Seven years ago Ranbir Nanda had meet the love of his life...only he hadn't know it at the time. Aditya's wedding was followed 5 days after the menhendi ki rassam. For those seven days there was only one thing on his mind, better yet, only one person on his mind. He felt weird asking his older brother about that person but he had. Aditya had informed him that the "man" Ranbir came across wasn't a man at all. It was actually Pooja's younger sister. They girls had all put on a little song and dance play for entertainment. Pooja's younger sister had been the male in the story; hence the mustache, beard and pot belly. Ranbir had to admit, this person looked rather cute, even dressed as a man. He just wanted to see her as she was, all manly get up aside. His wish came true 5 days after the mehendi.
Ranbir was a tad late to Aditya's wedding. Being Ranbir Nanda had its draw backs. He got there just in time for the pheres. He was so busy trying not to miss the ceremony that he didn't notice anything around him. After the wedding ceremony was done, Ranbir didn't know what to do. He just went to the back of the reception hall and hung out with his friends and some of Aditya's friends. He heard a song go on..."Meri Banno Ki..." from the movie Aaina. He didn't pay much attention to it. He was enjoying himself. He over heard a passer by saying what a great song it was for dancing to; it was perfect seeing that it was in face her sisters wedding. That's when it clicked for Ranbir, the girls he was dying to see was doing the dance. He raced over to the stage only to reach there too late. The song was over, the girl was gone, lost in a swarm of others congratulating her. No matter how hard he tried he couldn't see her. He finally went back to the party.
Once the party was in full swing, everyone was on the dance floor, except Ranbir. He just couldn't get over the fact that he had missed seeing this girl. He felt a hand on his shoulder, looking up he saw his brother. Aditya had managed to drag Ranbir on to the dance floor. Ranbir was fuming mad. Ranbir Nanda didn't dance, he just didn't. He could have killed his brother that night. But looking back now, he owed that one careless gesture from his brother, his life. On the dance floor Ranbir tried his best to dance to the rhythm. He turned around to leave but knocked smack into someone causing them to loose balance and almost fall. Ranbir quickly caught them and helped them stabilize themselves. Once they were at grips again Ranbir looked at this person. My God was she beautiful.
He always had girls chasing behind him, I mean after all he was Ranbir Nanda. Girls always fell at his feet, but he was never interested. He could have easily been some playboy but he just wasn't like that. He respected too much to just mess around with hem like that. He was raised better than that. The girls were gorgeous, one more so than the pervious then, all of them super model types. None of them were "beautiful". They all looked hot, but not beautiful. This girl standing in front of him was beautiful, she was classic beauty. She left him speech less. She had long black hair, no fake color to change it. She had a great body, not stick thin but curvy in all the right places. She wasn't baring her skin for the world to see in a reveling outfit; she wore a beautiful pink gharga/choli but was covered up, looking very decent. She wasn't pasty with tons of make up, or falling over in jewelry. Her face gave off an air of innocence, and culture that he hadn't seen b4. Her eyes...OMG her eyes...you could get lost in those eyes, they let u see into her soul. Those eyes...they look so familiar...but from where...
S(stranger)- I'm sorry i didn't see u.
R- No its not your fault, i ran into you.
S- well thanks from saving me from falling.
R- Yeah...no problem.
S- Ummm...do i have something on my face, u keep staring at me.
R- Oh..No...its just that u look really familiar, have i seen u b4?
S- Actually have, we met, well not officially about 5 days back.
R- 5 days?...i would have remembered u.
S- Maybe it will help if u picture me in a fake mustache and beard.
R- What...fake what?! Are u that person that thought i was Aditya Bhaia?
S- Yep that was me..
R- That means u r...
S- Hi, I'm Kanya Godbole, Pooja Godbole's...oops Pooja Nanda's younger sister. You are Ranbir Nanda if I'm not mistaken.
She extended her hand out for a hand shake. When Ranbir's hands met with hers he felt it again. Like an electric shock that went through his whole body, and ended at his heart. He found her, and she was more than he had ever expected. He was in such a daze just looking at her, he didn't realize when someone came and took her away. When he finally came back to reality he walking away laughing with someone. That laugh, God it was good to hear in person again...not just in his head.
Ranbir was furious with himself that he had let he get away. Not once but twice in one night. He had to know more about her. He knew the perfect person too, his new Bhabi; who better than her own sister. He knew he couldn't just ask questions like that to his new Bhabi. Ranbir figured he would take a few weeks and get to know his new Bhabi, and then ask. He had it all planned out. He would just have to wait for a few more weeks, one month tops. He could do that, he was steel clad Ranbir Nanda.
Destiny had other plans for him. A few days after the wedding Ranbir had to leave back to the States. The deal he had finalized had run into some problems that only he could handle, or Aditya. Aditya was newly wed so Ranbir couldn't send his brother like that. Ranbir decided to go, with a heavy heart. He didn't want to go, he wanted to stay and find a way to get to Kanya. He had no choice. He had to leave, and he didn't know when he would be getting back. His heart would have to be put on hold for now. He just prayed that while he was gone Kanya didn't move on. He didn't even know if she was with someone now. He just prayed that since God had put Kanya in his heart, that God didn't take her away from his life. Not so soon....
