Part 8: Confession

The part opens with Ranbir talking to himself and deciding to confess to Kanya about his feelings for her.

Ranbir (Onto the phone)- Hello? This is Ranbir Nanda speaking. Is this?

Pooja (from the other end)- Hello sir!!! This is Pooja here.

Ranbir- Pooja????

Pooja- Yes whom did you want to speak to? Mama ya papa?

Ranbir- Aah. Well please describe the heroine for the next show. I think I have found her!

Pooja- Really? Well she is super sweet. She is cute, loving and intelligent. She hates show-off's and know it alls. Who is the actress?

Ranbir- Kanya.

Pooja- Kanya as in my sister Kanya?

Ranbir- Yes.

Pooja- Sorry sir but she wont agree to work in a show. I know that.

Ranbir- Give the phone to her I'll convince her.

Pooja- Okay sir. (to Kanya) Yeh le Kanya. Sir wants to ask you to be his next heroine.

Kanya- Me? (Onto the phone) Hello Ranbir? Kanya here.

Ranbir- Pooja must have told you. I want you to be my next heroine.

Kanya- Sorry Ranbir but I cant.

Ranbir- Why?

Kanya- I'm not interested in media.

Ranbir- Please Kanya. Just come to Ashoka Palace right away. No buts. Bye.

Kanya- Arre! Ohno. Phone kaat diya. I guess I will have to go.

Pooja- Kahaan?

Kanya- Ashoka Palace. He wants me to go there.

Pooja- Toh phir jaa yaar.

Kanya- But I'm not interested in acting di.

Pooja- Go and tell him. GO.

Kanya- Okay.

Kanya goes in and wears a blue shalwar. She ties up her hair in a loose pony and puts kaajal. Then she catches and auto and goes to Ashoka Palace.

Scene shifts to the Nanda Mansion

Ranbir is deciding what to wear.

Ranbir- What should I wear now? How do I impress Kanya?

Aditya comes into the room.

Aditya- What are you doing? Dont you have to meet Kanya?

Ranbir- Yes bhaiyya. I'm deciding what to wear tonight.

Aditya- Wear this red shirt. Red is the colour of romance.

Ranbir- No. I'll wear this blue shirt I think. God knows why but I have a feeling that Kanya also is wearing blue.

Aditya- Oh matching-matching kya?

Ranbir- Yes. Absolutely!!!

Aditya- Go quickly change. She wont like it if you are late!

Ranbir- Right!

Then he goes in and changes his clothes. The blue he has taken is the same shade of blue Kanya is also wearing. After he dresses up he takes his car and goes to Ashoka Palace.

Scene shifts to Ashoka Palace

When Kanya arrives at Ashoka Palace everything is dark and there is no light anywhere. She is shocked. Just then from a corner the song Bakhuda Tumhi ho plays softly. Kanya starts walking towards the origination of the song. Suddenly-----All lights come on. Actually it is all candles. There are candles everywhere. Near each candle is a beautiful photo of Kanya. Kanya has a surprised and looks aside and she sees Ranbir. He comes towards her.

Kanya- What is all this Ranbir? Are you trying to blackmailing me into acting in your show?

Ranbir (smiles sheepishly at her)- No.

Kanya- Then? I demand an answer.

Ranbir- Definitely. You'll definitely get an answer.

Kanya- Please.....Ranbir??

Ranbir (on his knees)- From the past few days wherever I look I only find one person. She is everywhere. In my dreams, in my room, in my car in my life and so on. She is the person for my changing. I truly believe that she is the one for me and I'm the one for her. I love her. And that person is you Kanya. I love you. I cant bear to live without you. Will you please marry me Kanya?

Kanya- What? Are you mad? No...no...I cant marry you. (Has tears in her eyes)

Ranbir- What?? But why?

Kanya- I just cant that's all.

Ranbir- Dont you love me?

Kanya (starts crying)- No I dont love you. I dont love you.

Ranbir- I know you do. You are doing this because you know it will hurt Pooja.

Kanya- No Ranbir. That's not why. I.....I love someone else.

Ranbir- Who is that lucky guy?

Kanya- Ayaan. Your nephew Ayaan.

Ranbir- Kya???? You are in love with Ayaan? C'mon he doesnt even know you.

Kanya- Yes he does. Dont you remember Amri di's wedding? I was always with Ayaan. We are madly in love. In fact we have decided that we will announce it to our families tonight. In fact now. Bye Ranbir I have to go. Sorry.

Ranbir- Kanya ruko toh sahi. I LOVE YOU. NO ONE CAN LOVE YOU MORE THAN ME. NOT EVEN AYAAN. DO YOU GET THAT?

Kanya- Bye. Sorry.

Saying this she runs away from there. Seeing her run her words keep ringing in his ears and he falls upon his knees and the song Yaa Rabba from Salaam-e-Ishq starts playing in the background. Kanya catches an auto and calls up Ayaan. Ayaan is her best friend.

Kanya (onto the phone)- Hello Ayaan? Kanya bol rahi hoon. Urgent kaam hein. Will you help?

Ayaan- Bolo Kanya what's the problem?

Kanya- Actually your uncle Ranbir just called me to Ashoka Palace and told that he is in love with me.....

Ayaan- But I thought he wanted to marry your sister?

Kanya- That was supposed to be a contract marriage. Listen to me. I told him that I cant marry him coz I love you?

Ayaan- What????

Kanya- That's a lie Buddhu. I dont want di to feel hurt. She loves your uncle a lot. So I also told him that we would be announcing this to our families tonight.

Ayaan- Sure I'll play along. I will announce this once chachu comes home.

Kanya- And listen. Will you really marry me?

Ayaan- Okay. But there is no ishq rite?

Kanya- No. Im really sorry Ayaan. I know I'll be ruining your life but I want my sister to be happy.

Ayaan- Anytime buddy!! It's okay. And who knows we might hopefully end up falling in love!!

Kanya- Hopefully. Okay rakhti hoon. Ghar pahunch gaya. Bye. Thank you so much.

Ayaan- Anytime. Bye.

Both of them keep the phones. Kanya wipes her tears and rushes inside.

Kanya- Hello everybody!!! I want to announce to you a very important thing. Pooja di and Harpal bhaiyya please come here all of you. Mama papa please come.

Pooja- Kya baath hain?

Harpal- Wassup lil sis? I was dreaming about Aarushi Nanda.

Pammi- Kya baath hain beta?

Anand- What do you want to tell?

Kanya- Actually mein batana chahti hoon ki actually I'm in love!

Pooja- What????

Kanya- Yes. I'm in love with Ayaan.

Harpal- You mean that best pal of yours?

Kanya- Yes bhaiyya. He was my best friend. No we are lovers. We want to marry each other. I really don't know how and when all this happened but yes it happened.

Anand- Beta that's nice. Now we don't have to find a guy for you. You have found him yourself!!!

Pammi- Haan beta. You get married on the day Pooja is getting married.

Kanya- Nahin mama. We want to marry before Pooja di's marriage itself.

Anand- Woh kyun?

Kanya- Sorry papa. But I have no answer. Please get me married before Pooja di's wedding. I beg of you.

Anand- Okay.

Kanya- Ayaan ke gharwale yahaan kal aayenge.

Pammi- Okay then beta. Now everybody go and rest. I'll inform Vipul and Amri too.

Kanya- Right. Goodnight guys.

Saying this Kanya goes to sleep. The rest of the Godbole household also goes to sleep.

Scene shifts to the Nanda Mansion.

Seeing Ranbir enter the house Ayaan decided to break the news to everybody.

Ayaan- Chachu I was waiting for you only. Come fast. I have a news for you all.

Ranbir- What is it?

Ayaan- I'm in love.

Reva (Ayaan's mom)- What? Who is the lucky girl darling?

Ayaan- Kanya. Kanya Godbole.

Reva- But isn't she your best friend?

Ayaan- Yes. Now we are in love. I promised her that we will all go and meet her family tomorrow.

Aditya- Kya? Lekin Ayaan...

Ranbir- Oh that's nice!!!

Ayaan- Yes it is. Now wont all of you come with me?

Mallika- I will beta.

Big D- Me too!

Reva- Count me in!!!

Aditya- I think I'll also come.

Ayaan- Chachu?

Ranbir- No. I wont come.

Ayaan- But why?

Mallika- Yeh kya beta?

Ranbir- Mama please.

Mallika- Atleast think about the fact that Ayaan is talking about Pooja's sister. Pooja is your fiance. How will she feel when she wont see you there?

Ranbir- I don't care damnit.

Reva- C'mon Ranbir. Tum please aao.

Ayaan- Yes chachu- You have to come.

Ranbir- I wont come.

Mallika- You are coming and that's final.

Ranbir- Mom! But.

Ayaan- No buts chachu. You will come.

Saying so everyone except Ranbir and Aditya leave the room.

Aditya- Yeh kya yaar?

Ranbir- Yes Kanya told me that she loves Ayaan.

Aditya- Oh.

Ranbir- What do I do bhaiyya?

Aditya- We will think of an idea.

Ranbir- No. That isn't right. It is not only Kanya but also Ayaan my favourite nephew. His happiness is worth so much to me.

Aditya- But what about you bhai?

Ranbir- You know that old saying? "When you love something/someone let it go. If it really belongs to you it will come back to you."

Aditya- Whatever you say. Now go to sleep. Goodnight.

Ranbir- Goodnight.

Ranbir and Aditya go to sleep.

The next day at the Godbole house

Kanya is getting ready. She wears a beautiful maroon lehnga. Her hair is tied up in a tight ponytail. She hears the sound of a horn and runs to the porch. Ayaan gets of the car and she fakes a blush and runs inside.

Reva- How sweet!!!

Ayaan- Kanya come back.

Pooja- What are you doing there? Please come here and sit na?

All of them including Ranbir sit inside. Kanya comes out with a tray of juice in her hand.

Reva- I'm so fortunate to have you as my bahu!!

Kanya- Thank you aunty. Here have juice.

Reva- Thanks.

She hands over juice to everybody and when she comes to Ranbir their eyes lock.

Kanya- Please take the juice.

Ranbir- Sure.

While taking the juice from her hand he touches her hand.

Ranbir (whispering)- I love you and...

Kanya- Ayaan please have this drink na?

Ayaan- Sure.

Then she gives juice to all her family members and goes inside. She then goes and sits beside Ayaan.

Kanya- Well then?

Mallika- Baath pakki hain. Tum dono ki sagai agle hafte hogi.

Kanya- Thank you.

Reva- Now you both go inside and talk.

Ayaan- Sure. (Pulling Kanya's hand) Come Kanya.

Kanya- Coming.

They go inside.

Kanya- Thank you Ayaan. Thanx a ton!!

Ayaan- Anytime buddy.

Just then in the hall.

Ranbir- Pammi aunty I just want to use the lavatory.

Pammi- Sure beta. Go ahead.

Ranbir- Thank you.

Ranbir goes into the room where Kanya and Ayaan are. Ayaan sees Ranbir from the corner of his eye.

Ayaan- Ohno chachu.

Kanya- Kya? Okay please koi lovey-dovey natak karo please.

Ayaan- Kanya main nahin jaanta ki....I'm so glad that all this is possible. I love you.

Kanya- I love you too Ayaan.

He leans forward and presses his lips onto hers. They kiss and break away and hug. Ayaan kisses her forehead.

Ayaan (like he has just noticed Ranbir)- Ohno chachu.

Kanya- Kya?

Ranbir- Continue. Sorry for disturbing. (goes)

Ayaan- Funda thoda zyaada tha kya?

Kanya- Yes. Kiss kyun kiya? Bas dialogues maarna tha. You are quite a natural. You should consider acting.

Ayaan- No one gives me a break naa...

Kanya- Whatever. Chalo.

Reva- Bas karo. Let's go.

Ayaan- Okay bye. One last kiss. (give Kanya a kiss on her cheeks)

Kanya- Bye Ayaan.

Kanya and family say their goodbyes. Kanya's eyes look for Ranbir and she feels aghast and sad when she sees tears in his eyes. She runs inside and breaks into to tears.

Kanya- I'm so sorry Ranbir. Mein apni di ko dukh nahin karna chahti hoon. She loves you. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me. I love you Ranbir. I love you. I'm so sorry. I love you. I also love you but I wont tell you. I wont hurt my sister. I'm so sorry. I love you. I love you.

Saying this she falls onto her bed. The part ends here.

YES.....i think tht 1 shuid travel on a 15hr flight...its sor borring!!! i saw 2 movies....well how many movies cn u c??? i totally enjoyed thinking of da ff....i love thinking...all da time goes in typing it onto da comp!!!! it took all my afternoon!!!!
