Part 8

Ranbir and Kanya's wedding had been just perfect. It was beautiful, fun and exciting wedding. What had made it what it was, was in fact Kanya. Her beauty and radiance was like sunshine…brought light to everything and everyone. The wedding had been a small family and few friends wedding…the actual wedding ceremony. They held it at the Nanda House main hall…it was more that big enough. Ranbir had been stressed all day and yet at the same time excitedly happy, almost like floating in air.

He was sitting in the mandap and it was getting late, no sign of Kanya or Pooja Bhabi. Ranbir was getting scared. Then his eyes fell on the stairs. He saw her…OMG…it's like all of time stopped at that moment. Pooja Bhabi was bringing Kanya down. Kanya was dressed in a deep maroon outfit, make up done, hair done and decked out to the max…she truly looked like a princess. Seeing her made Ranbir stop all thought processes in his mind…all he could see was Kanya and all he could think was Kanya. Oh how he had loved her. As they did the ceremony Ranbir was in his own world. He put the mangulsutra on her neck promising to forever protect her and make sure she never lost this mangulsutra from her neck. Putting the sindoor in Kanya's mang he promised to always be faithful to it and he would see that her mang was never again suni (empty). With each phere he promised to be by her side at all times through out life, promised to keep her happy, promised to take care of her, promised to be the person she could trust and confide in, promised to respect her. He promised her everything.

The reception had been a huge affair. It was Ranbir Nanda's wedding so it was a grand-ol' party…lol…the media was there, all the top society people, business associates. Ranbir was getting really annoyed with everything; he just wanted to be with Kanya. He almost stopped the party and told people to go home but stopped himself. He was just fine while he was sitting next to Kanya. Kanya was really shy so rarely looked his way but Ranbir stared at her, he kept his hand locked with hers. When no one was looking Kanya whispered in to his ear that later on she had a surprise planned for him. Ranbir's mouth just about fell to the floor, now he had to get this party over with soon. They had their first dance to "Aaisa Koi Zindagi Mein Aaye…Jo Zindagiko Zindagi Bannaye"- Dosti…a perfect song to describe just how Ranbir felt towards Kanya. The entire time they looked into each others eyes.

When the party ended Ranbir was happy to get home. He, however, had another wait in front of him. They had to do the proper welcome of Kanya into the house. After all that was done Pooja Bhabi and made them play the little game where they drop the ring into the huge bowl of milk ( I think) and see who finds the ring. Ranbir saw this as an opportunity to have some fun. Inside the milk no one could see their hands. Instead of looking for the ring Ranbir kept his eyes on Kanya and grabbed her hand. She squirmed and fought but he wouldn't let her go. When Pooja Bhabi had caught them ha had felt so embarrassed that he pulled his hand out only to see Kanya holding the gold ring in her hand. Aditya Bhaia said that now Kanya would rule over Ranbir…Ranbir was not surprised…since he met Kanya she had ruled over him. After all that was done Pooja Bhabi had taken Kanya upstairs, Ranbir almost ran up himself. Aditya Bhaia had stopped him, saying that the wait would be worth it.

Boy, what the wait worth it. When Ranbir walked into his room…oops…their room. He was blown away by the sight. There was no light on in the room, just the glow of a hundred candles. This created the most amazing effect on Kanya's face. She was sitting on the bed. Ranbir came over and sat in front of Kanya. Ranbir felt like he was traveler in the desert who had gone weeks w/ out water…and Kanya was that salvation. Ranbir slowly went to move Kanya's dupatta…when Kanya went back and stood up. Ranbir was confused…what was she doing. Kanya went and stood next to the window, her back to him. He went up to her when she suddenly turned and pressed a remote. Next thing he heard was music…and it was none other than "Thriller"…Ranbir looked at Kanya who had the biggest grin on her face. She leaned over to his ears and ever so softly whispered "Surprise". Ranbir burst out laughing, she truly was one in a million. She took his hand and she danced with him. She said it was their Official First Dance…to their song…it was special to both of them.

When the song came to and end, Kanya's head rested on Ranbir's chest. He took her face into his hands and kissed her. Soft and first and then with hungry passion. He took of all of her jewelry, only her mangulsutra remained. He proceeded to make Kanya his. (Fade Away…*wink wink*…lol…) That night neither of them slept, they showed each other just how they felt. They poured their should out to each other, they let the other into their heart, soul and spirit. They were One.

Ranbir treasured that night with his whole heart. It was the night he made Kanya his, and only his in every way possible. That was the night he had vowed to be with her forever, vowed to love and cherish her, vowed to protect her, vowed to keep her heart safe, vowed to stay with her all his life.

Ranbir never thought that Kanya had made no such vows, and those that she made she broke. She didn't stay with him forever, she didn't keep his heart safe, she didn't stay with him…no…Kanya left him…Kanya left him as he always was…alone…he had turned into that traveler in the desert searching for water…he was in search of Kanya but there was no salvation for him…his salvation would never come until the end….thinking about this made one solitary tear slide down his face and land into his hand...the hand that held a necklace of black beads and gold...Kanya's mangulsutra...something she had returned to him when she left...
