The Strange Path

RECAP: Just a moment ago, she was staring at him like he is an alien and now, just out of no where she was asking him about Bade pa? He was simply C-O-N-F-U-S-E-D!!!!! "I am sorry. I puzzled you.", she apologized and with no other explanation, she walked away to the place she should be at this moment.

Chapter: 10

The movement of her foot steps was slowing down with each passing second. It was getting very hard for her to take every next step and even harder to maintain her balance on the ground, keeping up with the few steps she have taken. An unknown fear came over her mind, which she didn't know even after knowing it. Was it the fear of losing her bade pa? Or something else? Whatever it was, she has to go and see if Bade pa is alright. No matter how much she tried to calm herself down, it did not work. She was counting the remaining steps she has to take with each step she took that will lead her to Bade pa's room. Her body was trembling with fear. The soft, carpeted floor beneath her bare feet, felt as a bed of thorns. Nevertheless, she was trying her best to walk and get to his room anyhow, as fast as she could. She moved her right foot to take the next step, but stopped in between as she heard the sound of someone's footsteps. It felt as if that person was in a hurry and therefore was running to reach his/her destination. She turned back to see a familiar face. His eyes conveyed warmth but his facial expressions told another story. He looked tensed, worried and…..sad. "Aarzo, stop!", Ali said panting a little as he reached her. But she started walking again, after seeing him. Aarzo stopped when she heard him call her again. She waited for him to continue, but never turned around. He sighed loudly, taking her with him as he headed towards the kitchen.

"Here, drink some water.", Ali said offering her a glass of cold water. "It's okay. The one you dumped on me was enough.", Aarzo said pushing the glass away, being a little stubborn as she tried to show her anger on what he did a few minutes ago. "Aaru? No blaming okay? I never dumped the water. I just sprinkled a few drops on you because I thought it was necessary to do it.", Ali said cutely, defending himself. "But why did you bring me here? I should be with Bade pa at this moment.", she asked as she started to go out of the kitchen to Bade pa's room. "Stop. Stop. Stop. Just give me a few minutes to explain.", Ali said, stopping her by coming infront of her. He made her sit on the kitchen countertop, beside him. "Okay, now start talking! I don't understand why are we even wasting our time here. We should be with Bade pa.", she said in an irritated tone, eagerly waiting for Ali to start talking and finish it as fast as he can. "Aaru, listen! Have you looked at yourself? You look so depressed and weak. Drink some water and splash some on your face too. I am saying this because if Bade pa looks at you like this then he will feel even worse than before. We will have to show him that we all, especially you, are doing fine so that he will also feel comfortable around us. And it will calm him down too. We will have to console him through our behaviors and support him and be his strength.", Ali finished his explanation, looking at her for an approval, if she agrees with him. However, for a few seconds he didn't notice any expression of agreement. "Now say something or just nod that you also agree with me.", Ali said becoming restless; unable to wait anymore for her reply. "Thank you. You cleared all the confusions and fears in my mind.", Aarzo said as she walked to the nearby sink and splashed some cold water on her face and quickly drank a glass of water as well. Ali, unknowingly, has helped her to think about something new, to achieve something which was to help her Bade pa and Badi chachi recover of the pain of losing her father, in everyway possible. It was as if she was lost in the midway to her destination, in the darkness, going in the wrong direction that somebody lightened up the place, helping her to get on the right path again, where she belongs. Aarzo have gained a new energetic spirit in her all of a sudden. Ali's little explanation has really worked on her, motivating her to do something for the people who are her family now, after Mr. Minhal.

Aarzo and Ali were just about to go out of the kitchen for Badepa's room that they saw both Afia and Zohaib running into the kitchen, panicking. This was just enough for Aarzo's fear to return to her, again. The fear of losing Badepa because of her stubbornness to tell him the truth. She was about to run to see her Bade pa that Ali, who was standing beside her, caught her hand. "Remember what I told you? You have to deal this situation with a lot of patience. Okay?", he said, reminding her of their little talk a few minutes ago. Aarzo nodded her head as she tried to compose herself. "Take a deep breath.", advised Zohaib who was filling a jug of water as he have heard the conversation going on between Aarzo and Ali just now. "I will do it. But first tell me if Bade pa is fine? Why were you guys rushing in like that? Is he alright or not?", Aarzo blurted out. "He is fine Aaru. We will tell you all the things in a while. At this moment, Bade pa is trying hard to maintain himself. We were just rushing to get his medications and some food. It's time for his medicines.", Afia said, trying to answer all the question Aarzo asked. Listening to the positive reply, Aarzo had a big sigh of relief. Both Afia and Aarzo now started to prepare some dinner for all the members as Ali and Zohaib helped them around. Aarzo didn't want either Badi chachi or Shiza to come and help. They all needed some rest. She has advised Zohaib and Ali to keep checking on Bade pa.

"Bade chachi, dinner is ready.", Ali said hesitatingly as he entered in Bade pa's room. From the very beginning all of the children, either its Aarzo, Ali or even Afia, are hesitant with Badi chachi. Badi chachi have always kept her feelings to herself, no matter how much she dislikes or loves a person, she will never express it. She has been a strict mother to her children as well. Neither she talks much with people without any need, nor does she look interested in doing so. Badi chachi has always wanted the best for her children. She has provided them with the education by which her children; Zohaib and Shiza can earn name & fame, through their successful careers. Both Bade pa and Badi chachi are total opposites of each other. If she is strict, then he is fun loving. If she is a mystery, then he is an open book. Nonetheless, despite of the differences, opposites do attract. And maybe that is the reason both enjoy each others company and share great understanding. Ali kept waiting for her reply as Badi chachi seemed to be thinking something. "ummmm........Badi chachi? the dinnerrrrrr…………isss…readdyy", Ali said with a glint of shiver in his voice, now closing his eyes in fear that she might scold him. "We are coming.", that is all she said as a signal for him to leave the room. Ali understood what she wanted and left the room. Badi chachi gave a glace to Bade pa who was busy in discussing something with Adeel Uncle.

It felt as if nothing had happened a few hours ago. As if they have never heard what Aarzo had told them about Mr. Minhal.

The dinner went in silence. Everybody was acting so normal even when remaining silent. Well, Aarzo, and Ali had a reason to behave typically. But, what about the others? Bade pa just looks fine and the same was with Badi chachi. All these questions were erupting in Aarzo's mind. Then she remembered what Afia said some time before. "We will tell you all the things in a while." Afia's words rang in her mind as she recalled the scene. She will have to wait a little for her questions to be answered. Here Ali was wandering the same. 'What IS going on? Am I missing something?', he questioned to himself, making a confused puppy face as he saw Aarzo looking at him. Ali signaled her using his hands, to come outside, in the lawn. At first Aarzo didn't understand what was he trying to say, then after a few seconds, she finally got it and nodded her head saying a big 'NO'. 'It's really urgent', he replied back using both his hands and eyes as a gesture. 'but…why??', she replied back, talking with her eyes to him. Both of them were lucky that nobody else noticed their gesturing session except for one person. Aarzo hastily took a last bite from her plate as she saw Ali walking outside the house, waving his hands, indicating her to come as soon as she can. She hurriedly washed her plate and ran outside as well, making sure nobody notices her. However, Ali and Aarzo did all this; unaware that someone was observing their each and every act from the corner of his eyes. It was Zohaib.

"Stupid! Why did you call me here? What was so urgent that you couldn't wait?", she asked him as she sat down beside him on the big, cushioned swing. "Hello??? Why are you calling ME stupid? Did you left your manners inside?", Ali said pretending to be a little angry. "Okay, stop all this acting. I don't need to use manners to talk to you.", she said casually, knowing that he was just playing around, trying to make her angry. "Who said you don't need manners to talk with me? Remember? I am two years older than you.", he retorted back, emphasizing on the word 'two'. "And anyways, you do use good manners and behaviour when you talk with Zohaib. Then, why not me? We both are the same age. Wow! I wonder what kind of tradition is that?", he pretended as if he was thinking. Aarzo hit him on his head, playfully. But, even she didn't know the answer of this question. Why she showed so much respect to him; Zohaib. She has always admired Zohaib for the dedication he gives to his family and his sincerity.......present in whatever he did. 'Zohaib will be a role model to his children for sure', thought Aarzo, whenever she thinks about all her cousins. But she would laugh at the thought of getting married as to her, marriage is piled deep down in her list of priorities for the future. All thanks to her dad. He would always explain to her how important marriage is in one's life. Then, she would fight back saying 'I will stay with you forever, always at your service, Sir!' and after that both father daughter would have a hearty laugh. However, Mr. Minhal succeeded in convincing her to get married one day and took it as a promise from her. Aarzo, on the other hand got him to do a promise as well that she would think about getting married only after she becomes a lawyer.

"You still didn't tell me. Why did you call me here?", Aarzo asked again, reminding him of what they came here for. "ohhh!! Sorry! I just got lost all because of your arrogance.", he said, blaming it all on Aarzo. In return, she smacked his arm lightly, giving an angry glare. "Okay. Okay. I am telling you. See, I just noticed that Bade pa is looking so normal as if nothing has happened. He is behaving……so…..so typically. Is it some kind of a state of shock? And did you realize that even Shiza, Zohaib, Badi chachi and my own silly sister, Afia is behaving the same. Are they hiding something from us? I just don't understand what is going on? Its becoming more complicated.", Ali said, listing his thoughts, confusions, and questions, all at the same time. "Oh God! You talk too much!!!", she said now, looking up, pretending as if she is frustrated with him. Ali got a little sad as he thought that he really irritated her. "I was just joking silly!! Anyway, I agree with you. Actually I was wandering about the same thing as well, all this while. One thing popped in my mind that Afia wanted to tell me something but she told me to wait. I think that might be the answer to our questions.", she said, standing up. No matter how sad or depressed Aarzo felt, Ali can always cheer her up through his silly arguments like the one he did now. It brought back the old Aarzo for a few moments. Ali created the little fight just to see how Aarzo will respond to it. His act did work when he saw her behaving the way she used to when Minhal chacha was alive. He gave himself a pat on the back for his little success.

"Let's go", Aarzo said, turning around, to Ali who was still sitting on the swing. And after telling him so she started walking towards the door, to go in. Ali nodded and followed her, inside.

Here is the end of this part. Sorry all of you, but the 'will' part is not included in this chapter. I might put it in the next chapter or the one after it. However, we have another mystery to solve and predict about. What happened to Bade pa? Why is he acting all so normal? What is that Afia wanted to tell Aarzo? In this part, I have given you glances of several things at the same time. First was about the personality of Badi chachi. Second, was about Aarzo and her father's promise and the kind of understanding and bond they shared.........more like friends than father-daughter. And last but not the least was Aarzo and Ali's friendship. They used to fight a lot on little things, which were mostly started by Ali. But as of now, Aarzo has come to a point where she has become a very serious and left all her jolliness behind. She is lost in herself, most of the times.

NOTE: I know this part was not quite good/interesting as I wasn't in the mood to continue because of the lack of comments. Anyways, I did continue and you can see the results.😕 What an awful part! 🤢Sorry if you were disappointed reading this and it just wasted your time.😕 Anyways, please comment if I deserve them.😳 😃And suggestions/criticism/predictions are always welcome.😛 😉

i didn't wanted to continue cuz i don't get that much comments as other ppl do. but thanks so much for the comments and liking the little fight of ali and aarzo. i know they are hilarious lol 😆 good that u regained ur weight or other wise i would have to send you the health tonic with my part. lol 😆 now i would really have to continue or otherwise u will be after me. 😆 Keep reading and commenting like this. and maybe more big ones. i love reading the comments. 😃 😳 😃

hey like the part badi chachi and bade chacha characters are so good looks like compatible to each other they complement each other. zohaib character is very cool and ali and arzoo fight was funny iali has very funny character tell more about shiza and afia tooo. cool part
