed and quietened owing to Geet's Daarji's influence. When Geet had requested the family that she wanted to go to Delhi for further studies they had forced NT to leave as well. Geet had been unhappy but her Pappaji had convinced her to take NT along as it would be trouble to the family honour and name if she stayed back.
"Haan Di...Raani toh sirf tum ban sakti ho....aur mujhe Raani ban ne mein koi dilchaspi nahin hain..."
NT smiled wickedly...." Geet tum bahut samajhdaar ho....Toh tumhe woh job milgaya?"
"Unhone kaha hain ki woh call karke bataenge ki interview kab aur kahaan hogi...Interview ke baad sab kuch finalized ho jayega...."
There was loud knock on the door.
"Main dekhti hoon, Di" Geet got up and proceeded to the door.
"NT ghar pe hain?" Dev stood there looking as if he had had sleepless nights. His hair was a mess and his clothes were all crumpled. He looked like hell!!!
"Haan Di ghar par hain...." Geet moved to a side giving him entry into the house.
"Dev...tum yahaan kya kar rahe ho? Maine tumse kaha na ki main tumse koi baat nahin karna chahti hoon aur hamare beech kuch baaki nahin raha..." NT jumped up from the couch shrilly screaming.
"Kyun???...kyunki tumhe darr lag raha hain ki agar tumhari shaadi mujhse ho gayi aur Maan ki shaadhi Geet se toh tum ek driver ki biwi reh jaoge aur tumhari behen ek Raani ban kar raaj karegi..." he scorned.
"Haan haan haan..." she covered the space between them and held his collar..." Main Raani ban na chahti hoon...aur mere hote hue Geet kabhi Raani nahi ban sakti hain.....aur tumhe kya laga...ki main ek driver se shaadi karoongi...Meri kya mati margayi hain?" she laughed diabolically.
Geet watched the scene transpiring before her in utter shock. She couldn't believe that her sister who had spurned her advice and clung onto Dev for her dear life these past months was behaving like an ungrateful wretch. She pitied Dev. He was obviously very much smitten by Geet's devious sister.
"NT...Baby....I love you..." Dev attempted tracing his finger on her cheek. She halted his action and pushed him far.
"Love.....Dev...tum mujhse pyaar karte ho yeh tumhara problem hain Mera nahin..." she mocked.
"Di aap yeh kaise kar sakti ho.." Geet tried intervening.
"Geet...tu chup ho ja. Dekh mera fuse ud gaya hain aur main kuch bhi kar sakti hoon. Tu mere bheje ko aur garam mat kar....isi mein teri bhalayi hain!"
Geet looked at Dev's tear stained face....she had never approved of NT and Dev's relationship cause she knew a day would come when NT would move on for higher things and again Geet would witness another heartbreak caused by her sister. Geet could feel unfathomable hatred coursing through her...
"Di...aap mein insaaniyat naam ki koi cheez nahi hain..." she told through gritted teeth.
NT sneered..."Hone ya na hone mei koi farak nahi hain...Geet....Tujhe kya lagta hain...tu mujhse behtar hain?? Tu sirf gaadi chala sakti hain...aur mujhe lagta hain ki is driver ke liye tu perfect fit hain!!! Tum dono ki jodi khoob jamegi"
Geet had had enough. Dev's face was contorted with fury..."NT....Tum pachtoage....ek din tum zaroor pachtaoge...." he swore menacingly and banged the door after his exit.
The two sisters faced each other...
"Tujhe bhi jaana hain toh tu jaa sakti hain..." NT coolly pointed towards the door.
"Di....Jaana mujhe nahin aapko padega.." Geet muttered in a threateningly low voice.
"Kya kaha tune?" NT demanded.
"Goodnight Di"
The next morning NT got up with in a rage. The doorbell had been ringing for the past fifteen minutes. She cursed Geet for not attending the door bell and went to attend it herself.
Her eyes were still puffed up and she was dressed in her night gown.
She lazily yawned and opened the door...and her heart froze. At the doorstep stood Brij....their honour-demented elder brother. If NT feared anyone on the planet it was Brij. He was the reason she had gladly left Abohar without any melodrama. She had been mortally afraid what he would do to her after knowing that Yug's suicide had been cause of her. It was that time her Pappaji suggested that she too go with Geet to Delhi. NT didn't like the idea of leaving Abohar but one look at Brij's face had determined her to go away as soon as she could to Delhi with Geet.
"Brij...jee" she swallowed.
"Kapde change karke saamaan bandhle...tu mere saath agle train se Abohar wapas chal rahi hain..." he ordered her.
"Magar kyun??? Main yahin pe khush hoon....aur phir agar main chali gayi toh Geet kaise rahegi akele yahaan?" she tried reasoning.
"Geet mein tujhse zyaada akal hain kudiye....tu samaan bandhti hain ya aise hi chalna pasand karegi...?" his infuriation was visible.
NT hurried into her room and began throwing her things together. After half an hour of speed packing she proceeded to the drawing room where Brij was seated. By his side sat Geet smiling and narrating something to her elder brother. Geet had always shared an extremely cautious relationship with Brij. She never did anything that would upset the Handas unlike NT. Brij who was well-known to be a fanatical misogynist (woman-hater) had a soft corner for Geet. NT one the other hand had always been in Brij's hitlist.....her deeds and actions had credited her the place.
"Toh mann lagake kaam karna Geet...Tum hamare ghar ki shaan ho...Hamare ghar ki auraaton ki pehchaan ho...." Brij was gruffly advising Geet.
"Haan haan...yeh toh Shaan hain....aur main Badnaam!" NT squealed in mock anguish.
"Oye Nautanki band kar apni...aur chal yahaan se...Geet tum apna khayaal rakhna....Aur agar koi bhi problem ho toh ghar phone kar dena..." Brij stood up.
It then struck NT that Geet had made a call back home complaining about her and that is why she was being unceremoniously dragged back to Abohar. She threw a look of deepest loathing to Geet......to which Geet answered with a cheeky smile.
"I will miss you Di...and so will Dev...." Geet whispered to NT as she passed Geet.
Geet closed the door after they went and was about to proceed back to her bed when the doorbell rang again. She had been up late through the night telling her pappaji about NT's latest development. She never hid anything from her father. She even told him about the Khurana's episode. Her father had told her that if she had promised a dying man she should respect it. He had advised her that if the Khuranas would consider the man's dying wishes and approach her she should not back off. He also promised to explain the event to the family.
Geet had been mildly surprised when Brij had mentioned to her that she should try her best to respect the promise she had given to Pratham Khurana. He had told her that she must not go searching and poking the Khuranas orelse she would sound desperate....and only if they were interested in her and came looking for her she should respond with necessary warmth. He had assured her that the family would stand by her.
Geet heard the doorbell go again...she wondered if NT had left anything behind and was back again....She opened the door.....
And gasped...."MAAN KHURANA" was the last person she had been expecting to see at her doorstep.Forgive spelling mistakes haven't proof read it😆
