Part 9: Let's Party

Its party time!!! Big D Ranbir's grandmother has thrown a party in honour of the couples in love- Ayaan-Kanya and Pooja-Ranbir!!! Kanya is in a room in the Nanda mansion getting ready. She has worn a red gown. Just then Ranbir enters the room. Kanya looks at his reflection in the mirror and looks down. He is holding a packet in his hand.

Kanya- Tum yahaan kya kar rahe ho?

Ranbir- Kanya?

Kanya- Yes. What are you doing here?

Ranbir- Kanya mein yeh tumhare-

Kanya- Just shut up and go from here!

Ranbir- Listen to me-

Kanya- Go from here!!!

Ranbir- You shut up!

Kanya- How dare-

Ranbir (handing over the packet to her)- Yeh lo.

Kanya- Yeh kya hain?

Ranbir- Aaj ki party ke liye gown.

Kanya- I'm not going to accept gifts from here. And see? I aldready have a gown.

Ranbir- Listen Ayaan told me to give you this gown. He is busy getting ready for today's party. He told me to give it to you coz I'm aldready ready.

Kanya- But.

Ranbir- Ayaan chose this gown specially for you. Please accept it.

Kanya- Okay. Thanks.

Ranbir- Bye.

Kanya- Bye. (after Ranbir goes) How come Ayaan sent a gift for me??? Cant imagine why!!!

She takes out the gown from the packet. It is a beautiful white gown. Wanna have a look at it? Sure!!! Here it is-

Kanya is shocked that Ayaan has become romantic all of a sudden. She wonders whether Ayaan is really in love with her or not and then thinks that that is not possible and perhaps Ayaan is playing along and got the gown just to convince people.

Kanya- Anyways I'll wear the gown. Ayaan ne itne pyaar se to diya hain!

Then she wears the gown. Just then a lady walks in.

Lady- Are you Kanya Godbole?

Kanya- Jee haan. I am. Aap?

Lady- Im Neela Kapoor. Nanda's ke personal hair dresser. Mallika ji ne mujhe appko aur aapki behan ki baal ko tayyar karne ko kaha hain.

Kanya- Okay.

Neela- Okay aap please bait lo. I'll start working on your hair.

Kanya (smiling)- Sure.

Neela (examining Kanya's hair)- You have thin and fine hair. You have beautiful hair.

Kanya- Thank you.

Neela- Well any problem if I curl your hair?

Kanya- No problems!!

Neela- Good. Coz then I have the perfect hair style in mind for you. Here please put this around you. It'll prevent your dress from getting wet.

Kanya (taking the cape from here)- Sure.

Then Neela first wets Kanya's hair and then starts working on it. After an hour and half-

Neela- Voila!

Kanya- Your done kya?

Neela- Yes. Just look at yourself in the mirror. You look fab!!!

Kanya- Okay wait. (she gets up and looks at herself in the mirror. She lets out a gasp)

Kanya- Is this really me?

Neela- Of course!

Kanya- Thank you so much.

Just then Ranbir enters the room.

Ranbir- Yes. Yes. You look nice. Neela please come. My fiancee is waiting to get her hair done. Come.

Neela- Coming sir. Just a little touch-up.

Ranbir- Stop decorating her. You know the lady of the evening is my Pooja. Please come fast.

Neela- Coming. Sorry Kanya ma'am. I'll be right back.

Kanya- No need for that. I'll do the touch-up on my own. You can go.

Ranbir- Miss. Know-It-All.

Kanya- Wha?

Neela- Okay ma'am.

Neela leaves the room. Kanya is fuming coz of what Ranbir told her. Ranbir walks towards Kanya. She gets nervous.

Kanya- Please go from here.

Ranbir- Haan haan! Jaa rahi hoon. Anyways who wants to be near you anyways?

Kanya- Wha..

Ranbir- See? Being my wife is no mamuli thing. You get first class treatment.

Kanya- Who wants first class treatment when you have love? (has tears in her eyes.

Ranbir (softly)- Kanya?

Kanya- Just get out of here!!!

Ranbir- Fine! Well you are looking very beautiful.

Kanya- Thanx.

Ranbir goes out of the room. Kanya looks beautiful. I know you all wanna noe how she is looking. Well I will say she is looking fab!!! Wan a look at her hair-style? Sure! Here it is-

Just then Amri and Vipul enter the room.

Amri- Kanya you are looking fabulous!!!!

Vipul- Yeah! You are looking cool!

Kanya- Thankyou Amri di. Thankyou Vipul jiju.

Amri- I cant believe all this is happening so fast!

Vipul- Yes. All of the Godbole sisters wanna get married so fast!

Kanya- Yes. Even I cant believe it.

Amri- I cant believe you and Ayaan are getting married-

Vipul- After all you were the best of friends since childhood!

Kanya- Wait wait. You and Vipul jiju are actually completing each others words!

Amri- Let me complete what I'm saying Vipul. Yes Kanya I also know what we are doing. Actually all this happens in love.

Vipul- We know what the other person is saying. It is like only natural for us complete each others words.

Kanya (smiling)- There we go again!! Okay guys I have to go Ayaan must be waiting for you.

Amri- Go go! Your prince charming is waiting for you.

Vipul- Did you hear the latest news?

Kanya- What?

Vipul- Your cousin brother Harpal has asked Aarushi Nanda I mean The Aarushi Nanda for a date? And they have aldready gone for 2 casual dates!

Amri- And guess what??? Aarushi asked Harpal to be her date for today's party. Looks like another couple in making!!!

Vipul- Harpal is in cloud nine!!!

Kanya- Wow that is good news!!! By the way I have to go. See you two later! Bbye.

Vipul and Amri- Bbye.

All three of them go out. Kanya goes into the hall where she meets Ayaan. He is looking dashing in the following suit-

Ayaan- Kanya you are looking gorgeous!!!! Where did you get that perfect gown from?

Kanya- Matlab??

Ayaan- Matlab matlab kya??? From where did you buy it???? By the way hows my new suit? And how am I looking?

Kanya- You are looking handsome! And the suit is cool too! By the way stop fooling around huh. Where did you get this gown from?

Ayaan- Which gown? The one you are wearing? I didnt buy it!

Kanya- Whatttt???? But but Ranbir told me you bought it for me. That means he was lying.

Ayaan- Oh.

Kanya- Okay Ayaan lemme go and change.

Ayaan- Hey! No need for that! You are looking really nice. You wear this gown itself.

Kanya- But.....

Ayaan- Just listen to me. You wear it. Otherwise Ranbir might think that we were faking this whole lovestory thing up!

Kanya- Yeah you are right. Chalo lets go!

Ayaan- Okay. Hey there's Pooja di! She is looking so beautiful.....!!!!

Enter Pooja. Pooja enters the hall looking so cute. She is wearing a lilac gowna nd having da following hairstyle-

Kanya- You are looking so cute!!!

Ayaan- Yeah.

Pooja- Thanx! You are looking gorgeous yourself Kanya!!!!! And there is Ranbir!

Enter Ranbir. Ranbir comes there wearing the following suit-

He goes stands next to Pooja and puts his hands around Pooja's waist. Pooja blushes.

Ranbir- How am I looking darling?

Pooja- Handsome!

Ranbir- Thanx! You are looking beautiful yourself!

Pooja- Thanx. Lets all go down!

Ranbir- Sahi kaha! Ayaanbring your girl and come.

Ayaan (saluting)- Yes sir!

They all start laughing. Suddenly all the light goes off. The spotlight is on Ayaan-Kanya, Pooja-Ranbir and also Harpal-Aarushi. Harpal and Aarushi are wearing the following suit and gown-

Aarushi- Hey ladies and gentlemen! I welcome you to the party of the year!!!! The party to honour the couples in love- Pooja-Ranbir and Ayaan-Kanya!!!!!! Today the Nanda family has organised this super party you know something like a before shaadi party!!!

Harpal- And today I Harpal Godbole and she Aarushi Nanda are going to be your hosts for the evening. Lets start our game!!

Aarushi- Yes!!! Now rule the one and only golden rule- Ayaan and Kanya will first sing and dance to a romantic song. And once they are done Pooja and Ranbir will sing a song and you know dance also! C'mon let ther party begin!! Ayaan and Kanya please come under this large spotlight. All other spotlights off please.

Ayaan holds Kanya's hands and brings her under the spotlight. She puts her hands around his neck and he puts his hands arounf her waist. They look into each others eyes. Kanya's eyes show no emotion except for pain. Ayaan being a good actor emotes really well and his eyes are expressive and full of love. He starts singing.

Ayaan- Meelon ka jaise tha faasla,

Sadiyon ka jaise tha raasta,

Anjaan tha dil ke hona hain kya,

Phir bhi mujhe lagta hain yeh,

Humko toh milna hi tha.

Kanya- Meelon ka jaise tha faasla,

Ayaan- Meelon ka jaise tha faaslaaaaa

The music is playing. Ayaan looks into Kanya's eyes and Kanya into Ayaans. Kanya sees a flicker of love in Ayaan's eyes.

Ayaan- Mujhe mera junoon aakhir, kahaan se hain kahan laya...

Jise khwabon main tha dekha, use raahon main hain payaa.

Kanya- Itna na chaho yun na saraho, Kal milna paye to jane kya ho...

Ayaan- Kabhi na kehnaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aisa tum

Ab tum na hona gum.

Meelon ka......

Again the music fills in. Kanya looks happily at Ayaan and smiles. Ayaan closes his eyes for a while and opens them again. Pammi and Anand have tears in their eyes. They are very happy.

Kanya- Jo tum dekho to dil pighle,

Jo dil pighle nazrein jhuke,

Jhuki nazrein to tan machle,

Jo tan machle saanse ruke

Ayaan- Poora deewaana main hogaya hoon,

Paya tumhe toh main kho gaya hoon.

Kanya (placing her hand over his mouth)- Kabhi na kehnaaaaaaaaa

Aisa tum. Ab tum na hona gum!

Claps fill the room. The spotlight is gone and the main lights are switched on. Big D steps in.

Big D- Arre! Yeh fair nahin hain!

Ayaan- Matlab??

Big D- Ab no maza. There is no romance!

Ranbir- Huh?

Big D- I mean there is romance. But no fun!!! I have an even better game with me!

Kanya- What is it?

Big D- I know you couples wont like it but since I'm the eldest member of this house I want you guys to play my game my way!!!

Pooja- Sure ji. C'mon what's the game?

Big D- Well the rules are quite simple. The games name is PARTNER SWAP!!!

All- Kyaaa???

Big D- Haan. See I know you all are couples in love. But see Pooja doesnt love Ayaan and Ranbir doesnt love Kanya. But now I want the partners to swap their partners and dance!

Kanya- Wha-

Big D- Yes. C'mon. First Ranbir you and Kanya come. You should act like you are in love. I also want you ppl to sing a romantic number. I can also this way check your acting skills!

Ranbir- Okay. Come Kanya. Ayaan and Pooja do you mind?

Ayaan- No.....please zyaada romance nahin huh.

Ranbir- Okay. Kanya chalo.

Kanya- O...kay.

The hold each other and start dancing. They both look into each other with a lot of love.

Kanya rests her head over Ranbir's chest.

Kanya- I love you but I cant marry you.

Ranbir- But why?

Kanya- Coz I love my sister more. I cant hurt her. Please. If you love me you will leave me. Forget me and live a life wid di.

Ranbir- Okay but just for you.

All lights go out. Ranbir kisses Kanya on her forehead. Kanya suddenly breaks away from Ranbir. Everybody has a shocked expression on their faces.

Kanya- Hey guys! Aapko ye act kaisa laga?

Ranbir- Act?

Kanya- Jee haan! I just wanted to see how good actors we were! And I guess from the expressions on all your faces I proved you guys right! Yeah! I am a good actor.

Big D- Mein toh dar gayi thi. Anyways game over. Ayaan aur Pooja ki baari hi nahin hogi. C'mon lets start eating!

Kanya and Ayaan- Yesss! W all are feeling so hungry!!!

Pooja- Yes me too! Chalo!

They all start going towards the food court when Pooja comes upto Kanya.

Pooja- Kanya listen tum us side ki guests ko entertain karoger Ayaan ke saath. Mein aur Ranbir doosre side jaaongi. Woh side main Harpal aur Aarushi hogi. Aakhri side mein main Nandas hogi. Ok chalo chalo chalo!

Kanya- Okay di.

Kanya starts walking towards her assigned table when Ranbir comes upto her.

Ranbir- Kanya tum mazak kar rahi thi?

Kanya- Jee haan. You thought I was serious or what?

Ranbir- Kanya you know I love you. How can you fool me like that and play with my-

Kanya- Gosh Ranbir I was not playing with your emotions for heavens sake! I was just pretending.

Ranbir- But you know that I love you.

Kanya- So?? I love Ayaan. You know that.

Ranbir- That was really low of you to you know......

Kanya- Low of me? What was low of me Ranbir? What was huh? I was just acting. Silly of you to believe it.

Ranbir- Kanya...

Kanya- Sorry Mr.Nanda. But I am not a lowly creature.

Ranbir- I didnt say that Kanya. I thought that you loved me.

Kanya- How can you even think that I loved you? That too when you know I love Ayaan? Who will fall in love with you when they have Ayaan with them. Ayaan. That Ayaan whose smile steals everybody's hearts, whose smiles make people go weak knees. I mean how can you even think that I love you? You are so silly!!!!

Ranbir (holding Kanya and shaking her)- Kanya you love me. I know that you do. You love me damnit! You love me.

Kanya- How dare you? Let go of me!!! I hate you I dont love you please get that into your head and I never will. Just leave me alone. I love Ayaan. Ayaan Nanda. Please let go of me Mr.Nanda

Ranbir- Okay go.( lets go of her) But remember. I love you more than Ayaan does and will always will.

Kanya- No can love me more than Ayaan does. Speaking of Ayaan there he is! He is coming here with Pooja di! Ayaan over here! Di come here!

Ayaan (putting his hands around Kanya's waist)- Wassup Kanya? Chachu aapko toh wahan Pooja "chachi" ke saath hona chahiye. Go fast. Come Kanya lets go over to our side.

Kanya- Sure. Come.

Kanya and Ayaan go towards their side and Pooja and Ranbir go over to their side. Ranbir and Kanya both turn back towards each other at the same time. Both of them have tears in their eyes. The scene fades.
