The Strange Path

RECAP:After opening the door, who she saw infront of her, shocked her. It created a sudden panic inside her. What will she do now? Seeing that person, she knew in an instant that the truth cannot be hidden from Bade pa and Badi chachi anymore.

Chapter: 9

The bright yellow sun was burning like anything today, making it hard for anyone to stand up on the ground bare foot. It was one of the hottest days of the season, summer. But it was quite amusing that even in this kind of heat, with the sun rays falling directly on Aarzo, she was almost shivering, with cold drops of sweat, appearing on her forehead. "Adeel Uncle?", Aarzo asked the man standing infront of her to confirm that what was she seeing was not her imagination. She prayed in her heart to let it be her imagination or just a dream. "Yes Aarzo, its me.", the person said, breaking Aarzo's chain of thoughts and clarifying her confusion that it is neither her dream nor an imagination. "Aarzo, I am here to discuss something very important. Let's go in.", Adeel Uncle said as he began to move inside the house but Aarzo stopped him. He looked at her with questions in his eyes as to why she was stopping him from going inside. "I know Adeel Uncle what are you here to talk about but we can't go inside at this moment. Can you please wait here for a minute? I will be right back", saying this Aarzo quickly went inside the house. "Who is it Aarzo?", Bade pa asked her. Now, the nervousness was clearly visible on her face. She couldn't say another lie to him, thought Aarzo. "Papa you should take a rest now as you have just taken your medicines. Shiza, take Papa to his room.", Zohaib handled the situation as he understood there is another problem waiting for them, after seeing Aarzo's worried face. "But atleast let me see that who is on the door", Zohaib's dad added, wanting to stay back but the medicines started to work and soon he began to feel drowsy. So, he had no other choices but to go in the room and take some rest. Aarzo had a long sigh of relief and then went to get Adeel Uncle.

Adeel Hasan ------ a successful lawyer and Mr. Minhal's best friend, since childhood. Mr. Adeel has always considered Aarzo as his own daughter and Mr. Minhal as his brother. Today he was here to perform his duty as a Lawyer; to hand over Mr. Minhal's Will Papers to the person who it belongs to: his daughter, Aarzo.

It was so hard for Aarzo to tell Badi chachi about her dad, nearly impossible. Nevertheless, she built up some courage and with the help of Afia, Ali, Zohaib and Shiza, she disclosed the truth to Mrs. Ifteqar Shah; her Badi chachi. Badi chachi's condition was unexplainable. It's very hard to describe someone else's pain in your own words as one can't do full justice with it. Only they: the person suffering knows what they are feeling and going through. But Aarzo understood Badi chachi's pain as they all were going through the same situation. The only difference was that Aarzo and her cousins have gained some control over theirselves to bare this pain. Time was being the aid, their medicine. However, Badi Chachi was new to the heart breaking news about her brother-in-law, Minahl Shah.

Silence lied in every corner of the house. It felt as if nobody was present in the house. All of them were just sitting lost in their own thoughts. Badi chachi was feeling a lot better now. The decision was made. They will tell Bade pa about Minhal chacha. "Let's go in to his room. He must be awake now", Badi chachi said breaking the silence as she addressed to all of them. "Adeel Uncle can we do this some other day, please as you can see the condition here", Aarzo requested her uncle, pointing at the Will papers in his hands. "Aarzo, my kiddo! I understand but this is really important. I have to discuss it with all of you, today itself because I am going out of town for a case. I can't go without finishing this. Who knows how long will it take me there. And even if I come back then I might not be able to discuss it with your Bade pa as they will be leaving soon too. I have to submit these papers. They are my first priority. Your dad has given me this responsibility and I am fulfilling it as his last request from me. Will you help me fulfill it?", Adeel Uncle explained to Aarzo as he took her to a side. Now it was upto Aarzo to make a decision. She glanced at the papers in his hands and at the people waiting for her at the other end of the hall; her relatives, her family. She has to do it. Making her final decision, she touched the papers in Adeel Uncle's hands, nodding her head to show her approval. 'I hope that it is the right decision. Bade pa would have want me to do the same as far as I know him. I can't ignore it even by mistake. It's your last wish Papa and your daughter WILL fulfill it. Just for you.', Aarzo said in her mind.

"Bade pa, I wanted to tell you something. But first you will have to promise that you will be very strong and won't cry! And if you want to cry, then you will only use my shoulders", Aarzo said, putting her head on her Bade pa's shoulder, holding his hand. They all have reached his room but nobody had the power to tell him about Minhal chacha. However, Aarzo assured them that she will do it. But she herself, wasn't sure if she could do it. "What do you want to tell me bacha?", Bade pa asked her a little worried. "Bade pa, I informed you about a month ago that Papa was very ill. Right?", she said, thinking to tell him bit by bit. "Yeah, I remember.", he replied as the memory flashed in his mind, remembering how Aarzo told him about his brother's illness, when he called her. "A few days after it, Papa's condition got more worse and………aaandd…he…he died just passed…he left us all…forever……..", saying this Aarzo ran out of the room, unable to stay there any further as the tears welled up in her eyes. But someone caught her hand, stopping her before she leaves the room. She turned to see it was Afia, whose eyes were requesting her not to leave. It was not possible for anyone to tell the truth to Bade pa but Aarzo had done it.

Aarzo pushed Afia's hand off hers and ran to her room. Now, all of them were confused, if they should stay here with Bade pa or go to Aarzo. Afia and Ali ran to Aarzo's room telling the rest of them to stay with Bade pa as he needs their support.

"Aaru! Where are you?", Afia said, entering Aarzo's room, where it was all dark as Aarzo had turned off all the lights. "Bhayya, can you turn on the lights? I can't find the switch, it's so dark!", Afia asked Ali who was standing behind her. "I can't find it either.", Ali said, with his hands on the wall in hope to find the switch but all his tries went in vain. "Aaru, where are you?", Ali asked the same question but no replies. After a few minutes, they heard someone's sob and knew that was Aarzo. Afia got alert and started to follow the little sound clue they got, which will take them to her. "Here you are!", Afia said as her hands touched Aarzo. Atlast she found her. "I found it", said an enthusiastic Ali as he switched on the lights. But seeing Aarzo, both of them were just shocked. They knew that Aarzo would be sad, but they haven't expected the sight they saw just now. They didn't imagine her to be like this. The tears from her eyes were flowing endlessly, making her eyes red. "Aaru, don't cry please.", Afia said wiping her own tears. "Afia! Go to Bade pa. Check if he's fine. I will see Aarzo.", Ali said, still standing on the doorway, near the switch board. Afia just nodded and did what she is been told to. Ali wanted to talk to Aarzo alone at this moment. He just want to make her understand what is she doing as she will get nothing by crying like this. "Aaru! Stop crying at this very second.", said Ali kneeling down, sitting where Aarzo was. Here Aarzo couldn't listen to a word anyone said. She was just lost….in her own world, staring at the sky from outside the window beside her. The sun was drowning and she felt herself drowning just like that Sun. It was the same Sun that was shining ever so brightly sometime before, with so much pride, spreading its heat everywhere on this land. The same was with Aarzo, who promised to maintain herself, be strong like before, after she came back from the hospital, after she saw how much everybody care for her, after she saw how much of an effect she has on the others, after she saw the sadness and tears in their eyes. She was going strong, confident of herself that she will not break down until now. Atleast the sun promised to come back again tomorrow and the time it's not present here, its light will be shining through the moon. It will convey itself, its importance, and fulfilling people's needs, serving his purpose through that moon. However, Aarzo didn't even know what was going on. She wasn't aware of where she is? She didn't even know that she was crying. She could only feel the wettness of the tears on her face. She felt that she was not present here, the place where her body was. Her soul, her life was just lost somewhere, trying to search for some peace but it had no better place than to go back to where it belongs; to Aarzo.

'Her condition could have gotten worse and she would have gone into depression.' These words of the Doctor kept repeating in Ali's mind. He was scared for her. Depression? At this age? She is just an eighteen year old. 'Even the word, DEPRESSION should be miles far away from her.', he thought. She was too young to go through these things. But bad luck/time never knocks on your door before entering. Pushing all the thoughts away, he started the struggle to make Aarzo listen to him. When calling her name a few times didn't work, he took a glass of cold water and sprinkled it on her face. Aarzo jerked a little when the cold drops of water touched her face. The water was ice cold. It felt to Aarzo that those few drops were some kind of shock treatment that brought her back to this world. She looked around her surroundings as if she was new to her own house. "Aarzo? Are you okay?", Ali asked with a lot of concern as he saw her looking strangely around herself, in every direction as if she is trying to recognize this place. Aarzo stared at his face as if he is unfamiliar to her. 'Doesn't she know me?', questioned a confused Ali to himself. He tried to read any expressions on her face, if there were any. Her eyes were so empty, with no emotion at all. Although those tears have stopped flowing, but they did leave an emptiness in her eyes.

So, here is the end of this part. And congrats! to Armaghan0 and Nature099 for guessing it right that the unknown person is a lawyer.👏 Well, in this part. Now, for this part, Where is Aarzo going? I know it's pretty obvious where she is going but I will still ask that what do you think? as I might put in a twist and it wouldn't be what you predict.😛 Lol. i think I am confusing you all.😆 Anyways, in the next part you will get to know whats written in Mr. Minhal's Will Papers. There are many important twist and turns in this story which are led by this Will only. Once again,😉 keep reading/guessing/suggesting/ and COMMENTING!!!!!

amazing well shes obviously going to her bade papa and inbetween maybe she will encounter zohaib well maybe there would be something in her fathers will regarding her marrige or guardianship or something and i think she is having de ja vu or something i dont think she will fall into depression but she would suffer from some sort of amnesia 😆 am confused lol anyways loved it pls con asap
