Guys this is going to be the last one, from now on I'll be posting separate scenes because I have soooo many in my head 😆 Unless you guys want me to carry on, other than that I'm not willing to carry this on!
Continuation of Confrontation & Revelation : Geet - Dev - Maan on Pg 23.
Maan and Geet stared at each other thinking about what was happening? Everything had happened so fast that no one had any idea about what the results of this were going to be. Geet was deeply touched by the fact that Maan who has always scolded her, who had always seemed to hate her, was the one person in her life that stood by her. Her respect for Maan grew a hundred times more. But she knew what she had to do.
Geet: Maanji, mujhe...aap say akele mein..2 minute baat karni hai.
Maan & Dadima both were surprised, Maan especially since Geet had never called him Maanji before. After wondering what Geet wanted to talk about, Maan nodded & walked towards the study. Geet too slowly followed him. Dadi watched both of them go, she sat down on the sofa and started to think.
As soon as Maan & Geet were in the study, Geet closed the door. Maan who was near the desk was observing Geet. Geet just stood there for 2 seconds before turning around and looking at Maan. Maan too just stared back at her. For a couple of seconds both were completely lost in each other eyes. Both felt that no matter how much they say to each other, their eyes would speak a 1000 words. They were both confused by this bond between them, it made them always wonder why they felt close to each other. Breaking the eye contact Geet moved towards a chair but didn't sit down.
Geet: Abhi jo kuch bhi hua...mein....
Maan: Geet abhi jo kuch bhi hua uss mein tumhari koi galti nahi, woh to mera chota bhai hai jis nay itni bari galti ke. Dev.
Maan spat out the word Dev like acid and this didn't go unnoticed by Geet.
Geet: Lekin aap nay jo Naintara say kaha....
Geet felt shy, it wasn't something she had expected from Maan.
Geet: Mein aap ko aisa karnay nahi dee sakti. Aap pehle he meray liye itna kho chukay hain, aap nay meray liye apnay bhai ko ghar say nikal diya. Mein nahi chahti kay mein aap kay upar bhooj bano. Aaj kay zamanay mein apnoo ka saath koi nahi chorta, beshak kuch bhi ho, lekin aap nay meray liye kisi apnay ka saath chor diya.
This stunned both Geet and Maan. Maan hadn't really thought about it like this, there was a lot of truth in Geet's words he thought, she's right I did kick my brother out for Geet why? Why did I feel this sting when I found out what happened to Geet? Why had I said to Naintara that Geet would be my wife? Geet on the other hand was also questioning herself and Maan, she was surprised because she hadn't realized it up until now about how much Maan had given up for her! Why was he doing this? She thought. So much and that for me?? But the bigger question Geet asked herself was why do I feel so close to him, why does he feel like the only person who I can trust? Why does I feel so protected when he's around? Coming out of their thoughts, Geet continued.
Geet: Aap ko meray liye itna karnay ke zaroorat nahi. Mein chahti hoon kay mein apnay peroon par khari hoon. Aur.... mein nahi chati kay mujh say shaadi...kar kay aap ke life kharab ho jaye.
Maan could see that Geet was blushing saying all this, he felt a little happy inside, he loved seeing her blush.
Geet: Aap nay aaj tak meri bahut help ki hai, aur iss ke liye mein zindagi bhar tak aap ka ahsaan nahi chuka sakti, lekin mein aap ko meray liye aur pareshaniyan bhi nahi uthanay dee sakti! Mein aap say shaadi nahi karunge. Kyunkay ye aap ke majboori hai aur mujhe kisi ke majboori nahi bana.
Maan was partly surprised by Geet. He hadn't expected this from Geet. He couldn't believe that Geet cared enough to not let him marry her. His respect for her rose because she had decided to face all the hurdles by herself. She showed how selfless she was, she wanted to be independant and face the hardships of life! However there was a tinge of sadness deep within Maan's heart. He wanted to help Geet, it morally felt right to not let her be on her own. How would she survive this big world? He decided to speak.
Maan: Lekin Geet tum ye akele kaisay karo gee? Iss bachay ko kis ka naam do gee? Duniye wala kya kahen gay? Main tumhein aisay beech sarak mein nahi chor sakta, mein tumharay saath har lamha rahoon ga!
Geet was again touched by Maan's caring nature, she wanted to hug him but stopped herself.
Maan: Nahi Maanji, aap he nay mujhe sikaya hai kay har problem ko face karo, uss say mat bhago. Mein apnay bachay kay liye kuch bhi sehnay kay liye tayaar hoon. Aur rehi baat duniya waloon ke toh mein un say bhi larnay ke liye tayaar hoon. Jab meray apnoon nay mera saath nahi diya toh meinay duniya waloon say bhi umeed rakna chor dee hai. Iss bachay ko mein apna naam doon ge, iss ke maa aur baap dono mein hoon. Maanji, mein ye bilkul bhi nahi chahoon gee kay meri wajah say aap ko koi takleef ho, please meri baat maan leejiay.
Maan after some consideration decided to tell Geet his decision.
Maan: Theek hai, agar tumhein lagta hai kay tum mujh say shaadi nahi kar sakti toh theek hai. Lekin meri bhi aik shart hai.
Geet: Woh kya?
Maan: Mein tumharay saath uss har pal rahoon ga jab tumhein madat ke zaroorat ho gee. Aur tumhin mujh say waada karna ho ga kay jab bhi tum kisi mushkil mein ho gee, tumhein mujhay bulana ho ga.
Geet agreed as she had no choice left. Maan was stubborn and he was being really presistant. As Geet started walking towards the door, Maan said something else which stunned her.
Maan: Aik aur baat, tumhein iss bachay ko mera naam dena ho ga, Khurana parivaar ka naam.
Geet turned around, she looked at Maan and tears started rolling down her cheeks, she couldn't believe what she was hearing. Even after everything Maan was willing to risk his reputation by giving his name to her child. This gave Geet the deepest pleasure, she not only felt respect but gratitude towards Maan. She had never expected him to be an angel in her life.
Maan seeing tears in Geet's eyes was shocked. He thought something was wrong. Slowly he advanced towards Geet. Seeing tears in her eyes stung him like a thousand pieces of ice. He stood close to Geet and looked deep into her eyes. Both gazed at each other appreciatively. Gently Maan wiped Geet's tears with his thumb. Touching Geet made him feel warm, this felt just right he thought, to be there to wipe Geet's sorrows away.
At Maan's touch Geet felt a flutter inside, this was something she had always felt whenever Maan had touched her, it felt new but old at the same thing. An unexplainable feeling. Geet again wanted to embrace Maan. She needed someone at this moment but didn't feel Maan would appreciate it. Maan too wanted to embrace Geet but didn't know how Geet would feel. Breaking out of their trance, both stood there quietly before Maan spoke.
Maan: Geet hum...woh...Dadi ko ja kar ye faisala sunana hai.
Both walked side by side out into the hall where Dadi was sitting.
Dadi as she saw Maneet coming side by side felt happy. What a perfect couple she thought. All the while Maneet were talking Dadi had time to think. She knew what Dev did was wrong but how could Maan marry Geet? But then she changed her mind. She remembered all her interactions with Geet in the office, the way Geet presented herself, there was something about Geet that Dadi always liked. She knew that Geet had to be given justice and there was only one way in which this could be done. Maan came up to Dadi and told her Geet's decision. Dadi hearing what Geet wanted was a little upset. She was not happy with what was said so she expressed her final decision.
Dadi: Maan aap aur Geet nay toh hamari decision sunay baghair he faisala kar liya. Ye nahi ho sakta. Hum aap kay pehle walay faislay say sehmat thay. Aap ko Geet say Shaadi karne he ho gee.
Both Maneet felt a little embarassed but also felt that they were back to square one. It felt awkard. They looked at each other with helplessness and didn't know what to do. Dadi seeing the awkardness between the two understood that her decision may not be as right as she thought. After a moment or two she spoke again.
Dadi: Theek hai. Aap dono ka mau dekh kar humein aisa lagta hai, kay ye decision bohat bara hai. Agar aap dono ko lagta hai kay ye faisala galat hai toh bilkul theek hai. Lekin head of the house honay kay natay hum apnay decision par abhi bhi atal hain. Hum chatein hai kay aap dono ke shaadi ho, lekin agar aap dono manay toh. Geet hum aap ko force nahi karein gay, aap ko iss kay baray mein puri tarah sooch samhej kar decide karna ho ga. Aur humein ye abhi nahi, puray aik mahinay baad chahiye. Aur tab tak hum chatay hain kar aap har roz hamaray ghar aayen, hum aap ko hamari nazroon kay samnay dekhna chatay hain. Aap ko koi takleef nahi ho gee kyunkay Maan har roz aap ko apnay saath office say lay aayen gay aur aap ko aap kay ghar bhi drop karengay. Lekin mujhe aap dono ka faisala chahiye, aik mahinay baad.
Geet thought that even after a month she could say no and Maan agreed knowing fully well what Geet wanted. But Dadi was smiling inside, this was the only way she could think of to get them both to agree. It wasn't that Maan would be making Dev's mistake right, No! It was that he would find the best life partner. Dadi knew how stubborn Maan was when it came to women, he respected them but that did not mean he had ever liked any. So far Dadi had only seen Geet make a place in Maan heart, one thing that no other girl had been able to achieve. In one month Dadi was going to create so many situtations that would prompt Maneet to come closer and eventually agree to marry. With that Dadi told Maan to drop Geet off at her house as today's events were upsetting and Geet must be tired.

Maan & Geet both walked to Maan's car. Maan opened the door for her and waited for her to sit down so he could close the door. As Maan was going to close the car door for Geet, he noticed that her dupatta was hanging out, he wanted to say something to Geet but thought better of it, Geet didn't need more trouble in her life. He bent down on one knee and picked it up for Geet. Geet also looked down to see Maan with the dupatta in his hand. As Geet reached out to get the dupatta, both their hands touched. *Maneet music plays* The flutter was back, Geet felt a thousand butterflies loosen in stomach, the electricity between the two raged on. Maan felt warm again. Both were captivated by each others eyes, something was binding them together, not letting them break their gaze. A servant came running up to Maan, which startled both him and Geet, they both broke the eye contact and looked flustered because of the intruder. Both quickly pulled their hands back too. Maan quickly got up and closed the door. The servant told him that Dadima wanted him to not return to office as she had something to discuss about Dev.
After the servant left, Maan proceeded towards the driving seat, and sat down. He started the car up and in a flash the car was gone.
