Hiiii guys!!!
I know this is the height of irregularity bt problems here are getting endless....lastly wen i talkd to dipsie usko fever tha n I hve strained my neck 5 days back n now I cnt even sit on PC for more than 5 mins...Its sooooo painful!!!!Besides our good old hectic clg schedule n xms time approaching...isliye updt delay hota jaa rha hai...Bt We r on d verge of finalizing nxt updt....so u can most probably xpect nxt updt 2mrw...hamari taraf se holi gift..hehe...

So sorry for the delay..Hope u guys r still w8ing!

He dragged himself out of his bed and walked towards the bathroom. His steps were unsteady. He grabbed the knob of the door only to find his hands trembling uncontrollably. He was shaken deeply from within. He opened the tap to wash his face but stopped after he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. His eyes had reddened and he looked deeply aghast and pale. He looked in his own eyes in the mirror for a while and a small shallow smirk surfaced on his face after seeing his own condition. The nightmare had bothered him immensely and he believed he was getting used to for this nightmare as a part of his routine. He immediately washed his face brusquely as if trying to get rid of pain and anguish. He returned to his room and lied down on the couch.

He was soon feeling dizzy and cold. He turned off the AC and tried to get back to sleep. But inspite of feeling dizzy he could not sleep. Odd flashes of good old times kept emerging in front of his eyes. The room was filled with tinkling sound of laughter, distant sound of someone's non stop chatter, scent of roses, pillow fights, hi-tech gizmos, 'Everything I do' being played at a loud volume…… all this was gradually getting dissolved in the air coming out of nowhere slowly become a part of a dream world where Rajveer was drifting in. But then there was some nuisance. A sound which wasn't a part of beautiful world he could see, he could hear. It was a sharp disturbing sound of a ….of….of the doorbell. He shook out of his half slept state.

Someone was at the door. He reluctantly got up to get the untimely visitor. His legs were still not supporting him properly. He opened the door to find a face he least expected and last wished for. But she was there.

"Yes Miss. Ahluwalia."
He was clearly uninterested in receiving this visitor and getting into a conversation that was to follow. He actually felt like banging the door at her face but courtesy stopped him from doing that.
"I need to talk to you."
"Have you lost your watch or is it your brain that has gone missing?"
To hell with courtesy and civility. He said what he felt like.
"Listen I m not here to suit my wish or yours. I m here for our syndicate and our mission. And for Mission Parinda every time is just right to get going."
"Even if its 5 in the morning. For heaven's sake…you…Forget it…What do you want?"
"Nothing. But others from the syndicate want you back."
"Look Miss Singh…"
"Naina..."
"Whatever… Alright first come on in. This issue is too sensitive to be discussed on my house's threshold."
"Are you okay?" She asked him as she entered behind him and noticed his unsteady walk.
"None of your business." He dismissed her rudely.
"Fine. Then I'll come back to my business. Are you back on mission Parinda?"
"No."
"Why?"
"I don't think we can actually work together. So it will be better for the mission and other's involved if one of us steps back."
"I just don't understand why Bhaiyya is so hell bent on getting you back. You can't even think about anything after yourself."
"You may think whatever you feel like. But as of now you may leave if there is nothing more you want to say."
"Just one thing."
"What?"
"Will you come back if…..If I…."
"If you…"
"Ammm… Apologize."
He chuckled as he saw her struggling to utter the word apology…an apology he knew is out of question. Besides he didn't even need that.
"You… and apology!" He taunted.
"Well…. May be."
"Alright. I am waiting. Go ahead. I might just give it a thought to change my mind."
"Okay then….I….I am…."
"You are what?" he prompted.
"I am …..well… I…"
She had never ever apologized to a person she so much disliked. But this was an altogether different situation and it demanded an apology from her and she, as he believed, was reluctant.
"Oho! Tumhein pata hai main yahan khud chal ke aayi hoon despite the fact that I didn't want to do that. But I did because it isn't about any of us. It's about our country. Tum apni country ke liye itna nahin kar sakte kya?" She was literally shouting at him by the time she finished.
But instead of reacting at that shouting he sat there smiling. He knew how much she meant what she said and also because he knew he was right. She was too stubborn to apologize and she won't do that for anything.
"Aur kuch kehna hai tumhein or you are done?"
"Matlab tum wapas mission join nahin karoge?"
"I'll talk to Colonel about that."
"Does that mean a yes or no?"
"I am on."
"Really? Tum to aasani se maan gayi. Main bekar hi tension le ke baithi thi."
"You are impossible. Do you know that?"
"Of course I do. Anyways you are looking unwell so you take care of yourself I'll take your leave."
"I am fine but thanks for your concern."
Naina turned to leave and as she reached the door she turned only to find him absorbed in some deep thoughts. She knocked on the door to drag his attention. As he looked up she said something that took him by surprise.
"Sorry."
She left or rather ran out as she finished. She didn't turn around to see his reaction or may be she could face him because an apology was so not her and still she had said which was as impulsive and instinctive as it was surprising for her own self.

5 Hours later

It was a small cozy room with bare minimum furniture. Just a huge round table and 3 chairs duly occupied by three gentlemen at work. All three of them had a laptop each though one of them rather stared at his own than working on it like the other two.

The two of them were completely engrossed in their laptops playing their favorite old game. Rajveer and Alekh had always loved doing it. The rules of the game were simple. They had to hack inside each other's system at the same time stopping the other to hack inside their own. Both of their systems were well equipped with the best of virtual protection and anti hacking softwares but then the fun was to crack it down.

They both were testing themselves if they were still that good at it. It was a test of their skills, dexterity, capabilities and sharp brains. And both of them had them all, so the game was all the more challenging.
They were busy in their own game until Navin interrupted.

"By the way… I agree aap dono ka idea bahut acha tha yeh game khelne ka since you both have stayed away from all this for very long but will you guys be kind enough to tell me how long this is gonna continue? I m already getting bored sitting idle for last two hours."

"Patience Navin… We have only started." Rajveer replied in a cool tone.
"I know… Okay atleast tell me when you guys did it last time how long has it taken for you guys to finish."
"I think…." Alekh took a brief pause to recall before he answered Navin.
"…19 hours… Right Raj?"
"Yes… But that time we had no results. We were asked to stop in between."
"Damn! You guys are planning to sit through one full day or what?"
"I think so." Rajveer replied.
"In that case Raj, I am not a loony to sit here and be your spectator of a not so spectacular game. I have lots more to do. Jab result aa jaye then give me a call."
No one replied this time. They were more than busy.

He opened his eyes. There was a severe pain running through his body. His body had gone numb. He looked around with his blurred vision only to find some unfamiliar faces rushing around him saying something he could not hear. It appeared as if the entire world around him has been muted. He couldn't even hear his own moans. It didn't take him long to realize that he was in a hospital with the feeling of constant prick of needles. But the pain was in his chest… It was severe and killing. Killing…yes…of course... Someone had tried to kill him. He was shot…sometime back or may be some days back or… he had lost the track of time.

Around an hour later he was shifted into another room. This one was more comfortable and during all this while his senses were gradually becoming a bit more active. He could smell ether, his pain was increasing, his vision had cleared and he could even hear some voices. Everyone around him looked very tensed and nerved. After all, he wasn't an ordinary person. He was Dr. K.P. Iyer… The chief scientist and the brain behind the launch of Karma. This was the grave issued discussed in the syndicate meeting by Navin the previous day. The news of this attack was kept under the wraps to avoid panic and to avoid unnecessary questions and apprehensions in the mind of the millions of the public and in the minds of the few people who were either directly associated with the project or were looking forward to its success.
Navin was pacing outside his room while there was this another guy who was instructing the guards about their protection. The security level was being upgraded. Dr. Iyer needed 'Z' level security. After around 15 minutes doctor came out and allowed Navin to go inside and talk to Dr. Iyer but on the condition that he must not be bothered or made to speak.

Navin entered with the man to talk to Mr. K.P.Iyer. He had met him before just two hours before he was shot.

"Good evening sir. How are you feeling now?"
'Alive.' How he wanted to answer this but he couldn't. Instead he just nodded his head in affirmation.
"We are glad that you are safe sir. You are very precious for our country. That's why we have decided to increase your security. This gentleman will now on be responsible for your security. Sir please meet…. Mr. Ali Baig."

Pheww...Long one i suppose........That was all i cud manage......Tho this tym it was Dipsie's turn to updt bt she cudnt manage much of tym for this so i m doing this instead of her...anyhow.......there's an important announcement........

we are facing a lot of problems working out updts since xms are nearing & we hve tym constraints......like many of u say u guys cudnt read bcoz of ur xms so i guess u all will understand thinking of an updt is all the more difficult under tym (& also brain) constraints..........& to leave u guys w8ing endlessly for updts wont be fair...like wat happened this tym....so we hve decided to take a break...get done away wid our xms n return wid speedier updts....cant say how long this break will xtend bt somehow we arent left wid many choices.....We'll announce the duration of break later....We sincerely hope you guys wont loose all of ur interest frm the fic....n after break the fic will be faster n less complicated in terms of anony chars!
