Everyone stared at Naina as she stood feeling lost facing those questions in everyone's eyes.
'How were they supposed to go ahead with Mission without a mastermind like Rajveer?'
"What?" She almost yelled back at all of them who continued to glare.
"Alright guys! We don't have any time to waste. This mission is way too urgent and important to waste anymore time. We can go ahead with today's meeting without Rajveer since he already has all the details. "
"But if Rajveer is out so am I!" Alekh said.
"No he's not.... Miss Naina Singh will get him back."
"Out of question!" She sneered.
"I am not giving you any option of saying no. You'll do as you are told to do."
"But..." Naina tried to raise an objection but Navin cut him in between.
"End of discussion... We need him back. He's indispensable for us."
"Lekin Bhai...."
"I am the boss and it's an order.... Am I clear?"
"Yes.... Sir...." She made a long face and sank down in her chair. She was thoroughly enraged but who was to be held responsible for it...she could not understand. One was a guy who never stopped throwing attitude, and she was supposed to work with him on this mission and that would mean may be an apology.....yuck....apology from that khadoos.... It could not get worse than this. But this another guy was her own brother making things difficult for her and.... hell... What was new in that? He's always been weird.
"Good.... So let's begin now... I hope you all are well aware of the impending launch of Karma and what its success means to us." Navin's voice distracted her from her thoughts but her sore feeling was written all over her face. But she dragged her focus on the discussion going on. Her work and her country were more important than anything else.
"And apparently it's virtually impossible for us to go ahead with such a huge project without any hindrance... India's progress is quite a distress for many countries." Huda continued.
"Exactly....and here's what has been happening behind the scenes in the last fortnight.... The entire network is ready and will be fully functional once Karma is launched. The scientists and the technical team with the prior permission of president have given a trial run last week, that is, a month before its launch but they encountered a major problem. On investigation it is found that the system was tried to be hacked but the attempt has been unsuccessful since the entire system was shut down as the problem came. The hackers couldn't be tracked down. Apparently they were highly talented professionals. So it has been decided to keep the system shut until we are all prepared to deal with another hacking situation which we will undoubtedly face. RAW, Indian secret services and Army Intelligence has been assigned the task to protect the Mission and ensure successful launch of the satellite."
"But why us? Agar koi hamare supercomputers ko hack in karne ki koshish kar raha hai to humlog ise kaise rok sakte hain. We are not the experts in that... Alekh and Rajveer are. Hum log to spies hain." Yudi was wondering what he was going to do.
"Right. Technical aspects mein there isn't much that you guys can do but we still need you all... To get the people behind all this. Besides there is one more problem."
"Iske baad bhi kuch hai colonel." Alekh's tone wasn't amiable at least.
"Yes Alekh. The latest problem that we have encountered is......"
There was a pause that followed before he finished and once he did, everyone was taken aback. There were actually so many things under the covers and the layers were now being gradually removed. The meeting went on for another 2 hours before it was called off.
"Next meeting ki venue and timings aap logon ko inform kar diya jaayega and till then you all return to the routine lives you all have. We need a little set up to be prepared before you guys can get down to your work. But for that we need Rajveer and Ms. Singh, this is his visiting card... Go and meet him and get him back to the syndicate...ASAP!" Navin handed her a visiting card.

"Dude....I can't believe ki tum Intelligence mein the.... Tumne apne baare mein kitna kuch chupa ke rakha tha mujhse." Yudi was excited to find this astounding piece of fact about his friend-cum-partner. The meeting was over and they were sitting with Naina at her place.
"Jaise tune mujhe bataya tha.... But tujhe Intellegence mein liya kisne?" he made a teasing remark.
"Usi ne jisne Naina ko liya.... Ms. Touch me not! Tu aur spy.....No actually tu and Colonel Navin Singh Ahluwalia ki behen...Wow!"
But she was lost in her own zone.
"Naina...hellooooo... I am talking to you!"
Yudi tried to divert her attention from something inane back to themselves and mission Parinda but she wasn't really interested. Even Alekh's eyes were fixed on her but she wasn't bothered about anything except for one.
A silence prevailed in the room as three of them sat quietly until Alekh broke the ice.
"I know it's not easy to work with Raj..."
"Haina. I wish Bhaiyya could understand. But nahin. Meri baat kabhi suni hai unhone." She finally reacted.
"But trust me.... It's not that very difficult either."
"Whatever...I don't think I am interested in hearing even a single nice word about him."
"But babes...he's a genius...U should have heard his intro...Gosh! This man is actually a....." Yudi could not finish. Naina's glare was more than enough to ensure that.
"Okay fine! Forget about him. Waise what do you think... How large would this mission turn out to be?" He tried to change the topic.
"Huge. This time it won't be mere group of terrorists backed up by an enemy nation.....not guns but technology... Not the raw power but immensely sharp brains. It will be way beyond anything done by you guys so far." Alekh answered him.
Somehow even Naina got interested in this discussion. It was exciting and the dangers were far from being visible. Alekh was right it wasn't something they have done so far... It wasn't exactly something they were trained for but it was there.... Right in front of them. The very thought of of doing it set the adrenaline pumping for her.
Suddenly the doorbell rang. She went to see the visitor and was quite surprised to find Navin standing. She tried to close the door at his face but a hand stopped the door as it was about to close. It wasn't difficult for her to make out that it wasn't Navin's hand. It was too feminine for that. She opened the door and was quite surprised to see a familiar face.
"Shalini!" she was surprised to see her.
"Kaisi ho Naina?" Saying this she stepped forward and hugged her.
Naina let them in. But she couldn't get over the shock that she had got.
"Shalini... what are you doing with this jerk? Don't tell me you guys are still together."
"Together... Happy and.... living in!!" She answered softly.
"What? Kab se?"
"Jabse Navin ne ghar choda tha."
"Shalini... Tumhein nahin lagta ki you have got a bad taste in men?"
"Wrong question Naina. Tumhein poochna chahiye tha ki Jab Navin ne 6 years back yeh keh kar ghar choda tha ki he's quitting Army to woh aaj meeting mein kya kar rha tha?"
That was the first question to hit Naina when she saw him in meeting but after a little squabble with Rajveer she had literally forgotten about this.

He was sleeping comfortably in his master bedroom. As he turned to the right side his hands rested comfortably on the pillow next to his own. Deep within his sleep he could feel something strange. Certain wetness between his fingers. It was discomforting. He got up from his sleep and switched on the lamp on his side table. His eyes were still closed. He rubbed his eyes with his hands before he opened them. But as he opened his sleepy eyes he came face to face with a mirror. Sleep disappeared from his eyes and he was horrified. His face had traces of blood on it. He checked his hands. The wetness he was feeling was thick red blood. His hands looked as in soaked in a pool of blood. He looked at the pillow, then the bed and then all over in the room. Everywhere there was blood....On the pillow... the spotless white sheet had turned into red.... the wall, mirror, furniture and even the ceiling. There were drops of blood dripping from the ceiling and to add to his horror.... a drop came down directly on his cheek and a scream escaped his lips......
"Nooooooooooooo..........." He woke up with a scream. Beads of sweat were dripping from his forehead, his eyes had turned red, his breathing was erratic and heartbeats were racing at an enormous speed throbbing against his ribs. His condition was pathetic. He looked around. The blood traces had gone, the mirror, that bed nothing was there. Infact he wasn't even in his room.
'Then where was he?'
He looked around in confusion trying desperately to recall and he did. He wasn't in his home. He remembered that he was in India once he managed to get a grip over himself. He gulped down some water immediately from the jar itself. It was the same nightmare bothering him again. Ever since he has come back to India, the nightmare had become more frequent. It was haunting him again.
